Big Ben makes bold prediction on Aaron Rodgers' future: 'I think this might be it for him'
Aaron Rodgers hasn't even unpacked in Pittsburgh — and Ben Roethlisberger is already predicting how it all ends.
On his podcast, Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, the legendary Steelers QB shared why he believes 2025 may be Rodgers' last season in the NFL:
'I don't think he's got much more after this year,' Roethlisberger said. 'I think this might be it for him — personally. I have no reason — you could ask, 'Well how do you know?' I don't know. I'm just guessing in terms of you coming off an Achilles [tear]. Coming off my elbow [injury], my first year back I felt like I was 100. I wasn't even — you don't realize you're not 100 until the next year when you are 100.'
Roethlisberger stated that Rodgers will feel healthier this season, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll play better — before ultimately concluding his speculation on Rodgers' future:
'…He's going to feel better, but it doesn't mean that he's going to have two or three years left. I think this might be his last go.'
If this truly is his last season — and this may be wishful thinking — here's to hoping Rodgers can lead the Steelers to their first playoff win since the 2016 season.

Hunter has been practicing with the team during both OTAs and this past week's mandatory minicamp. "I don't expect a holdout," Rapoport reported. "We rarely, rarely, rarely see a holdout, but I do think this will take some time. If you're talking about Jaguars fans, you're talking about Jaguars people, I don't think they have anything to worry about ause he's almost certaintly going to be participating in training camp. You'd think they will figure out a way to get it done by then." Hunter is projected to sign a four-year contract worth approximately $46 million with a signing bonus upwards of $30 million, according to Spotrac. Rapoport also said he "feels" Hunter will be the final first-rounder to sign his contract. Hunter has been impressing during practices this spring, shining at both wide receiver and cornerback. He and quarterback Travor Lawrence have been forming a strong connection during workouts this spring. In his final season at Colorado, Hunter won the Heisman Trophy while racking up a Big 12-leading 96 receptions for 1,258 receiving yards and 15 total touchdowns, leading to the Biletnikoff Award as the best receiver in college football. On defense, Hunter racked up 36 tackles, 11 pass breakups, four interceptions, one tackle for loss, and a forced fumble. No matter when Hunter inks his first professional contract, the two-way superstar should be must-see television during his rookie year in Jacksonville. International player trying out at Broncos mandatory minicamp
The Denver Broncos are taking a look at another Australian-born player. Among the seven players trying out at mandatory minicamp this week is Patrick Murtagh, a 25-year-old tight end who was a decathlete growing up before later switching to Australian rules football. He was rostered by the Gold Coast Football Club from 2020-2022 before joining the NFL's international player pathway program in 2023. Advertisement Murtagh had a brief stint with the Detroit Lions early in 2023 that was cut short by a medical issue. He then went to training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024, spending the regular season on injured reserve. The Jags waived the tight end this spring. The Broncos (and all 32 NFL teams) are allowed to carry an extra international player on the practice squad during the regular season. So if Denver signs a player like Murtagh and he ends up on the practice squad, he would not count against the 16-player limit. Teams also get an extra active roster spot for an international player during the offseason. Right now, Australian punter Jeremy Crawshaw is the team's designated international player, and he does not count against the 90-man offseason roster limit. Wisconsin football has a new highest-ranked commit in the class of 2026 Wisconsin football landed a commitment from class of 2026 three-star defensive back Zachary Taylor on Friday. Taylor chose the Badgers over top contenders Houston, Texas Tech and TCU. He completed visits to the latter two on June 3 and May 2, respectively, plus was scheduled to visit Houston on June 19. Just one full week after his June 6 official visit to Madison, Wisconsin, Taylor pledged to the Badgers. 247Sports ranks the Fulshear, Texas, native as the No. 540 overall player in the class of 2026, the No. 43 cornerback and the No. 76 recruit from his home state. He became Wisconsin's 12th commitment in the 2026 cycle. Notably, he is now the highest-ranked recruit of that group, edging three-star defensive lineman Djidjou Bah. His commitment pushed the class up to No. 35 nationally and No. 12 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell and his staff are working to deliver a third consecutive top-25 recruiting class. While the program's 2026 class is a significant distance from that threshold, partially because it is still looking for its first blue-chip commit, several of its top targets remain uncommitted. Taylor's commitment may begin a run of positive recruiting news in that regard.
