The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has confirmed Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the venues for 2025 Men's T20 Asia Cup, set to happen from September 9 to 28. Dubai will host 11 games, including the final, while Abu Dhabi will host eight matches.
India will play their Group A matches against UAE and the high-stakes clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 10 and 14 respectively, while its clash against Oman is slated to happen at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 19.
"The Asia Cup is more than just a tournament, it's a celebration of Asian cricket. Hosting it in the UAE allows us to bring the excitement to one of the most vibrant cricketing hubs in the world. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are well equipped to deliver a seamless and world class experience for players, fans, and broadcasters alike," said Mohsin Naqvi, President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in a statement on Saturday.
"We are confident that the 2025 edition will not only set new standards for excellence but also deepen the connection between the game and millions of passionate supporters across the continent," he added.

Notably, India, Pakistan, UAE and Oman are placed in Group A, while Group B comprises of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong Kong. It's also the first time Asia Cup, to be held in the T20I format keeping in mind the preparation of teams for the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup, will have eight teams.
Top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Fours stage, with the top two facing each other in the title clash to decide the winner of the 17th edition of the Asia Cup, which kicks off with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong China.
The hosting rights of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 are with India, but after an agreement struck between the BCCI and the PCB due to geopolitical and diplomatic tensions, tournaments held in India or Pakistan will see a neutral venue provided for the other side for a three-year period.
The agreement came about ahead of the Champions Trophy held in Pakistan earlier this year. India played all their games in Dubai. The final, which India qualified for and won, was also held in Dubai.
India are the defending champions of the Asia Cup, having beaten Sri Lanka in the 2023 final held in the 50-over format in Colombo. Sri Lanka had won the Asia Cup in the T20I version after beating Pakistan in the final in 2022.

'Kohli, Rohit & Ashwin Retiring...': KL Rahul On What 2-2 Draw Means For India

Last Updated: K L Rahul praised India's 2-2 Test series draw against England, achieved without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He highlighted Siraj's five-wicket haul and Gill's leadership. Opener KL Rahul on Monday said the 2-2 Test series draw against England 'will rank right at the top" among the biggest moments of Indian cricket, especially as it was achieved by a team that 'wasn't given a chance" due to the absence of giants like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. India secured a 2-2 draw in the series-deciding fifth and final Test, with Mohammed Siraj's exceptional bowling effort—claiming a five-wicket haul in the second innings — leading the team to scrape past England by six runs. The series was intensely fought, with India repeatedly clawing back from difficult situations. 'We have seen India lift the World Cup, I mean nothing compares to lifting the World Cup. But so many doubts, so many questions from everybody about whether Test cricket will stay or not. I think both the teams and the way we've played in this series, I think we've answered that question," Rahul told the broadcasters after the match. 'For us as a team, that wasn't given a chance in this series. And for us to fight back and to fight in every game and to get a result which is 2-2 might seem like a drop. But for us and for Indian Test cricket going in the future, I think this will rank right at the top," he added. What Did KL Rahul Say About Kohli, Rohit And Ashwin? Rahul expressed confidence that the Indian Test team will win many more series 'outside of India" and emphasised that the whole team deserves credit. 'For the start of the series, we had Virat Kohli retiring, Rohit Sharma retiring, we had Ashwin retiring. So three big names out of the roster in India's team," he pointed out. As a senior player, Rahul emerged as one of India's biggest performers, scoring 532 runs across the five Tests and forming a strong partnership with the younger Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top. 'Yeah, I think it hit me when I joined the team. I was here about two weeks earlier playing India A's and it didn't hit me back then. But once I joined the team and I looked around and I didn't have Rohit and Virat and Ashwin who I played all my cricket with… 'Just to look around and not see them felt a bit weird. But yeah, that's when it hit me that everyone else is looking at me, coming to me to ask about English conditions, what they need to do, how they need to prepare." Rahul relied on his experience to guide the younger players, not just by performing but also by steering the team. 'That's when it dawned on me that I have stepped into a different role. It's time for me to help the younger guys by using my experience from playing Test and international cricket over the years. 'This moment feels like this young team is going to stay together for a long time." While new skipper Shubman Gill topped the scoring chart with over 700 runs, Rahul was not far behind and provided stability at the top of the order with his calm and composed batting. Rahul praised Gill's performance. 'Shubman's been phenomenal. I think he's really led from the front. He's worked really hard on the boys behind the scenes as well. In forming connections which a lot of people don't see. 'He's been tactically really good. The changes he's made over the series has always got us the wickets somehow. And I think he will grow. He will grow on to be a really, really good Test captain. 'I can't speak too much about his individual performance because I think he's already shown the world what he can do in all three formats. And especially this series, the way he batted. 'He's here to stay as a leader and he will take this Indian Test team to greater heights." Press Trust of India London Opener K L Rahul on Monday said the 2-2 Test series draw against England "will rank right at the top" among the biggest moments of Indian cricket as it was pulled off by a team that "wasn't given a chance" in the absence of giants like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Rahul said he relied on his experience to do his bit in not just performing but also steering the younger lot. "And that's when it hit me that, okay, I've stepped into a different role now and it's time for me to help the younger guys. Use all the experience I've had of playing Test cricket and international cricket over the years and really put my hand up and stand up for this team. "This moment almost feels like this is a young team that's going to stay there for a long time. While new skipper Shubman Gill topped the scoring chart with over 700 runs, Rahul was not far behind and provided the team solidity at the top of the order with his calm and composed batting.
