Heather Payne seeking a new club as Everton allow her contract to run out
The former Peamount United player had been with the Toffees from late August 2023, and joins Justine Vanhaevermaet on the way out.
Payne made the move to L4 in 2023, following four years in the American college system. She scored her first Everton goal in royal blue as her side progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur.
Vanhaevermaet penned a two-year deal with the Club in August 2023 and played all but one Women's Super League matches last season. The Belgian operated both at the heart of defence and in midfield, while also opening the scoring in the Blues' 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace.

The draw for the FAI Cup quarter-finals takes place this morning, with all eight teams left in the hat dreaming of lifting the trophy at the Aviva Stadium in November. Smiles all round as Irish sports stars turn out for annual Hurling for Cancer Research match
THERE WERE JOYOUS scenes in Carlow's Netwatch Cullen last night as figures of Irish sports royalty turned out for the annual Hurling For Cancer Research charity match in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. Hurling and camogie stars were among the players who participated in the game between Jim Bolger's Stars and Davy Russell's Best. Darragh McCarthy, Lee Chin, Pat Horgan, Ashling Thompson and TJ Reid were alongside the current cast of inter-county talent on show while retired icons including Joe Canning, Ollie Canning, Brendan Cummins and Grace Walsh also featured. Republic of Ireland football icon Paul McGrath was in attendance while the recently retired jockey Rachael Blackmore served as an umpire during the game. Kelly, 73, is set to vie with Heather Humphreys for the Fine Gael nomination for November's presidential election. Ireland South MEP Kelly had previously expressed an interest in running for the Aras but stood down to clear the way for former European Commissioner McGuinness. The Kerry native reaffirmed his interest in representing the party in the election when McGuinness withdrew – leaving him on a collision course with Humphreys. The former Social Protection Minister is understood to be the preferred candidate by the party leadership having left politics ahead of the last general election in a shock decision. ALL CHANGED Speaking to Northern Sound radio this morning, Humphreys confirmed she has "decided to go for it" as she put herself forward for the party's contest to select a presidential candidate. The Fine Gael National Executive last night held a meeting to discuss the party's plan for the election, with the party agreeing to reopen the nomination process. Nominations for the party's presidential candidate reopen at midday today and will close at midday on September 2.
