The 2025 Westminster Dog Show is over, and we have a Best in Show winner! This one joins the prestigious list of the winners of Best in Show in the 2000s. Out of all the winners of the groups came Monty the Giant Schnauzer, who was declared Best in Show at Madison Square Garden defeating others like a Whippet, a German Shepherd, a Shih Tzu, a Bichon Frise, an English Springer Spaniel and Skye Terrier. Bulldogs, poodles, retrievers and hounds: See photos from 2025 Westminster Dog Show The 2025 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is underway, with pups strutting their stuff and showing off their skills. This year marks the 149th show for the annual event in which thousands of dogs compete in categories including show, and other competitions including agility, obedience and dock diving. The show kicked off Saturday and ends today, Feb. 11. Monday kicked off the first day of judging to find the seven dogs that will ultimately compete for Best in Show at the 2025 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the second-oldest continuously held sporting event in the United States. Dogs will compete against others in their designated group, being evaluated based on a detailed standard which outlines the ideal characteristics in various areas, such as height, weight, coat type, colors, eye shape and color, ear shape, feet, tail and more. The top 201 dogs, recognized as Best of Breed, will advance to the Best in Group competitions. From there, the top dogs will compete for the prestigious Best in Show title. Javits Convention Center in New York with judging of individual breeds before heading to Madison Square Garden, where one dog was selected to represent the Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding Groups. Westminster Dog Show 2025 results: Winners for every group
The 2025 Westminster Dog Show in Manhattan is in full swing. That means we're learning the winners of each of the seven groups (as you may or may not know: each breed has a winner, and each of those dogs then compete for the group title. Then all the group winners compete for Best in Show on Tuesday night. Got it?). That would be: Herding, Sporting, Non-Sporting, Hound, Terrier, Toy and Working. And after Day 1, we have a few of the group winners named by judges. The rest will be named on Tuesday night before the Best in Show judging.
