Clippers' James Harden accused of negligence in sexual assault case
According to the 18-page filing, Watley says she attended the New Year's Eve party with two of her friends and that she was sexually assaulted while unconscious by Justice Armani Blackburn, who is Harden's nephew.
Watley says her friends were later removed by Harden's security, even though she was still inside the residence. The friends then contacted Watley's sister, who in turn contacted Harden's sister, who is the mother of Blackburn. The lawsuit says the sister submitted a photo of Watley to Harden's security, who said that the woman inside was not Marisa Watley, despite the lawsuit alleging that Watley was indeed in the mansion at that time.
The negligence claim against Harden stems from the complaint alleging the conduct of Harden's in-home security, which they say failed to act responsibly in response to outside calls for help and could have prevented the sexual assault.
"Since New Year's Day, when I reported the rape by Mr. Blackburn to the police, I have remained puzzled by how Mr. Harden's security behaved that day--it is painful to imagine that this all could have been stopped in time. I hope this complaint pushes security employees generally to act more responsibly when women are in danger," Watley said in a statement.
Harden, 35, a 11-time NBA All-Star and six-time first-team All-NBA selection, just completed his second season with the Clippers, averaging 22.8 points, 8.7 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game.
"Ms. Watley has shown great strength and courage in coming forward to hold Mr. Blackburn and Mr. Harden accountable for what happened to her on New Year's Day 2025 in Mr. Harden's mansion. This rape was immediately reported to the police, and we will bring Mr. Blackburn and Mr. Harden to justice through the civil justice system," Watley attorneys, Michael J. Willemin, John S. Crain, and Jay Ellwanger and Kaylyn Betts said in a statement.

In the file seen by Daily Mail, Brooks alleged that Andrews - who is the mother to their two children aged five and two - had hacked into his social media accounts, destroyed his belongings and threatened to jeopardize his basketball career. The file shows that Brooks already had a restraining order against Andrews in place, which began in November 2024 and runs until the end of this month. Brooks claimed that he initially met Andrews back in a Las Vegas nightclub in 2018. He alleged that, after a brief period of dating, she became pregnant. He claims in the court paper that he was not informed directly about the pregnancy but, rather, found out via a social media post of a sonogram from Andrews. He asserts in the court paper that the harassment began shortly after she fell pregnant and that Andrews would send 'upwards of 100 messages' if he was not attentive on his phone. Brooks also claimed that Andrews would text him from 'burner phone numbers' in order to get his attention. After this period, Brooks claims that Andrews visited him in Toronto, apologized for her behavior and 'acted like a completely different person'. He later alleged that the change in attitude was just a 'rouse to get pregnant yet again' and part of the manipulation which he claims to have suffered in the court paper. Shortly after that, Andrews fell pregnant with Brooks' child again and, in his file, he claimed that quickly she became 'more aggressive and threatening' again. Text message screenshots included in the file, which Brooks alleged were sent by Andrews, read: 'I'll habe [sic] someone cut each one of your f***ing little fingers off one by one. 'So you can never play basketball LOL... And actually now I understand why people are racist.' Brooks also reportedly alleged that Andrews had made threats regarding his mother. He claimed she wrote: 'I'll send someone after your mom to [sic] b***h.' In a string of other horrific screenshots in the file, Brooks claimed that Andrews wrote: 'I really would consider not moving in that f***ing house because you're going to be at risk living there. I'll f*** that condo up too I'd change the locks if I were you'. He also alleged that Andrews 'vandalized' his house in Memphis after discovering that Brooks was dating another woman. He attached pictures of apparent vandalism inside the home. 'You Suck B***h' was written across one of the walls. Another text message screenshot included in the file, allegedly from Andrews, read: 'Got into your city national bank acct [sic] too lol. Want to see a real scam? 'I'll transfer money out your account into mine and say you did it'. In one of the most recent episodes of alleged harassment, Brooks alleged in the court document that Andrews had gained access to a co-parenting app and sent a 'criminal threat' message to herself. The alleged forged message read: 'Yo you're out your mind messaging me. I told you Mirna and I have a relationship. I don't give f*** about Mila and Luna or woulda been message you about this stuff. 'If you keep emailing or text it's going to be problems. I'll send someone to your crib to do something there will be no mom left. Mirna not scared she got the right people to come and f*** you up'. The name Mirna refers to an Instagram model - Mirna Habib - who Brooks has reportedly been dating in recent months. The NBA star also shared images of alleged vandalism from Andrews on his property Another screenshot allegedly showed Andrews threatening to take money from his bank account The file includes an alleged letter from the co-parenting app, OurFamilyWizard, which claimed 'an unauthorized individual(s) gained access' to his account. Brooks also claims in the court paper that Andrews had 'gained unauthorized access to my Apple iCloud account' and had boasted about her 'hacking' abilities. It's reported that, less than a year ago, Andrews obtained her own TRO against Brooks after alleging he had threatened her.

Mace-fueled catfight erupts in Uber after TV presenter asked Atlanta driver to roll up windows in 90F heat
A sports reporter claims she was violently assaulted and pepper-sprayed after asking her Uber driver to roll up the car windows during 90-degree heat. Tabitha Turner, an Atlanta based NBA and WNBA presenter, was travelling in the back of Mericole Smith's vehicle Saturday afternoon when the mace-fueled fight broke out. She asked Smith to roll up the windows and turn on the air conditioning, but the driver refused and demanded she exit the vehicle on the side of the highway, Turner claims. Video captured by the reporter shows how she pleaded with Smith, saying she 'just wanted a cool Uber', as the driver repeatedly said 'get out'. Smith said she always kept the windows of her car open so passengers who felt sick could vomit out of them instead of soiling her upholstery. 'Call the cops or refund my money,' the reporter told the visibly annoyed driver. The argument quickly became heated with Turner explaining how she 'requested a cool Uber' in the app. 'Get the f*** out of the car,' Smith yelled back, before she reached into the backseat and physically attacking Turner. 'What the f*** is wrong with you? You got no right.' Smith, who also allegedly deployed mace as she punched Turner in the face, has been charged with battery - but maintains Turner was the aggressor in the situation. Smith was driving northbound on I-85, after having picked Turner up from the Atlanta airport, when the argument first erupted 4pm Saturday. They were on the curve of an exit ramp, which police say is a 'dangerous place to load and unload passengers', when Smith ordered Turner out of the car. The reporter said she would get out once the ride was refunded, at which point Smith pepper sprayed and punched her, according to a police report obtained by WANF. Turner tried to deploy her own mace and started scratching Smith in self-defense, the report states. Smith allegedly tried to physically pull her out of the vehicle and the pair struggled on the side of the road. A passerby witnessed the scene and stopped to help. Police arrived shortly thereafter. Smith, who says she was 'covered in blood', was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver took to TikTok later that night to share her side of the story. Smith claimed she was 15 minutes away from Turner's requested drop-off destination when the reporter told her 'it's hot in here'. The driver claims 'I turned the A/C up, no questions asked', but Turner continued to complain. She says she explained that she keeps the windows 'cracked' in case her passengers get car sick, but Turner was not satisfied by her response. Smith further alleges Turner began to scream at her about how she was 'sweating' and had 'requested a comfort car' - a more upscale type of rideshare - but wasn't receiving that comfort-tier level service. The driver claims she told Turner she would 'take you back to where I picked you up from' and she could then request a new ride - but that 'was not good enough for her'. 'She is going off. She is irate in the backseat - trippin!' Smith told her followers, explaining that she then pulled over and told Turner to 'get out right here'. Smith claims this is when Turner demanded a refund, as seen in the now-viral video that the reporter had shared on her Instagram page. The driver alleges she informed her passenger that Uber would issue the refund and reiterated once again that she needed to get out of the car. 'In what world is it acceptable to sit in a stranger's car and then try to insinuate that you feel threatened after refusing to leave what you are perceiving as a a threat?' she asked her followers. Smith claims she flagged down another driver, asked them to call 911 and then opened the driver's side passenger door. 'She said 'b**** you think you're going to touch me?',' Smith recalled. 'No, but I actually want you to get out of the car. Can you please get out of the car? You're escalating this s*** for no reason.' She says that's when Turner 'goes into her bag to get a weapon', prompting her to get back inside the vehicle and sit in the driver's seat. Turner then continued to threaten her, Smith claims, so 'I proceeded to grab my mace and I maced the f*** out of her in self-defense.' She then revealed her bruised face and swollen left eye, which was originally hidden from view, to the camera, claiming that Turner 'tried to gouge my eye out'. Turner claims the allegations in Smith's video are not true and have caused her to receive violent threats. 'This is so hurtful that this is happening,' she said told press conference Wednesday, during which she was accompanied by her attorney. Turner explained she wanted a 'cool ride', like she had requested in the app, and that she did not exit the vehicle because she felt unsafe doing so in traffic. 'People questioning my character because of what she's saying,' she told WSB, noting the backlash from the incident has impacted her career opportunities. 'I just wanted to go home after work and see my daughter,' she added. Smith, however, says that she is being 'punished' even though she was 'the one that has to go to the hospital'. 'See the bruises on my body?' she told reporters. 'I have to relive this over and over and over again.' A warrant for Smith's arrest was issued Wednesday. Smith confirmed to WSB that she would turn herself in on battery charges. It is unclear as of Thursday if she has yet done so. Daily Mail has approached police and Turner's attorney for comment. Uber, in a statement, said: 'Safety is fundamental to the Uber experience, and conduct like this is not tolerated. "Nonetheless, Mr. Harden's security team recklessly failed to protect Ms. Watley on Mr. Harden's property — and the result was a sexual assault from which she will suffer indefinitely," the lawsuit says. The complaint says she now speaks with a heavy stutter due to the "severe trauma" of the alleged rape. The lawsuit says that Watley and two friends met at a restaurant on New Year's Eve before going to a party at a nearby club. At about 3:30 a.m., they allegedly saw Harden in a VIP area and learned of a party at his house. The three women took an Uber to his house — the complaint says Watley thought they were going to a friend's apartment — where an armed security guard checked their IDs and told them to go to the recording studio inside, the lawsuit says. There, the lawsuit says, Blackburn gave all three women a drink that caused them to pass out. The lawsuit says that Watley's memory from this point "becomes extremely hazy" as she faded in and out of consciousness. "The next thing Ms. Watley recalls is being shocked into consciousness while lying face down on a bed with a man behind her having aggressive sex with her," the lawsuit says. Watley alleges that after this, a security guard told her to leave. The lawsuit says her two friends had already been told to leave and were locked out despite telling security guards that their friend and some possessions were still inside. The lawsuit says they were allegedly told no women were in the house, but the friends soon saw more women leaving. Watley's two friends had her iPhone and were able to contact her sister through her emergency contacts at 10:44 a.m., who then called the police. The lawsuit alleges that it wasn't until after 1:29 p.m. that Watley emerged. Her attorneys, Michael J. Willemin and John S. Crain from Wigdor, and Jay Ellwanger and Kaylyn Betts of Ellwanger Henderson, said in a joint statement that Watley showed "great strength and courage" in reporting the allegations. "This rape was immediately reported to the police, and we will bring Mr. Blackburn and Mr. Harden to justice through the civil justice system," they said.
