Warm Mother's Day forecast, showers return for start of the workweek
A great forecast on tap for Mother's Day. We'll still have sunshine and high clouds and temperatures will warm to around 80 degrees.
Overnight, a few showers will move into the area as the cut-off low to our south drifts northward into the Ohio Valley.
This will keep scattered showers and perhaps some thundershowers around through the day on Monday. It'll be mostly cloudy and temperatures a touch cooler, in the mid 70s.
Showers should decrease for Monday night but some will redevelop along and east of the Mississippi River on Tuesday.
After this low has pulled farther away from the St. Louis region, summer temperatures build into the area. We'll have highs in the mid 80s to low 90s Wednesday through Friday.
Some slight rain chances return late in the week as a cold front drops south into the area.

Heat Related Dangers this Summer
(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — As we enter the summer months, high temperatures are only going to continue climbing. June marks the start of the Meteorological Summer, and it's the time of year when we begin to see temperatures consistently reaching the upper-80s, and in some parts of Southern Colorado, even the 90s. In a region as active as Southern Colorado, it's no surprise that more and more people will be heading outside. Whether it's hiking, running, walking, or just enjoying the outdoors, summer is when the outdoors really come alive. But with that increased time outside comes an important reminder and message: heat can be dangerous. As temperatures rise and outdoor activity increases, so do the risks. It's essential to recognize that heat isn't just uncomfortable, it can be deadly. In fact, heat-related deaths are the number one weather-related killer, and that number has only been growing. Over the last 20 years, data shows a steady increase in these deaths, with average yearly numbers continuing to climb over the past five years on average. The most effective way to prevent heat-related illness and deaths is through awareness. Understanding the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke can make all the difference. These are two distinct heat-related conditions, but both are extremely serious. Recognizing the warning signs early and taking the right precautions could truly save a life. As we enjoy all that summer has to offer, don't forget to take care of yourself and those around you. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Lake Jacksonville, Lake Tyler temporarily closes due to heavy rainfall
TYLER, Texas (KETK)– Lake Jacksonville, Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East announced Thursday morning that they have all temporarily closed due to heavy rainfall and high water levels. According to the City of Jacksonville, the lake is currently closed to the public until further notice because of high water levels to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. 'Please be advised that high water levels may be present on some area roadways,' the city said. 'Motorists are urged to exercise caution and avoid driving through standing or moving water.' Thursday Morning Forecast: Another round of storms The City of Tyler said Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East has temporarily closed all public boat ramps because of boating hazards resulting from debris washed into the lakes by the recent rains and to reduce damage from the shoreline erosion caused by boat wakes. City officials explained that the ramps will be closed until further notice and Tyler Water Utilities anticipates reopening the ramps once lake levels lowers.
