TTD suspends official for professing alien faith
It recently came to the notice of the TTD management that Mr. Babu regularly attended the church and prayed every Sunday in his hometown of Puttur in Tirupati district.
'It is nothing but the violation of the TTD norms, as he (Rajasekhar Babu) has not followed the code of conduct as an employee. He has acted irresponsibly as an employee representing a Hindu religious organisation,' a TTD release said.
The employees, while joining the TTD service, are required to take an oath and sign a declaration that they will follow the Hindu Dharma and practise Hindu traditions only, in compliance with Rule 9 (vi) of the Service Rules issued in G.O.Ms.No.1060 Revenue (Endowments-1), dated 24 October, 1989.
The TTD's Vigilance department, which probed the issue, gathered evidence against Mr. Rajasekhar Babu and submitted a report, based on which the departmental action was initiated as per the rules.
The TTD management, at its trust board meeting on November 18, 2024, resolved to surrender the non-Hindus working in the temple administration in various capacities to the government.
According to a report made available in 2018, there are 44 employees of other religious faiths working with the TTD.

Tension mounts in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur as mob vandalises tomb
Tension mounted in Fatehpur on Monday (August 11, 2025) after Hindu organisations, including the Bajrang Dal, attempted to offer prayers inside an old tomb in the Abu Nagar locality under the Kotwali Nagar police station, claiming a temple previously existed at the site. Around 1,000 members of right-wing outfits carrying saffron flags barged into the tomb, with some vandalising the structure with sticks. It led to a confrontation with the opposite side. The district administration was forced to deploy police and the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) in a hurry. The police erected barricades around the structure and neighbouring places to control the situation. Locals said several people chanting 'Jai Shree Ram' climbed onto the roof and installed a saffron flag. The local administration brought in reinforcements from the Radha Nagar, Husainganj, Malwan, and Jahanabad police stations. 160 people booked 'The crowd gathered at the disputed tomb site under the Kotwali Nagar police station area has been pacified by persuasion, and the miscreants have been identified. A case has been registered against 10 named and 150 unknown miscreants who forced their way into the structure and vandalised the site under relevant sections of law at Kotwali Nagar Police Station, and teams have been formed to arrest all the accused. The accused will be arrested soon, and legal action will be taken,' said Anoop Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP), Fatehpur. The controversy began after members of the local Bajrang Dal, Math Mandir Sanrakshan Sangharsh Samiti, and other Hindu outfits said the structure was a temple to Thakurji (Lord Krishna) and Lord Shiva, allegedly over a thousand years old, and had a Shivling. Plans to perform prayers at the site had been announced earlier. Some local BJP leaders also supported the announcement. 'We will offer prayers here at noon. The administration will not be able to stop us. In the Hindu religion, no one can take away your right to offer prayers. It is our temple, which they are referring to as a tomb,' Dharmendra Singh, a Bajrang Dal activist, said this morning, before the tension started.

Five held for shooting objectionable video featuring idols of deities
Kondagaon, Aug 11 (PTI) Police arrested four men and detained a teenage boy in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh after their objectionable video featuring idols of Hindu deities went viral, an official said on Monday. Police registered a case on the charge of hurting religious sentiments after the investigation revealed that the video was recorded at Shri Ram Vangaman Path, Ram Vatika in Kanker district on Saturday, he said. Police in Kanker district registered a case on August 10 and launched a manhunt. The accused individuals were traced to a village under Farasgaon police station limits in Kondagaon district.
