Salman Khan shielded his niece Ayat from photographers at a Mumbai event. Ayat is the daughter of Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma.
It was a moment that showed the softer, protective side of Salman Khan. On Sunday evening in Mumbai, the Bollywood star was attending an event with his family when he found himself playing the role of a caring uncle rather than the celebrity everyone was trying to photograph. Holding his young niece, Ayat, close to him, Khan noticed she was growing uncomfortable with the flashing cameras and the noisy crowd of photographers. Without hesitation, he stepped in to shield her, asking paps to back off.
Salman Khan turns protective uncle
A video from the evening, now widely shared online, shows Khan exiting the venue with Ayat by his side. As photographers crowded around to take pictures, the child appeared unsettled by the attention. Khan, holding her close, addressed the media present.
'Chalo chalo peeche… Dus kadam door. Bacchi saath mein hai. Aage badho," he told the paparazzi, urging them to step back.
Take a look:
Who is Ayat?
Ayat is the daughter of Salman's sister, Arpita Khan, and actor Aayush Sharma. The couple married in November 2014 and welcomed their first child, Ahil, in 2016. Their daughter Ayat was born in December 2019, coinciding with Salman Khan's birthday.
On the work front, Salman Khan is preparing for his next project, Battle of Galwan. The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, will depict the 2020 confrontation between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley. Chitrangada Singh also features in the cast.
While details of Khan's role remain under wraps, the film is expected to present him in a markedly different avatar from his recent projects. Reports suggest the actor is currently engaged in rigorous training for the role.
Battle of Galwan Mumbai shoot shelved, sets demolished
The Mumbai shoot of the film, originally planned for this month, has been postponed, and the sets constructed at Mehboob Studios in Bandra are being taken down. An insider revealed to Mid-Day that the decision to postpone the Mumbai shoot was driven by creative considerations. The production is now slated to resume in Ladakh from August 22 to September 3, focusing primarily on the action sequences.
The source explained that since Salman Khan sports a unique look for the film, filming with a 30-day gap between locations would affect continuity. 'Apoorva (Lakhia) felt that the sequences would need to be shot in succession. So, for now, the film's Mumbai schedule is postponed indefinitely. They will take a call in the last leg whether a song sequence or patch work needs to be done in the city," the report added.

‘Ibrahim Ali Khan lacks depth,' observes Sarzameen co-star Piloo Vidyarthi; alleges her role in the actioner was reduced to less than 20 per cent

Although the popular adage goes, 'third time is the charm', it's unclear how willing the audience would be to sit through one more project headlined by Ibrahim Ali Khan after two disastrous outings back-to-back. Following his catastrophic debut in director Shauna Gautam's Nadaaniyan earlier this year, Ibrahim appeared in Kayoze Irani's Sarzameen, earning far more criticism for his acting — or the lack thereof. While the direct-to-OTT action thriller, featuring Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles, opened to largely unfavourable responses from all quarters, one of its actors herself has now come forward, expressing dissatisfaction over the work. Maintaining that her character was unfairly trimmed down, actor Piloo Vidyarthi also observed that Ibrahim should ensure depth in his performance. She, however, stated that he was nice to her in person. During a recent interaction, Piloo revealed that after committing to the role, which she felt had as much gravitas as Farida Jalal's from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, she shot extensively for the movie in Manali and Mumbai. The impression she got following the initial narration was that her character was pivotal to a child's emotional arc and hence of great significance in the overall movie. However, it was only upon watching the film that she realised just how much her role had been edited out. 'Beech mein main phas gayi hoon, na sar hain na zameen (I am stuck in the middle, neither do I have a head nor a ground). The makers have gone wrong somewhere because the director struggled to piece together the narrative. They didn't retain even 20 per cent of what was shot. I was disappointed, so I'm not promoting the film as well,' she said during a chat with News18. She continued, 'These things happen in our journey, so that's okay. But yes, it's disappointing when you prepare for a role and it's reduced to nothing. As actors, especially in supporting roles, we don't always have the right to question such decisions.' Opening up about Ibrahim Ali Khan, she said, 'He was very nice to me, clicked photos. But I think he needs to have some depth. Star kids are also under a lot of pressure to live up to their parents. And Ibrahim comes from a family of big achievers. They have seen attention since forever. No one is bad.' Ibrahim is the son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh and the younger brother of Sara Ali Khan, who also works in the film industry as an actor.

‘Humara aashirwad hai': Indian family's sweet encounter with biker couple in Switzerland melts millions of hearts

A biker embarking on an extraordinary journey from Delhi to London with his wife shared a heartwarming moment from Switzerland that struck a chord with Indians worldwide. Auto enthusiast and travel content creator Prateek Chaturvedi, who is riding across 24 countries with his wife Shikha, posted a video on Instagram showing them taking a short break at a picturesque Swiss location. As he stood by his heavily modified bike, carefully designed to store everything needed for their long road trip, an Indian family happened to pass by. The interaction turned touching when the man noticed the tricolour on the biker's jacket. (Instagram/mysticriderprateek) Intrigued, the man from the family struck up a conversation, visibly amazed by the customisations on Chaturvedi's motorcycle. When the biker revealed that they were travelling through 24 countries, the man's curiosity grew. His family gathered closer, listening intently as the biker explained that he and his wife, both IT professionals, had taken five months off work to fulfil their dream road trip. The interaction turned especially touching when the man noticed the tricolour on Chaturvedi's jacket. Placing his hand on it, he smiled and said, 'Yeh dekh kar bahot anand hua. Humara aashirwaad hai (Seeing this filled us with joy. Our blessings are with you.' He also posed for a photograph with the couple, offering his heartfelt wishes for the journey ahead. 'Bacche log bahot accha kaam krrhe hain. Very nice. Har ek hindustani ka blessing hoga aapke saath (You kids are doing a great job. The blessings of every Indian are with you),' he added before bidding them farewell. 'His reaction on seeing the Indian National Flag was priceless & his love & support made our day,' the biker wrote. The video has since gone viral, racking up more than two million likes on Instagram and prompting an outpouring of emotion. 'Humara ashirvad hai – ghar se door ghar mil jaata hai (You found home away from home),' wrote one user. Another commented, 'This is the appreciation and support required from elders, instead of just for celebration and growing wealth.' A third noted, 'Ye hi Indian culture aapne log dekh ke kitna khus ho gaye, especially Indian flag dekh ke hamara ashirwad hai aapke saath pure emotion. ("This is Indian culture — they became so happy seeing our people, especially after seeing the Indian flag. Our blessings are with you, pure emotion.)"

Viral Video: Lover Sneaks Into Girlfriend's House At Night, Wakes Up To A Situation He Never Imagined

The video shows the girl placing a tilak on her lover's forehead as he applies sindoor to her hair but what catches the attention of many viewers is the groom's expression Viral clips on social media often range from bizarre pranks to heated public confrontations. But one recent video has left viewers both amused and stunned; not because of a fight or a dramatic revelation, but because a late-night romantic rendezvous turned into an unexpected wedding. The incident came to light through Instagram user Ranjeet Singh (@ranjeet__singh_60), who shared footage showing a young man allegedly sneaking into his girlfriend's house under the cover of darkness. According to the video, the boy, driven by eagerness to meet her, entered the home at midnight. But his plan fell apart when her family woke up and caught him inside. By morning, the matter had escalated beyond the household. The girl's relatives called in villagers, and in a scene reminiscent of rural social arbitration, a decision was made – the couple should be married immediately. The video shows the girl placing a tilak on the young man's forehead before he applies sindoor to her hair parting. What catches the attention of many viewers, however, is the groom's expression – not joy, but visible shock. Commenters have suggested he may have only intended to spend time with his girlfriend, not commit to marriage on the spot. Further intrigue came when a follow-up video emerged, showing the boy declaring he would stand by his new wife despite his family's refusal to accept the union. 'Wherever I live, I will keep her with me," he said in the clip. Reactions to this statement were sharply divided. 'The mother who gave birth is the one snatching the happiness of the son," wrote Seema Kumari, while another commenter argued, 'No one respects those who do not respect their parents." Some, like Vijay Kumar, took a more pragmatic view, saying, 'Having courage is not enough; settling down in life is a big thing." Whether viewed as a story of love defying opposition or a cautionary tale about midnight visits, the video has cemented its place as one of the latest viral sensations on Indian social media. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
