Power Metallic Acquires 167KM² from Li-FT Power, Expanding Nisk - Lion Polymetallic Project Area by over 300%
TORONTO, June 9, 2025 /CNW/ - Power Metallic Mines Inc. (the "Company" or "Power Metallic") (TSXV: PNPN) (OTCBB: PNPNF) (Frankfurt: IVV) is pleased to announce it has executed a definitive agreement dated June 9, 2025 to acquire a 100 % interest in 313 mineral claims totalling 167 km² from Li-FT Power Ltd. ("Li-FT") (TSXV: LIFT) (OTCQX: LIFFF) (FRA: WS0). The claims adjoin the Company's 45.86 km² Nisk property, where exploration is expanding the high–grade Lion Cu–PGE discovery and the Nisk Ni–Cu–Co deposit. On closing, Power Metallic's land position will grow more than 300% to ~212.86 km², securing approximately 20 km of strike on the northern basin margin and 30 km on the southern margin that envelope the Nisk, Lion, and Tiger discoveries. Nisk Project Area The Nisk-Lion-Tiger discoveries have established a new polymetallic district with considerable potential for additional deposits. These deposit types are globally rare but form clusters at district and camp scale (Noril'sk and Talnakh, Kevitsa and Sakatti, as relevant examples). Currently discovered polymetallic mineralization on the Nisk property has been confined to a major translithospheric structure along the sedimentary basin margin defining the locations of the Nisk, Lion, and Tiger discoveries (Figure 1 map of original Nisk targets overlain on geology). Work by Power Metallic and Li-FT has identified a larger region proximal to the Nisk property that has additional potential for polymetallic deposits. Significantly Power Metallic sees potential in the wider basin where exploration to date suggest conditions similar to those at the Nisk-Lion-Tiger discoveries. The land purchased from Li-FT covers a further 20 km of strike length along the northern margin of the basin that contains Nisk-Lion-Tiger, and the most prospective 30 km of strike length along the southern basin margin, which has been identified by Power Metallic through regional geophysics as prospective, and corroborated by extension soil and till elemental anomalies from surveys carried out by Li-FT (Figure 2 map of regional play with New property, showing relative size with original Nisk property). The control of the most readily accessible prospective geology proximal to the known mineralizing system (Nisk-Lion-Tiger) gives Power Metallic the opportunity to control the discovery of multiple polymetallic deposits within the identified regional system across both its 80% owned properties and its 100% owned properties. Steve Beresford, Director and Special Advisor, stated: "Polymetallic deposits have unique primary and secondary geochemical footprints (that contrast with Nickel dominant sulfide deposits like Voisey's Bay) that enable us to recognize early the tip of the iceberg i.e. extensions of Lion or mimics that represent new camp to district scale opportunities. We know a lot about how these deposits spatially cluster that's different to lode Au or VMS, and now is the time to own the whole opportunity". Purchase Agreement Terms The purchase of the 100% interest in the claims (exclusive exploration rights) requires a $700,000 cash payment to Li-FT and the issuance of 6,000,000 common shares of the Company (the " Shares"). All the Shares will have a statutory hold period of four months and a day from issuance in accordance with Canadian securities laws. 3,000,000 of the 6,000,000 Shares will also bear a 12 month hold and restriction from transfer. Additionally, Li-FT will retain a 0.5% NSR on all acquired claims. The share–weighted consideration preserves cash for drilling while giving both Power Metallic and Li–FT exposure to the exploration upside in the basin. The issuance of the Shares is subject to the Company's receipt of approval from the TSX Venture Exchange. Fully Funded 100,000–Metre Drill Program Through 2026 The drilling rig has been collared on the first hole of the summer program. We are resuming work along the Nisk–Lion–Tiger trend while integrating its newly acquired LIFT claims—an expansion that increases the Company's land position more than 300%. Field crews will mobilize in successive waves beginning the last week of May, with camp upgrades—including grid–power wiring for new core–logging facilities—well underway. Drilling will initially recommence in the Nisk-Lion-Tiger area to expand current zones. It is anticipated that by early fall of 2025 the core facility capacity will be ramped up to six drills enabling quicker exploration target turnaround and flexibility to follow exploration successes on the expanded Nisk Project Area. Key elements of the work program District–scale data integration. Historical technical data from the LIFT claims are being compiled alongside existing datasets to refine regional targeting. Airborne & ground geophysics. A large–scale airborne EM survey—followed by targeted ground EM—will seek near–surface conductors. Systematic mapping and prospecting. Field teams will focus on areas highlighted by Li–FT's previous geochemical anomalies, moving from regional reconnaissance to detailed mapping and sampling as anomalies are confirmed. Follow–up drilling. Once preliminary geophysics and mapping results are interpreted, priority targets, primarily confirmed by EM, will be drilled through late 2025 and into the 2026 winter season. Terry Lynch, CEO, stated: "Consolidating the LIFT ground lets us apply the geological insights from Nisk across a district–scale footprint. With over 100,000 metres of fully funded drilling in front of us, we can systematically approach new sulphide occurrences while continuing to grow our established resources." JC Evensen, Strategic Advisor, added: "The opportunity to consolidate control of this emerging polymetallic mineral district will allow Power Metallic to fully explore and understand its potential before determining the value maximizing development pathway for all stakeholders involved. The discovery of Lion transformed how this area was understood geologically, and now, with the counsel of Steve Beresford on the board, Joe Campbell, Adam Findlay and the entire exploration team have an opportunity to see if there is something better than Lion to be discovered." A more detailed summer exploration plan—updated to reflect the expanded acreage—will be released within the next 2–4 weeks. Qualified Person Joseph Campbell, VP Exploration at Power Metallic, is the qualified person who has reviewed and approved the technical disclosure contained in this news release. About Power Metallic Mines Inc. Power Metallic is a Canadian exploration company focused on advancing the Nisk Project Area (Nisk–Lion–Tiger)—a high–grade nickel–copper–PGE, gold and silver system—toward Canada's next polymetallic mine. On 1 February 2021, Power Metallic (then Chilean Metals) secured an option to earn up to 80% of the Nisk project from Critical Elements Lithium Corp. (TSX–V: CRE). Following the June 2025 purchase of 313 adjoining claims (~167 km²) from Li–FT Power, the Company now controls ~212.86 km² and roughly 50 km of prospective basin margins. Power Metallic is expanding mineralization at the Nisk and Lion discovery zones, evaluating the Tiger target, and exploring the enlarged land package through successive drill programs. Beyond the Nisk Project Area, Power Metallic indirectly has an interest in significant land packages in British Columbia and Chile, by its 50% share ownership position in Chilean Metals Inc., which were spun out from Power Metallic via a plan of arrangement on February 3, 2025. Meet the Host of "My Southern Home," Kimberly Greenwell
Share with your friends! Pinterest LinkedIn Email Flipboard Reddit With a lifelong passion for media and homes, Kimberly Greenwell has built a career that blends both. She's a home expert, realtor, and the host of My Southern Home. Now in its 20th season, her Nashville-based TV show educates and inspires viewers to create their dream spaces. Get to know this powerhouse FACE of the South! Pin You have a lot going on! How would you describe yourself in a few sentences? That is a hard question; there are two sides to every coin. Everyone's a little different from nine to five than they are with friends. I hope people find me friendly, open, and helpful in both environments. Giving is part of my love language. I love sharing my home with friends and family, cooking for them, and using my favorite glassware and platters. It is my happy place! Tell us about the path that led to My Southern Home. My path has led me directly (and sometimes indirectly) to where I needed to be, like little stepping stones. When I started my own business, one of my first clients was the Home Builders Association of Louisville. It wasn't until this moment that I realized how much I loved homes — everything about them, from footers and framing to the finished and staged design. I was the publicist for all of their consumer-driven events. In 2015, a local television station asked me to host and produce a local television home show. At that moment, an old love and a new love joined: broadcast television and homes. My life hasn't been the same since. What's your favorite thing about hosting the show? My favorite part about what I do is helping people! Once, I was at a restaurant with a girlfriend, and a viewer came up to me and shared how thankful she was. She was remodeling her home, and I helped her find the right contractors and figure out what she wanted in her kitchen. That is my 'why,' and my goal with every show is to educate and inspire on everything 'home.' Pin What's the most challenging aspect of what you do? I'm the executive producer and host of the show, so part of my duties as the executive producer is to schedule and organize the shoots for the spring and fall seasons. I manage the entire schedule, from the topics to where and who we are taping. For seven years, we produced 48 to 50 episodes a year and traveled back and forth between Louisville and Nashville. It was grueling and a lot to keep up with. Now, we produce half the episodes in just Nashville, and it feels like a breeze. What are you working on or excited about right now? I am really proud of the My Southern Home Tour of Homes. For two years, I have organized a scatter-site new construction home tour. The homes are all over Middle Tennessee and in various price ranges. Homeownership looks different to everyone and starts at different price ranges. That is why I have townhomes and single-family homes that people can tour at various price ranges. I have already started working on next year. Pin What do you like to do outside of work? I love hanging out with friends, volunteering, exploring Nashville, and spending time with my dog, Bailey. What's one thing you want people to know about you? Sometimes, people get intimidated by the fact that I'm in a lot of luxury homes and think I have certain expectations of what a home should look like. But I wish they knew that for over 20 years, I lived in a one-bedroom condo that I bought in my twenties, working at WAVE 3-TV. I loved my condo; it was home, and I made it home by filling it with items that brought me joy. A person's home should bring them joy and make them feel safe; it doesn't matter what the square footage is or the thread count of the sheets. It is all about the feeling it gives you. What's your favorite piece of advice for folks who are building or remodeling? Be authentically you. If you want a purple kitchen, paint it purple. If you want a small home, get a small home. Don't design your home or your life around what others think. It is your home and your life, so create the home and life you want. Pin What is your proudest accomplishment? People thought I would fall 'flat on my face' when I started My Southern Home in 2017. In 2021, I had not one, but four television shows. More than one person said downsizing to Nashville would be my biggest mistake. I work one-on-one with buyers to find their dream homes, have two successful home tours under my belt, and have a social life. I am helping more people one-on-one and love the life I am building here. Pin What's the best advice you've ever received? My boss, Nick Ulmer, the General Manager at WAVE 3-TV, always told me, 'You don't get 100% of the things you don't ask for.' I left WAVE 3-TV in 2007, and I say this to myself every time I'm scared to pursue something. You will never regret going after something and falling short, but you will always regret the what-if that comes with not going after a dream. Aside from faith, family, and friends, name three things you can't live without. First is my dog Bailey. He is a three-year-old Morkie, and I can't imagine life without him. This second one might sound odd, but downtime. I need time to myself to unwind and recharge. And I love adventure! I love weekend getaways to places I have never been to and experiencing new things. ********** Southern women are doing inspiring work. Meet more of them over at our FACES archives! Montreal actor focused on directing but has ideas for ‘White Lotus' after breakout performance
Since her breakout role in Season 3 of HBO's hit dramedy White Lotus, acting offers have been pouring in for Charlotte Le Bon. But for now, the Montreal native is just not interested. 'Making films is my main focus more than acting, to be honest,' Le Bon said during a sit-down interview in Toronto Thursday. Le Bon recently returned from the Cannes Film Festival, where she held meetings in search of a financing partner for her sophomore feature — a still-untitled Montreal-shot drama exploring themes of loss. 'It's autobiographique,' says the bilingual actor, reluctant to reveal too much. 'It's a very, very personal movie and I think the goal is to try to make a very light-hearted movie on grief. It's a challenge, but that's what I'm aiming for.' Story continues below advertisement The Montreal-based Le Bon was in town for Bell Media's 2025-26 programming showcase, where Etalk hosts interviewed her during a splashy event for media buyers about the last season of The White Lotus, which streams on Crave. In Mike White's eat-the-rich anthology series she plays Chloe, a socially savvy French-Canadian expat living in Thailand with her much older boyfriend, and the series' main antagonist, Greg, who now goes by 'Gary.' She's seemingly unaware of Greg's history: in Season 2, he pulled off a plot to murder his wife Tanya, played by Jennifer Coolidge, in order to inherit her wealth. Le Bon says she was ready to take a hiatus from acting when she was offered the White Lotus role. Though she'd built a successful career — with roles opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the 2015 biographical drama The Walk and Christian Bale in the 2016 war epic The Promise — her passion had shifted to working behind the camera. Her 2023 horror-romance Falcon Lake, which she directed and co-wrote, premiered at Cannes to strong critical acclaim. 4:29 Eric reviews The Promise 'I was thinking about taking a break from acting because I was like, 'Oh, I don't know if I still like it.' I was just asking myself some questions about it… I sometimes played characters that were not really inspiring for me for some reason,' she says. Story continues below advertisement 'And then White Lotus arrived and I was like, 'There's no way I can not do this. It's just an amazing opportunity'… Between the moment where I sent the self-tape and the moment I was in the plane flying to Thailand, there were probably like 10 days.' Get daily National news Get the day's top news, political, economic, and current affairs headlines, delivered to your inbox once a day. Sign up for daily National newsletter Sign Up By providing your email address, you have read and agree to Global News' Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy Le Bon says the experience of being part of such a pop-culture juggernaut was hard to wrap her head around. 'It's kind of overwhelming when you're taking part in such an important thing in culture. Even when it started to come out, when I started to see memes on it on social media, it was really exciting,' she says. While acting isn't her current focus, Le Bon says she would be down to return for Season 4 — and has some ideas about how it could play out. 'If their relationship is based on true love, which I think it is, then maybe she'll come back with Greg, because Greg has to come back, for sure,' she says. Le Bon muses that Chloe could be Greg's accomplice or even the one who serves him his inevitable comeuppance. 'She could either become Greg's ally and they can be like a duo of villains, or she can maybe be the one who will create the karma for Greg. Maybe she'll give it to him,' she says. Story continues below advertisement 'He has to get it at some point, so we'll see what happens.' 2:07 The Canadian composer behind 'The White Lotus' soundtrack While Chloe's relationship with Greg may seem transactional on the surface, Le Bon argues the two share a deeper 'understanding' of one another. 'I think what she likes in this relationship is she thinks she's found a way to be free… just by spending a lot of money and partying and having sex with whoever she wants,' Le Bon says. 'I think they find an agreement by the end of the season where it's clear that's her intention and maybe he can take part in this and have fun with it as well.' If that setup sounds peculiar, Le Bon says that's just the kind of thing that interests her. Story continues below advertisement 'There needs to be a singular aspect to a part that really inspires me in order for me to move my butt and be an actress again,' she says. 'It needs to be weird.'
