Avengers: Infinity War's Benicio del Toro on if He'll Return in Doomsday
Benicio del Toro recently shared his thoughts on whether he will join the cast of Avengers: Doomsday as The Collector. The actor debuted in the MCU in the 2013 film, Thor: The Dark World. Although after the 2018 film, Avengers: Infinity War, The Collector hasn't been seen in any Marvel movies.
Benicio del Toro recently sat down for an interview with ComicBook to promote The Phoenician Scheme, when he talked about The Collector's potential role in Avengers: Doomsday.
The outlet asked Benicio del Toro whether he would join the cast of the upcoming Avengers movie. In response, he expressed uncertainty about The Collector's future in the MCU and stated, 'I don't know. I mean, it's like, you gotta get invited to play in that international tournament, and I'd love to play in it, but fingers crossed that'll happen soon. I haven't been invited yet for a second round.'
The Collector, aka Taneleer Tivan, last appeared on the big screen in Avengers: Infinity War when Thanos arrived at Knowhere to obtain the Reality Stone. Here, Tivan was shown in the illusion that Thanos created to deceive the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, whether The Collector survived or was killed by Thanos on Knowhere remained a mystery.
In 2018, Benicio del Toro shared that he believed that The Collector was alive after Infinity War. He said, 'I think he's alive…I think that, you know. You're talking to him!' (via CinemaBlend)
Additionally, in November 2022, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn also hinted that The Collector might be alive. While talking to Entertainment Tonight about the base the Guardians had in the GOTG Holiday Special, Gunn conveyed, 'They've bought Knowhere from The Collector, that's their home base now.'
Avengers: Doomsday will come out on December 18, 2026.

Sydney Sweeney has become more 'guarded'
Sydney Sweeney has become more "guarded" since shooting to fame. The 27-year-old actress has been working in show business since she was a teenager but her fame has increased over the last few years after she landed a high profile role in TV series 'Euphoria' and went on to star in 'The White Lotus', rom-com 'Anyone but You' and Marvel movie 'Madame Web' - and Sydney admits being well-known is difficult because she had "no idea" how much she valued her privacy until she lost it. She told The Times newspaper: "I've always been guarded. Definitely more so now. You let a few people in who you trust ... "A lot is gone, like privacy. Which is huge. You don't realise how much that means until you lose it. I see all the time: 'Oh, they sold themselves, they knew what they were signing up for.' But 18-year-old me had no idea what she was signing up for." Sydney went on to admit it is women who give her "the hardest time", insisting she has to work hard to be taken seriously in her work. She explained: "I have to be like, I want to be in the room, I want to sit in every single meeting and want to be involved in every decision, I want to be taken seriously as a producer. "I'm very direct, I'm very blunt ... To be honest, actually, I always find that it's the women who give me the hardest time ... "I see it all the time [in auditions] where they don't think I am right for [a role] because they watched [her character] Cassie in 'Euphoria'. "Especially because Cassie was such a sexualised character - that puts a wall up for people. I feel like I'm constantly having to be like, no, no, I'm an actor, I'm supposed to be different characters." It comes after Sydney - who now has her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films - admitted the entertainment industry is tough, but she continues to be fascinated by it. She told Empire: "This industry is so fascinating. There are so many chats, pieces and moves to make, and I find that really exhilarating. "It's constantly changing. I love acting, but being able to step outside of that and then see how everything comes together, and understand what every crew member needs and what it takes to get a project from imagination to conception ... "When people see it in the theatres or on screen, it's been a really long, hard process, but I love it."

Tim Miller Dishes On the ‘X-Men' Horror Movie He Almost Made
Slowly, but surely, Marvel's making moves to bring the X-Men to the big screen again in the next few years. As everyone waits to find out what all that entails (and who it'll involve), filmmaker Tim Miller looked back on the one he nearly did once upon a time. During a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the Deadpool director talked about Marvel's mutant corner as the company's 'secret weapon. […] The X-Men are my favorite characters, and I wrote to Kevin Feige like, 'If there was anything you'd ever let me do in the Marvel universe, the X-Men would be it.'' In fact, he had an X-film in development at one point, which would've been based on Chris Claremont and John Byrne's Uncanny X-Men #143. In that, the team departs the mansion for the holidays, leaving Kitty Pryde on her own. While left to her own devices, an N'Garai—demons the team previously fought over the years—invades the mansion, and she's got to hold her own against it. Miller described the film as 'Home Alone meets Alien,' and it seems this was the Kitty solo movie Fox announced back in 2018 that he would've directed from a script by comics scribe Brian Michael Bendis. (At the time, Kitty was part of the Guardians of the Galaxy as Star-Lord during Bendis and Valerio Schiti's 2015-2017 run). Unfortunately, this was in development at Fox around the time of its merger with Disney, so it was one of many ideas—along with publicized solo films for Gambit and Multiple Man, plus a hopeful Fantastic Four crossover—which never came to cinematic fruition. X-Men movies were typically action affairs, but Fox let the characters dip into horror with New Mutants. It was the last franchise movie of the Fox era, but once they've properly settled into the MCU, maybe they can be taken for a scary spin again. Either way, Miller seems to be happy with how everything's settled: he called himself 'the luckiest nerd on the planet' for bringing a proper Deadpool to the silver screen, and feels things have gone up from there. 'I didn't expect to have my own studio, or to do Terminator: Dark Fate,' he told THR. 'Being able to do Love Death + Robots is probably my achievement I'm most of. I'm old, but I'm not done yet.'
