We broke the news exclusively way back in December of how the Hoops were poised to seal their former star's stunning return.
Six years had passed since the left back's record £25 million sale to Arsenal.
He was allowed to leave Scotland duty early after playing in Friday's defeat to Iceland.
The 28-year-old came through the Parkhead youth ranks before playing his part in the winning of FOUR Premiership titles and two Scottish Cup and League Cup wins.
The Hoops acted fast to move into pole position to sign the player when it became clear that the Gunners were opting not to activate a 12-month option in their favour.
Celtic were aware of potential strong competition for Tierney's signature from clubs in the Premier League and abroad - but crucially he has always had a desire to return to his boyhood heroes.
Tierney said: 'Everybody's known for a few months and just to be here with the Celtic strip on again just feels amazing,'
'I spoke with the manager, and obviously I had worked with him before and I've always kept in touch with him.
"He's one of the best so I'm so lucky and grateful that he's given me the chance to come back again.
'When you move away from home, you grow up, you learn different things.

"I was in Spain for a year, learning a different language and playing in a different league, so I'm definitely a different person.
'Player-wise, it's the same as I always say – I'll try and work my hardest, I'll do my best for the club and that's all I can do.
'My ambition is just for Celtic to be as successful as possible, retain our place at the top and continue to win trophies and do well for Celtic.'
Brendan Rodgers said: 'We are delighted to welcome Kieran back to Celtic.

"He is such a talented, high-quality player and he will be a massive addition to our squad.
'Kieran has always had Celtic in his blood and he is excited to be coming back to the place he loves.
'He is someone who has given so much to Celtic already and I know he is so motivated and hungry to help the club bring more and more success to our fans.
'We are so pleased to bring such an elite player back to the club and I look forward to working with him again and the rest of the squad, as we face the many challenges ahead at home and in Europe.'

Viktor Gyokeres transfer saga takes a bizarre twist after 'fake' quotes from Sporting Lisbon star's agent as war of words continues over £84m Man United and Arsenal target

Viktor Gyokeres' future has taken another turn, with reports claiming the Sporting striker's agent has responded to the club's 'blackmail' stance. The 27-year-old is one of the most in-demand players this summer after scoring a staggering 97 goals in 102 matches for Sporting since joining in the summer of 2023. Gyokeres has been heavily linked with Arsenal and Manchester United as well as Juventus - but it is the former who have reportedly taken a step forward in the race to sign him. The Sweden international has an £84million release clause in his Sporting contract, but prior to the campaign just gone, he was understood to have reached a gentleman's agreement with the Portuguese champions over a reduced asking price. Following positive discussions regarding his sale, he was assured he would be able to leave this summer if a club met £51m, plus £8m in add-ons. However, it has been reported by Portuguese outlet Record, that Sporting's board have made a U-turn and are now seeking a fee in the region of £67m, which is said to have infuriated Gyokeres to the point of threatening to strike. On Wednesday, according to Record in Portugal, the Sporting president Frederico Varandas claimed: 'Blackmail and insults don't work with me'. Gyokeres' agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, has now weighed in on the saga. Reportedly speaking to Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, he claimed to have proof of an agreement with Sporting that would allow the striker to leave this summer for £59m. The striker is understood to be 'furious' with president Frederico Varandas, after discovering the news and has now told the club's bosses that he will never pull the Sporting shirt on again. However, Varandas has not taken to the threats kindly. The president has hit back with some fire of his own as he insists that he will not be held to ransom by Gyokeres. 'One thing you should already know is me better,' Varandes claimed as per Record. 'Threats, blackmail and insults don't work with me.

Emma Raducanu not ‘overly concerned' about ongoing back issue after Queen's exit

Emma Raducanu insisted she is not 'overly concerned' about her ongoing back issues but conceded she may need to re-think her next steps after bowing out in the Queen's quarter-finals with a 6-2 6-4 loss to Chinese first-seed Qinwen Zheng. Raducanu, who officially supplants Katie Boulter as British number one on Monday, planned for next week's Berlin Open to be the next step on her quest to secure seeding at Wimbledon, but required an off-court medical time out before the second set. The 22-year-old was the last Briton standing in this new WTA 500 event, the first time women's tennis had been played at Queen's since 1973. 'I'm not overly concerned that it's something serious, but I know it's something that's very annoying and needs proper and careful management,' said Raducanu, who revealed she had been taped up for stability and took some painkillers. Quizzed about whether she was a fitness doubt for Wimbledon, she replied: 'Well, I don't know. Like it's been lingering for the last few weeks, and I have had, like, back issues before. I think it's just a vulnerability of mine. I know I need to take good care of it.' Raducanu faced her toughest test yet in the world number five and Olympic champion Zheng, who opened the match with a double fault and conceded the next point before bouncing back to hold. The home favourite saved three break points to hold the fourth game and the set remained on serve until a topsy-turvy sixth, when Zheng sealed the first break of the afternoon at the fourth time of asking. The Chinese competitor then saved two break points to hold before breaking the Briton once more to wrap up the first set. Zheng initially struggled with her serve, but came back from a double break down in the second set, eventually forcing Raducanu to serve to stay in the match. Zheng quickly went 40-0 up in the 10th game, but three successive missed service returns left open the door for Raducanu to come back into the contest, ultimately clinching her place in the semi-finals when the Briton's return went long. Raducanu also endured three interruptions during her service games – twice for problems with Zheng's racket, and another so Zheng could swap her shoes, pauses the Briton admitted were not 'necessarily ideal.' The new British number one confirmed coach Mark Petchey will be able to join her should the Berlin plan go ahead, but does not know if former coach Nick Cavaday, who stepped back in January due to ill health, will also be on the trip after joining her in London this week. Raducanu conceded that making the seeding cut for Wimbledon 'obviously helps' when it comes to swerving difficult draws in the early rounds, but added: 'I think maybe my goals have slightly shifted from being seeded to actually improving my game. 'When I play those top players, making it closer and feeling more competitive rather than just feeling, 'OK, I maybe get to the third round of a slam but then lose comfortably to one of the top'. 'I think I'd rather have a more competitive match, even if that means losing first round, second round. I think that, to be honest, is how I feel right now.' Saturday's first semi-final will see Germany's Tatjana Maria take on second seed Madison Keys, while Zheng will play American Amanda Anisimova.

I told Nygren to turn down Euro giants, here's how he'll do at Celtic

The Parkhead club are said to have beaten Belgian side Anderlecht to the signing of Nygren, who scored 16 goals in 32 games for Nordsjaelland last season. Read more: And now, Mats Gren, who was previously sporting director at Swedish side IFK Gothenburg, has revealed that Nygren had trials at Inter Milan, AC Milan and Bayern Munich, along with a club in England. Instead, he chose to join Genk in a £4 million deal. Gren recently spoke to SunSport: "We took him into the first team at IFK and he was fantastic in pre-season and started to play," he said. "When someone that young begins to play regularly then of course there is a lot of interest in them from around Europe. "Benjamin always had a really nice touch on the ball and great skills. "During that time, he travelled to so many big clubs for visits. They all wanted to sign him. "He was at both of the Milan clubs in Italy, he went to England and also visited Bayern Munich. "There were so many options for him but in the end, he decided to go to Belgium and sign for Genk. "I had a lot of discussions with his father at that time and I told him, 'Go to a club where he has a chance to play'." Nygren appears set to become Brendan Rodgers' second summer signing, and Gren believes he has what it takes to succeed at Parkhead, much like several of his Swedish predecessors: "I am not surprised that there is interest in him now and I think Celtic would be a good next step for him," he said. "I know all about Scottish football. I played against Rangers in the Champions League with Grasshoppers. "I have also been to Scotland to visit places like Glasgow and Edinburgh on holiday. "It's a nice country and I have watched a lot of the football there. "Moving to Britain would be a sensible next step and he would also have the chance to play European football at a high level. "You look at Celtic's history and there have been a lot of Swedish players who have done well there. "Henrik Larsson, Johan Mjallby and Mikael Lustig have all done extremely well and maybe Benjamin can be the next one. "The style of Scottish football really suits Swedish footballers and I am sure he would do well at Celtic."
