London is set to go cat crazy this summer when one of the UK's most dazzling feline events arrives in the capital. The Fancy Cats London SpeCATular will transform the University of Greenwich's Avery Hill campus into a paradise for cat lovers on August 30 and 31. The event promises a celebration of all things feline, with pedigree breeds and household cats competing for titles, prizes, and the coveted Best in Show. Visitors can meet breeders, chat with exhibitors, and learn about different breeds in a friendly, interactive setting. Stephen Whiting, an exhibitor from Sidcup, said: "I love the friendly atmosphere at these shows and really enjoy letting the visitors meet my cats and giving them the opportunity to learn about the different breeds. "My cats enjoy meeting the people who come to visit and saying 'hello' to everybody there. "I have quite rare breeds that perhaps not many people know much about so it is a good opportunity to raise their profile and to allow a new audience to discover them." The show will feature well-known breeds such as British, Persian, Bengal, Maine Coon, Siamese, Ragdoll, Cornish Rex, and Ocicat. Mr Whiting will be showing his chocolate spotted Ocicat, Lottie, and his black classic tabby Aztec, Laurence. The event isn't just for pedigree cats. The Fancy Cats Organisation hosts events across the UK, giving the public a chance to meet cats, talk to breeders, and experience the excitement of the show. The London event will run from 10am to 4pm on both days. Activities will include breed presentations, children's activities, cat rescue stalls, and vendors selling cat-related products.

The moment an owner captured her cat staring at a photo on the wall left viewers in a puddle of tears when they learned which picture made him stop in his tracks. TikTok user @ said the family's 13-year-old German shepherd, Rocco, recently crossed over the rainbow bridge. His absence left a giant hole in their hearts, especially for their cat, Louie, as he's navigating a new normal without his friend. Pets often feel the loss of humans or other animals because the structure and dynamic of the family changes, according to an article from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Like humans, pets who live together bond. Grieving pets might show new behaviors, such as searching for lost sibling, increase or decrease of vocalization, changes in amount of attention wanted, appetite, mood and personality. @ Our beautiful 13 year old German Shepherd, Rocco, went to heaven on 7/11/25. I caught our sweet cat, Louie, just sitting on the edge of the couch staring at Rocco's picture. We are all grieving the loss of our furry family member. Animals share our emotions, love them while you have them. We all miss him so very much.💔pets germanshepherd catspetloss petlossgrief petlosssupport furbabies ♬ Feelings - Jurrivh In the July 26 TikTok video, the owner captured a heartbreaking moment of the cat missing his friend. A picture of Rocco hanging on the wall grabbed Louie's attention. He climbed onto the couch and stood on the edge, getting as close as possible to see Rocco's smiling face. Louie paused, then lowered himself all the way to the couch. Stretching out his paws, he reached for his sibling's picture. The owner shared in the comment section: "I appreciate everyone's comments, my heart is so broken. I was in awe just watching this moment, sobbing my heart out. Sad, yet so beautiful to see the love we all share with one another. Pets are family, this dog was our baby boy. His absence is gut-wrenching." The TikTok video reached 167,600 views and 31,400 likes as of Thursday, as viewers rushed to the comment section with their condolences. And hugs to you and the Kitty too," one person wrote. Another added: "We don't deserve animals. Their love is so pure and unconditional. This has me crying!" Adorable German Shepherd Shows Off Hilariously Masterful Box Flattening Skills

Adorable German Shepherd Shows Off Hilariously Masterful Box Flattening Skills originally appeared on PetHelpful. Some dogs are able to do some pretty wild and impressive tricks. And why not? After all, our canine companions can be some pretty intelligent creatures when they want to be. Or at least some of them can be. There are also those dogs who seem to possess an unintentional genius for doing certain things, like flattening cardboard boxes. Take the adorable German Shepherd in this video, for instance. He is nothing short of a box flattening master, LOL! As this video shows, this German Shepherd possesses tremendous box flattening instincts and intuition. Right off the bat, this guy knows that this box is much smaller than he is, and that's about demolishing it by simply walking into and lying down side of it like he's a cat. That easily took down one of the boxes' walls. And like any good dog, he looked up at the camera/his human with an expression of joyous pride. It's as though he were trying to say, 'Hey, did you see that? Aren't I doing a good job?' He then lifts one of his massive paws and puts it right down on the corner of the box, tearing right through it like a karate master chopping a board in then gets up and rolls around to flatten that side of the box even more. Two walls down, two to go. For the third wall, this guy decides to use the classic canine technique of biting at the corner and tearing it apart. And of course, he has the sweetest look on his face while he does it. At the end, with this box completely demolished, he looks up at his human, the box in his mouth, eager for approval and as adorable as can be! This German Shepherd Struggles With Larger Boxes As this other video shows, as impressive as this German Shepherd's box flattening skills are, larger boxes are still a tricky undertaking for him. He walks right into this box and sits down, like before, but this time, this box is bigger and sturdier than the other one. He fits perfectly, sitting up inside of it. However, he quickly realizes what needs to be done and attempts to lie down inside the box, breaking through one of its corners. He then gets up and attempts to pull the same move again, but it doesn't work quite the same way, with his legs and tail spilling out of the broken end of the box. Quite comically, he ends up falling out of the box, lying on his belly and looking up into the camera, as though to say, 'I don't get it? What did I do wrong?' There is no doubt that his box flattening skills are impressive, but as the second video shows, he still has a lot to learn when it comes to breaking down bigger boxes, LOL.
