Over 10,000 appear for Haryana CET at 44 centres in Panchkula
A total of 10,760 applicants appeared.
Deputy commissioner Monika Gupta said the district administration made comprehensive arrangements to ensure convenience for candidates. For those arriving from outside Panchkula, feeder buses were deployed at intervals of 3 to 4 minutes to ferry them to their respective exam centres on time. After the exam, candidates were similarly transported back to the bus stand, from where they departed for their destinations.
The DC also visited several examination centres to oversee the arrangements.
Coaching centres and photocopy shops to remain closed tomorrow
The DC also announced that all coaching institutes and photocopy shops will remain closed on July 27 due to the ongoing CET exams. Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) will remain in effect around the examination centres to ensure order and discipline.
Special transport arranged for candidate who missed bus
When a candidate from Thapli village missed her bus and contacted the control room helpline (0172-2566262), prompt action was taken by SDM and traffic in-charge Chandrakant Kataria. A special vehicle was arranged, and the candidate was safely transported to her exam centre in Yamunanagar.
In another case, around 50 candidates arrived at the Panchkula bus stand whose exam centres were located in Manimajra (outside Panchkula).
The administration arranged a special feeder bus to transport all of them to their respective centres on time.
Differently-abled candidates from Panchkula district had their exam centres in Chandigarh. The district administration contacted each candidate individually to understand their needs. Those who requested assistance were picked up from their homes, taken to the exam centres, and dropped back after the examination, ensuring complete support throughout the process.
Buses engaged
To transport candidates from Panchkula to Yamunanagar, a total of 60 buses were dispatched from six key locations. As many as 236 buses were used to bring candidates from Karnal and Kaithal districts to Panchkula for the CET.
Panchkula DCP Srishti Gupta helped a CET 2025 candidate reach his correct examination centre just minutes before the entry gates were set to close. One such instance occurred when a candidate mistakenly arrived at Bhavan Vidyalaya in Sector 15, thinking it was his designated exam centre. After failing to find his name on the roll number list and repeatedly checking with officials, the candidate panicked, realising his actual centre was another school in the same sector.
Acting swiftly, the DCP directed her escort team to immediately transport the student to his correct centre. The student reached just in time and was able to sit for his exam.
