How to transfer a gallery wall layout from the floor
Q. I read your recent column on how to arrange the perfect gallery wall. Do you have any tips on transferring the arrangement from the floor to the wall?Anna, Lewes
A. I'm pleased you asked this question — I loved sharing my knowledge of gallery walls, so it's great I get to do part two.
In my first column on the subject, we discussed that to enjoy viewing art, our subconscious brain first needs to find links and patterns within our gallery wall, such as frame colour, art style and layout.
Once you have a layout planned, I would arrange the pictures on the floor, take photos of the layout, then move it to the wall (as L Smith suggested in the comments

Nintendo Switch 2 live: Last chance to pre-order a console as release date nears
We're days away from the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, and excitement is starting to set in. This is your last chance to pre-order a console before the big day. Some retailers have already pulled listings (and, in Game's case, pre-orders themselves), and others are still drip-feeding bundles. I'm seeing fewer choices out there now, but you have options. For example, there will be midnight launches across the country. Every Smyths Toys shop will open at 12am for early pick-ups, with a little extra stock on hand for the first few through the door. Currys is running its own launch event too, but only at the Oxford Street store and just for customers who've already pre-ordered a console. However, I've been tracking bundles for weeks, and Nintendo Switch 2 stock is dwindling as we get closer to the big day. If you're chasing down a console, camp out right here. I'll be hunting down every Nintendo Switch 2 console and bundle so you can play Mario Kart World from day one. If you want to buy a console ASAP, here are your best bets right now: Nintendo Switch 2 stock at UK retailers Nintendo Switch 2 launches this week Good morning! Launch week has finally arrived! It's been a long wait – more than four months since the gaming giant first announced the console – but the Nintendo Switch 2 is finally landing this Thursday on 5 June. If you're still hunting down the console, there are only two retailers with stock available right now – Amazon and Very. I'll be rounding up all the consoles and bundles and their delivery dates throughout the day, as well as reporting on the latest Nintendo Switch 2 news, and watching for more stock drops. Stay tuned. EXCLUSIVE Coronation Street star hints he's ALREADY signed up for Celebrity Big Brother after Jack P Shepherd was crowned series champion
Coronation Street star Ben Price has hinted he may be the next soap name to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house, after co-star Jack P Shepherd was crowned series champion. The actor, 53, who plays Nick Tilsey on the ITV soap, has seen his close pals and co-stars Jack and Colson Smith previously take part in the famous show. Speaking to MailOnline on the red carpet at Saturday's Soap Awards alongside Colson and Jack, Ben quipped that it's 'already signed off' that he'll be joining CBB next year. Jack was crowned series champion after beating runner-up Danny Beard in April's final, with JoJo Siwa finishing in third place. Speaking about returning to work after the win, Jack told MailOnline: 'When you come back, everyone's exactly the same. Everyone said it was great. It was a surprise, the aim wasn't to win.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The actor was nominated by his fellow celebrity housemates quite a few times, which he insisted was because he told them he didn't care if he was up for eviction. He explained: 'I was only one that wasn't bothered if I was nominated. I said to them, it's fine.' The trio, who are continuing to host their On The Sofa podcast, also reflected on Colson's heartbreaking exit from the soap, after his character Craig Tinker was tragically killed off last month. Colson said: 'It was weird, there's been quite a lot of like milestones to get over and weirdly the last day was quite an enjoyable thing because you've worked so hard for it to come to that point and you're kind of saying goodbye to something that's been such a big part of your life. 'But we had a really nice day, I was lucky Jack and Ben were there and my family came into work. I had a really nice last scene, I was in Roy's Rolls with a nice group of people.' The best and brightest in serial drama were in attendance for the British Soap Awards on Saturday, with the ceremony set to be broadcast on ITV on June 5. It was the BBC 's EastEnders that cleaned up on the night with eight awards while Hollyoaks received three, Emmerdale two and Coronation Street only one. They kicked off their wins with Best Episode which went to Phil's Psychosis: The Mitchells In 1985. EastEnders also won Scene of the Year for Angie Watts' Shock Return while Navin Chowdhry won Best Villain for his role of Nish Panesar. Steve McFadden, who plays fan favourite Phil Mitchell, won the Best Dramatic Performance award while Patsy Palmer won Best Comedic Performance for her role as Bianca Jackson. Rudolph Walker & Angela Wynter (Patrick & Yolande Trueman) delivered another win for EastEnders as they won Best On-Screen Partnership. Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, won the Best Leading Performer Award and EastEnders also won the most coveted award of all: Best British Soap. Hollyoaks' three awards started with Isabelle Smith who won Best Newcomer for her role as Frankie Osborne. The Osbornes then won the Best Family award while Hollyoaks' sibling sexual abuse storyline received the Best Storyline award. Emmerdale's Amelia Flanagan won Best Young Performer for playing April Windsor while camera operator Mike Plant took home the Tony Warren Award which is given to employees working behind the scenes. Coronation Street's sole gong of the night was the Outstanding Achievement Award which went to David Neilson who has played Roy Cropper for 30 years. Gavin & Stacey fans stunned as two beloved stars 'reunite' in new BBC murder mystery - gasping 'how am I supposed to take this seriously?!'
Gavin & Stacey fans were left stunned as two beloved stars 'reunited' in a new BBC murder mystery. The six-part series, titled Death Valley, premiered last month and sees DS Janine Mallowan (Gwyneth Keyworth) join up with TV detective John Chapel (Timothy Spall). It airs every Sunday, and the most recent instalment caught the attention of some viewers. During the episode, DS Janine received a call from her mother, Yvonne, who revealed a member of her walking group had been found dead on a trail. Yvonne was played by Gavin & Stacey star Melanie Walters and her appearance in the new murder series came as a pleasant surprise to fans. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Melanie portrayed Gwen West in Gavin & Stacey, a widowed mother with two children. But she wasn't the only star from the popular sitcom to feature in Death Valley. DS Janine's manager, DCI Barry Clarke, is played by Steffan Rhodri who starred as bus driver Dave Coaches in the BBC comedy. Fans recognised the pair and took to social media to share their surprise. One posted on X: 'Not sure I can take #DeathValley seriously what with Dave coaches as a copper & now Gwen… All we need next is Ness appearing.' Another added: 'Dave coaches and Gwen?! When is Nessa going to make an appearance?! #deathvalley.' While according to the Express, someone else penned: 'OMG Gwen and Dave Coaches!' One fan spotted Steffan in the first episode and posted: 'Lol Dave coaches #deathvalley.' Others praised the new series and gushed: 'Absolutely loving #DeathValley on BBC One. So much fun and comedy, Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth are just brilliant! Series 2 please!' Fans recognised the pair and took to social media to share their surprise, while others praised the new series However, the first instalment was hit with some backlash from viewers who last week switched off the broadcaster's new crime drama 'after five minutes' and complained 'this is absolute rubbish'. One posted on X: '#deathvalley #BBC is so dreadful on every level. The woman detective is beyond irritating and embarrassing.' 'The problems with comedy police programs like this is how they suddenly come up with such a long winded explanation of the murder without actually showing us during the program how they would come to it. #deathvalley,' another penned.
