He's the MVP in my book.
He is by far the, the scoring leader this season, 32.7 points per game.
And then when you look at the plus minus, the steals, the assist to turnover ratio, the lead.
shit, I think is a big part of this and people are saying, Dan, like, free throw merchant, our favorite, Doris Burke is talking on the broadcast and bringing up that NBA Twitter believes he's a free throw merchant.
I understand why people are frustrated with all the foul calls that he gets, because I think it's unusual the way that he gets these calls.
But that's true for every superstar in the NBA.
Jokic benefits from the whistle, Dodgeic benefits from the whistle.

LeBron does every MVP candidate in the NBA will get one or two calls a game that you're like, did he really foul him there?
Do you have any thoughts on like how you'll look back?
On this MVP race this season, one of the challenges with MVP voting, and I, I do have a ballot, and I did vote for Shay over Jokic in 2nd place.
One of the challenges is balancing sort of the sober-minded statistical analysis with, I don't think that narrative is a dirty word.
I think this is, I think storytelling is a really important part of our business and also of what our jobs are and what we do.
To me, the Thunder were the story.

of this season.
The driver of that literally and figuratively is Sha Gilda Alexander.
Like they do not, yes, you can, you know, you can make the argument that he has the better supporting cast around him and Jokic has to do a heavier carry job and so on and so forth.
And like everything about how Oklahoma City plays with the way that they structured the team to be a 5 out team with Chet at the big, the drive and kick, the guard guard screening actions, everything that kind of got.
The ball rolling for Oklahoma City.
All of that flows out from Gilous Alexander.
This is not purely unethical hoops.
There's more to it than that.

And then you like zoom out and it's 35 and 5, 50+% shooting with the steals and the blocks.
And you're talking about Michael Jordan territory, like the, the in terms of production, not just from the guards, but from anybody, hitting those numbers, it's Jordan and it's SGA.

Nikola Jokic cried tears of joy after his horse won a race in Serbia
It's been well established how much Nikola Jokic loves his horses, but in case anyone needed a reminder, Sunday provided maybe the best example yet. With the Denver Nuggets big man in attendance, one of his horses won the Dužijanac race in his native Serbia and Jokic could barely contain his emotions as his horse ran away with the victory down the final stretch. Jokic palmed his face to wipe away tears after the win, and after he composed himself, he hopped over the fence to embrace his team and celebrate on the track with some bubbly. Look how genuinely happy he looks! Basketball fans couldn't help but compare his reaction to the race versus his reaction to winning an NBA championship. And, well, there is no comparison.

Former Texas A&M guard has signed an international deal with the Maccabi Basketball Club
Former Texas A&M guard Tyrece "Boots" Radford solidified his standing as one of the program's more popular players over the last decade after transferring from Virginia Tech, following then-head coach Buzz Williams to College Station to join the Aggies ahead of the 2021 season. After three seasons, including two trips to the NCAA Tournament, Radford went undrafted. Following a brief stint in the NBA Summer League, his international career began. During the 2025 season, Radford played for Final Spor Genclik Bursa of the Basketbol Süper Ligi, a part of the Turkish Basketball Federation, and averaged 19.4 points, six rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, which is very impressive for a first-year guard entering the international league. On Sunday, it was announced that Radford is returning to action and will join the Maccabi Basketball Club of Ra'anana in Israel for the 2025-2026 season. This is fairly typical in international play, as most players do not sign long-term contracts, unlike in the NBA. Based on his performance in Turkey last season, averaging nearly 20 points per game would have warranted a longer stay; however, that's just how quickly international player movement occurs. During his time at Texas A&M, Radford's elite defensive skill set translates perfectly to the NBA. However, his injury history, coupled with his lack of quickness, places him in a unique spot: still young enough, at the age of 26, to potentially land on an NBA roster in the near future. Which summer league standouts will the Boston Celtics lean on in the regular season?
Which Las Vegas Summer League standouts will the Boston Celtics lean on in the NBA's 2025-26 regular season? The Sin City Celtics were a deep squad this year, and the players from the Summer Celtics still in Boston's orbit at this late date in the 2025 offseason have a shot at making some waves with real run at the NBA level if they make the most of the opportunities in front of them. Boston's three picks from the 2025 NBA Draft -- Hugo Gonzalez, Max Shulga, and Amari Williams -- will all likely see at least a little run with the parent club this coming campaign with some luck. And we ought to expect some real minutes for summer league vets Baylor Scheierman and Jordan Walsh. The folks behind the "NESN" YouTube channel put together a clip from their "Hold My Banner" show that took some time on a recent episode to talk it over. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about which summer league standouts ought to be worth following for Boston fans this season.
