TRP Twist: Smriti Irani's Comeback Beats Anupamaa, grabs No. 1 spot with a TRP of.., top 5 shows of this week are…
In the ever-evolving world of cinema, fame is always fleeting. What might be trending one day can be replaced tomorrow, and something that might not even exist before can become an overnight sensation. One such similar story is this week's TRP shake-up. With the much-awaited return of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, the show has managed to take the number 1 spot in its debut week with an impressive rating of 2.3. However, this show that evoked nostalgia and is backed by a compelling mix of emotional storytelling and the legacy has also broken the winning streak of Anupamaa that was dominating the charts for months.
With the grand return of Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay, this show has once again proved why it was considered a cult classic of its time. The makers have successfully captured both old loyalists and curious new viewers who are invested in seeing this show. Smriti Irani's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 ends the winning streak for Anupamaa.
Meanwhile, Rupali Ganguly's Anupamaa, which held the No. 1 spot for a long time, saw a marginal dip, landing at the second position. While both Anupamaa and Kyunki 2 have nearly the same rating, Kyunki's new momentum and novelty factor have made it win at the top of the scale.
Taking the third place this week is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH), which slipped from the second spot. This show, featuring Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit, also saw a minor dip in viewership, moving from 2.1 to 2.0 points. The current storyline revolving around Abhira uncovering Maira's truth continues to hold attention. Reality Show Outshines Scripted Dramas
However, what caught everyone off guard was the reality show Laughter Chefs 2, which secured the fourth spot. Its grand finale episode, which crowned Elvish Yadav and Karan Kundrra as winners, garnered 2.0 points, outperforming many scripted dramas.
Last one on the list in the top five shows is the beloved sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which has managed to maintain its TRP to 1.9 but has dropped from third to fifth position.
Other shows like Udne Ki Aasha and newer launches (Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shehad Shehad, Tu Dhadkan Main Dil) are yet to climb the TRP ladder and intrigue the audience.
In this unpredictable world of showbiz, where TRP changes every week, this week's chart proves that comebacks, nostalgia, and fresh energy can still change the game, and the the television industry is highly competitive.

Amar Upadhyay On Returning In Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: Perfect Mix Of Nostalgia And Fresh Storytelling
Mumbai: "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" has received a positive response from the audience, and actor Amar Upadhyay, who plays Mihit Virani, is thrilled. According to Amar, the key lies in striking a balance between the charm of the original drama and today's sensibilities. "I think it's the perfect mix of nostalgia and fresh storytelling. The original Kyunki holds such a special place in people's hearts, and with Kyunki 2, we've managed to bring that emotional connect back but in a way that resonates with today's generation," he shared. Amar claimed that for him, stepping back into the shoes of Mihir was all about embracing evolution. He added that back then, Mihir used to be gentle, traditional, and very much a man of his time; however, in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" he has evolved. "He's still grounded, but there's more emotional depth, more space for vulnerability," Amar went on to explain. Reflecting on the vulnerability shown in a memorable scene where Mihir breaks down on Tulsi's shoulder, he added, 'It was a bit of both; planned and in the moment. I didn't hold back, and that's why the audience connected so deeply." Reacting to being tagged as the "green flag" of Indian television, Amar said, "If people see Mihir, and me, in that light, then I must be doing something right. We need more 'green flags' on television as well as real life." Overcoming the massive pressure of TRPs, Amar focuses on what he can control - giving his 100% on set, then going home and spending quality time with his family. "After that, it's in the audience's hands," he added. Amidst all this, Amar is extremely grateful for the love showered upon "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" by the audience. "You've welcomed Mihir and Tulsi back into your homes, and that means everything to us. We'll keep giving you stories and moments that stay with you long after the episode ends," he concluded.
