Spurs' Carter Bryant volunteered at a back-to-school event in San Antonio

A post shared by Spurs Way (@spursway) San Antonio Spurs rookie forward Carter Bryant was among the players who volunteered at a back-to-school event on Sunday, benefiting the local youth in the community. Bryant was joined by teammate Luke Kornet at the event, which assisted with school supplies, health screenings and enrollment. They were pictured passing out paper, binders, hats and other related materials while providing positive interactions with the children and adults in attendance. The offseason period is an excellent chance for incoming rookies to get to know their respective markets and communities. He also recently volunteered with Dylan Harper and Riley Minix by serving food at Haven for Hope, a homeless shelter. Bryant helped Arizona to the Sweet 16 last season, averaging 6.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and one assist on 37.1% shooting from 3-point range. He scored in double figures five times, including a season-high-tying 14 points, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks on Jan. 27. The 19-year-old logged six appearances with the Spurs in summer league, averaging 7.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 assists on 28.6% shooting from the field. He wrapped up his stay with a 16-point, five-rebound performance on July 17. Bryant appears to have ingratiated himself well within the local community after joining the organization in June. He has had the opportunity to give back and likely picked up some new fans along the way.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Michigan State Spartans and head coach Tom Izzo were good last season, but they didn't have quite enough talent to make a Final Four run in the NCAA Tournament. When all was said and done for the 2024-25 college basketball season, the Spartans finished with a 30-7 overall record that included a 17-3 record in Big Ten play. They entered the tournament as a No. 2 seed. In the tournament, Michigan State defeated No. 15 Bryant in the first round, No. 10 New Mexico in the second, and No. 6 Ole Miss in the Sweet 16. Unfortunately, they fell to the No. 1-seeded Auburn Tigers in the Elite Eight. As shared by Joe Tipton of Rivals, Costello has narrowed down his list of potential schools to six teams. One of those teams is the Spartans. They will be battling with the Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, North Carolina Tar Heels, Purdue Boilermakers, and Minnesota Golden Gophers to land his commitment. Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Costello stands in at 6-foot-10 and 195 pounds. He has attended The New School and is one of the most sought after recruits currently available in the 2026 class. While there are five other schools competing for his services, Izzo's presence gives Michigan State a fighting chance. Chuma Okeke signs contract with Real Madrid ahead of next season

Former Auburn basketball star Chuma Okeke will be taking his talents to Spain next season. The former first-round NBA draft pick signed a contract to play with Real Madrid next season, ending his five-year run in the NBA. A member of Auburn's first Final Four team in 2019, Okeke was a breakout star in the NCAA Tournament before suffering a brutal knee injury in the Sweet 16 against North Carolina. The sophomore collected double-digit points in each of the three contests he appeared in, culminating in a 20-point, 11-rebound effort to lead Auburn over the top-seeded Tarheels. The injury caused uncertainty around the star's draft prospects, but the Orlando Magic still selected him in the first round, at pick No. 16. Okeke spent four seasons with Orlando to begin his career before playing with the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers last season. While a return to the association is still on the table for the 26-year-old forward, he could choose to stay oversees after seeing the success of former teammates Jared Harper and Austin Wiley, as well as former Tiger Wendell Green, in the EuroBasket curcuit. When Okeke touches down in Spain, he'll join a Real Madrid squad that has reached the EuroLeague Final Four in six of the last seven seasons. The roster features many former NBA players, including Mario Hezonja, Théo Maledon, Bruno Fernando, and Facundo Campazzo.
