NFL says it didn't hide JC Tretter grievance ruling from owners and key team personnel
In response to my suggestion that the outcome of the grievance regarding former NFLPA president (and current NFLPA chief strategy officer) JC Tretter's suggestion that disgruntled players fake injuries was hidden by the league from its teams, the NFL sent this statement: 'Not accurate as the league fulfilled its responsibility by informing ownership and key personnel. The league presented the results of the grievance to ownership and club personnel at the March league meetings in Palm Beach. Coaches and GMs were briefed on the decision and its impact during a session the first day of the meetings. Ownership was told in a separate meeting.'
That said, we previously asked a G.M. about the fake-injury grievance. After he said, 'Fake injury grievance?? Remind me?' I said, 'Tretter suggested running backs should fake injuries. League filed a grievance.'
The response from the G.M.? 'I don't know anything about that.'
Even if the ruling was showcased during the March league meetings in Palm Beach, nothing was reported about it until today. This clear victory for the league wasn't leaked to most-favored-nation reporters like Mark Maske of the Washington Post or, you know, any of the reporters who are employed directly by the league.
It was a win. A slam dunk. Why would the NFL hide it?
And while the league insists it wasn't hidden from the teams, it was hidden from the public. And it dovetails nicely with the NFLPA hiding the collusion ruling.
In this context, it's more of an NFLPA problem, in our view, than an NFL problem. Still, the NFL downplayed its win. Why would the NFL do that, if it wasn't getting something in return. Something like, say, the NFLPA downplaying its partial victory in the collusion case?

A BBC journalist who was in the area around 18:45 reported seeing multiple police and fire vehicles, before seeing a man being wheeled away from the building on a stretcher. He had bandages on his chest. Bystanders at the scene reported hearing what sounded like gunshots and police told those in the area, including the BBC journalist, to shelter in nearby buildings. Mama Bouhenni, who was working at the nearby Sip & Scoop coffee shop as the incident unfolded, told the BBC she saw dozens of people from the surrounding buildings being evacuated. They held their hands above their heads, she said. Ms Bouhenni said she recognised many of them as her customers. "This is so terrifying for them, I hope they can go home safe."

3 dead, including off-duty police officer, in Midtown Manhattan shooting: Sources A man wearing body armor and carrying a high-powered rifle shot and killed three people, including an off-duty police officer working security in Midtown Manhattan, sources told ABC News. The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on Monday in an office building located at 345 Park Ave. and 52nd Street, sources said, which contains the headquarters for the investment company Blackstone and the National Football League, sources said. It is unclear if those companies, or any company in the building, were tied to the shooting. After apparently barricading himself on the 33rd floor, the suspect was found dead from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, sources added. The motive is currently under investigation, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said. Surveillance footage captured the suspect outside the building, according to sources. Some of the employees inside 345 Park Ave. were advised that the threat "has been resolved," but were asked to only leave the building with a police escort, according to a message sent to employees. "Some went out in the back door, out onto the street. Other people, including me, we ran into the conference room and then eventually barricaded the tables across the doors and just stayed still," Chen said. "I texted my parents 'I love them,'" Chen said. "Nothing can describe that feeling." Chen went on to say that she recalled doing active shooter drills in school and said she often wondered what she would do in this kind of scenario.
