Nebraska volleyball's 2027 commitment class continues to grow following another commitment announcement. Libero Mallory Johnson posted on social media that she is committing to the Huskers.
'First, I want to thank my family. You are my rock, and I'm forever grateful for your love and support. You inspire me to be a better person every day! I also want to thank my FarOut family. To my coaches, thank you for pushing me to improve daily. To my teammates, thank you for being my best friends. And lastly, a huge thank you to the entire Nebraska staff, especially Coach Dani, Coach Jaylen, Coach Kelly, and Coach Brennan, for this opportunity of a lifetime. I'm so excited and grateful to start this new chapter!'
Johnson joins fellow libero Pulelehua "Hua" Laikona, outside hitter Shaye Witherspoon, middle blocker Kendall Omoruyi, and setter Malorie Boesiger in the 2027 class.
The 5-foot-6 defensive specialist plays for Byron Center High School and is the top player in the state of Michigan. The Eagles finished their 2024 season in the MHSAA Division 3 Regional Final. Johnson also plays club volleyball for Far Out in Grand Rapids.

Jalen Ramsey spotted at UCLA — fueling Steelers trade rumors due to DK Metcalf connection

Jalen Ramsey spotted at UCLA — fueling Steelers trade rumors due to DK Metcalf connection Jalen Ramsey has been working out at the same place as Steelers WR DK Metcalf #noticing — Polymarket Football (@PolymarketBlitz) June 19, 2025 Jalen Ramsey's UCLA training pic has gone viral after weeks of Steelers trade rumors and speculation. UCLA Football posted several pictures of Ramsey's training session, which sent social media pages into a frenzy. Polymarket Football quickly speculated that the workout could be connected to DK Metcalf, as the Steelers wide receiver had his famous throwing session with Aaron Rodgers there. Back in April, insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Dolphins and Ramsey had mutually agreed to seek trade options. Over the past several weeks, Ramsey has been connected to both the Rams and Steelers as potential landing spots for the three-time All-Pro corner — while HC Sean McVay claimed "obstacles" may prevent Los Angeles from acquiring him. Steelers fans should take the now-viral UCLA workout speculation with a grain of salt, as Ramsey's choice of training facility being similar to that of Rodgers and Metcalf is likely coincidence — but it definitely adds more fuel to the rumored Pittsburgh trade narrative this offseason. Magic Johnson reacts to sale of majority stake of Lakers ownership

Magic Johnson reacts to sale of majority stake of Lakers ownership In 1979, the late Dr. Jerry Buss purchased the Los Angeles Lakers, and that same year, the franchise drafted Earvin "Magic" Johnson with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft. Over the next nine seasons, the Lakers won five NBA championships, making Johnson a basketball legend and Buss one of the greatest owners in the history of team sports. On Wednesday, the Buss family reportedly agreed to sell its majority ownership stake in the Lakers to Mark Walter, the CEO of TWG Global and Guggenheim Partners. Through Guggenheim Partners, he has owned a sizable stake in the Los Angeles Dodgers. Another man who is involved in the ownership of the Dodgers is Lakers legend Magic Johnson. He said that fans of the Purple and Gold should be "ecstatic" about Walter taking over a majority stake of the franchise. The group that is headed by Walter and includes Johnson bought the Dodgers in 2012. Over the last 12 seasons, the Dodgers have won the National League West division 11 times, and they have won two World Series championships in the previous five Major League Baseball seasons. Their ownership group has spared no expense in order to bring in star after star, including Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani, all of whom had won at least one MVP before coming to L.A. Perhaps something similar could be expected from the Lakers, who have had LeBron James and one other true superstar for the last six seasons, but have only one NBA title to show for it.
