Panicked Rangers pundits uncover Russell Martin truth as Kris Boyd 'worries' spiral after Plzen

Rangers saw off Vikrotia Plzen to progress in the Champions League and reach the playoff round.
But after carrying a three goal advantage into the second leg things were far from straightforward.
The Czechs passed up countless opportunities as they dominated the second leg on home turf - but Lyall Cameron's goal in a 2-1 defeat proved to be enough to put the game beyond the hosts.

It's now onto Club Brugge despite a nervy night in a shoot-out for the £40million jackpot in the league phase.
And Kris Boyd admits he is concerned about the defensive issues that are already creeping into the Light Blues' game.
He told Sky Sports: "I think when you get to this stage, the main thing is just to get through, but once again it's a worry for me - and it will be a worry for Russell Martin - the two goals are really poor defensively.
"Jefte for the first one, and it looks like they got off the back of Joe Rothwell for the second.
"The work was done in the first leg, they managed to get that away goal and settle themselves down again."
Concerned Stephen Thompson reckons that a better team than Plzen would have sent the Scottish Premiership side out of the competition.
He told BBC Sportsound: "The performance wasn't good. What he (Russell Martin) will be satisfied with is the job that they did at Ibrox, but the performance just wasn't there tonight.
"If they were playing against a better quality of team they could have lost this game, it could have gone to extra-time with the chances they missed.
"Credit (Jack) Butland with one incredible save, but they can't afford to play like that against whoever comes through into the playoff game.
"You guarantee they won't pass up those kinds of gifts. I don't think the performance was good, but the job was done at Ibrox."
Ian McCall shared the concerns over the backline and Martin's style of play, adding: "I think it's really important to have principles, but for me you have got to be flexible.
"But when you have got principles you don't have to rip everything up. You can tweak it a little bit just to get through a game, but Russell Martin appears to not want to do that.
"He had a tough time in the Premier League, but he's had success. I think it's really good to be strong and have your beliefs, but it's okay to tweak it."

New chapter. After ten years at Bayern Munich, Kingsley Coman is leaving Germany, heading to Saudi Arabia. Al-Nassr has indeed officially announced this Friday the signing of the 29-year-old French winger! The Saudi club reportedly spent between 30 and 35 million euros. The French international will be well accompanied, as he will reunite at Al-Nassr with Sadio Mané, João Félix... and Cristiano Ronaldo! Tottenham Hotspur Are Showing Interest In Premier League Playmaker: One For The Future?

In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Sebastien Vidal mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Brighton and Hove Albion playmaker Facundo Buonanotte this summer. It has been revealed that Spurs are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Argentine youngster in this transfer window. Buonanotte's Impressive Loan Spell In English Football Buonanotte enjoyed a decent loan spell at Leicester City last season after he produced a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 20-year-old found the back of the net six times and earned three assists in 35 matches for the Foxes in the previous campaign across all fronts. The Argentine talent caught the eye at times in the opponent's half as he averaged 2.13 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He was even accurate when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass success rate of 76.4% in the English first division (stats via Buonanotte's current contract with his parent club Brighton will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won't be easy for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap in this transfer window. LEICESTER, ENGLAND – DECEMBER 03: Facundo Buonanotte of Leicester City is challenged by Aaron Wan-Bissaka of West Ham United during the Premier League match between Leicester City FC and West Ham United FC at The King Power Stadium on December 03, 2024 in Leicester, England. (Photo by) Tottenham Hotspur Are Showing Interest In Buonanotte: Is He A Prospect For The Future? Buonanotte is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it in and around the opponent's penalty area. He can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for others around him up top. However, the Argentine whizkid is still quite raw and would need time before he can be a consistent performer in the Premier League. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. We can expect Buonanotte to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank's frontline. He is good enough to serve as a decent squad player for the North London club in the coming seasons. At 20, the future looks quite bright for Buonanotte as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Spurs would be wise to snap him up this summer.
