Tom Brady has been accused of lying about a major Shedeur Sanders decision
Did Tom Brady lie about Sanders? Source: X
Shedeur Sanders
is currently throwing his first passes as a Cleveland Brown at team rookie minicamp. The rookie's journey was closely followed by the NFL circuit and he was finally drafted by the
Cleveland Browns
in the fifth round. And now sports personality Skip Bayless has shocked fans by alleging that
Las Vegas Raiders
minority owner
Tom Brady
was responsible for the team's decision to pass on Shedeur Sanders multiple times during the 2025 NFL Draft.
In a recent episode of The Skip Bayless Show, Bayless criticized Brady, claiming he "wasn't a part of any evaluation process" regarding Sanders, who eventually dropped to the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the draft. "I know I'm right," Bayless stated, according to Reice Shipley of Awful Announcing.
Was Tom Brady involved in the decision over drafting Shedeur Sanders?
"Tom your nose is going to grow. I defended you all through Deflategate," Bayless said. "Now, I gotta admit, you're making me wonder. If you dodged the truth about Shedeur would you have...Come on, Tom, just own it. If you don't believe in Shedeur as an NFL quarterback for whatever reason, just own that."

Bayless cited first-year Raiders general manager John Spytek who was Brady's former teammate at Michigan. He had reportedly told sports journalist Dan Pompei that those in the Raiders' front office would "have to be fools not to involve" Brady in discussions about the team's quarterback decisions.
Pompei reported that Brady "met with Spytek and coaches to discuss" veteran quarterbacks after the previous season. Pompei noted that Brady "spent another day with Spytek discussing college quarterback prospects" during the predraft evaluation process.
Recently, Tom Brady admitted he was not involved in the Raiders decision, on an episode of Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast.
"I wasn't a part of any evaluation process. That's the problem with media, anybody can say whatever the [expletive] they want and get away with it. It's kind of unfortunate because they're actually used to be a lot of integrity in media. There's way less now because everyone needs crazy voices to get heard."

AB de Villiers' shock revelation with ‘I was overpaid' remark; new IPL champions RCB justify letting go Venkatesh Iyer
Former South African AB de Villiers felt he was 'overpaid' during his 11-year stay at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The revelation came after RCB's maiden IPL title on Tuesday, beating Punjab Kings in the final in Ahmedabad with former Indian cricketer Abhinav Mukund spilling the details. Following RCB's win, Mukund revealed a conversation with De Villiers. 'I was sitting next to AB de Villiers and he told me something that I don't think any legend in the IPL has said. But he genuinely meant it, he said it from a place of emotion," Mukund told broadcasters. "He said I was overpaid. I'm overpaid, I thought I was overpaid because I feel like all of the other elements that you're talking about, right? Where you're able to buy so many other superstar players, all those match winners you're talking about. The highest amount of money that they spent on (for IPL 2025) was for someone like a Phil Salt or Josh Hazlewood. They didn't cross 15,' added Mukund. Having started his IPL journey with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2008, De Villiers shifted base to RCB for ₹ 5 crore and was retained twice in 2014 ( ₹ 9.5 crore) and 2018 ( ₹ 11 crore) seasons. The right-hander played till 2021, all at RCB since 2011. During the IPL 2025 mega auction, Venkatesh Iyer was the last player that RCB failed to rope in despite going all out for the Madhya Pradesh batter. Eventually, the left-hander went to his parent franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping ₹ 23.75 crore. However, Iyer turned out to be RCB's lucky escape as the newly-crowed IPL champions used that money to buy Josh Hazlewood ( ₹ 12.50 crore) and Phil Salt ( ₹ 11.50 crore). Both Hazlewood and Salt made crucial impacts in ending RCB's 18-year title drought. While ended the season with 403 runs, Hazlewood returned with 22 wickets. In comparison, Iyer contributed with 142 runs in 11 matches. Stay updated on all the action from the IPL 2025. RCB win IPL: Virender Sehwag reacts on Virat Kohli ending title drought; says 'Sachin Tendulkar's wait was longer'
Former India opener Virender Sehwag has made an interesting comparison between Virat Kohli's wait for winning the first IPL trophy and Sachin Tendulkar lifting the ODI World Cup in 2011. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "Kohli's wait to win the trophy for only 11 years. Sachin Tendulkar waited from 1989 till 2011. So, Kohli's wait for lesser, and still even Sachin never lost hope. He had made up his mind, he would only bow out with a World Cup trophy in his hand," Sehwag told Cricbuzz. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Sehwag also emphasized that after retiring from Tests and T20Is, Kohli will be a relieved person. 'It's the same for Virat Kohli. Now, he can be relieved. He can happily stop playing IPL whenever he wants to make that decision. A player plays to win the trophy. Money comes and goes, but winning trophies isn't easy. And even as Kohli's wait ended, he has still made a very strong contribution in their campaign,' said Sehwag. Hundreds of thousands had packed the streets Wednesday to welcome home their hero Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after they had beaten Punjab Kings a day earlier in a thrilling Indian Premier League final. But the euphoria of the vast crowds in the southern tech city of Bengaluru ended in disaster. Karnataka state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said most of the 11 dead were young people and there were 47 others injured in the crush after a stampede near the city's M. Chinnaswamy cricket stadium, where the players were parading the trophy for fans. Kohli, who top scored in the final, said earlier it had been "as much for the fans" after the 36-year-old finally celebrated winning the IPL at his 18th attempt. Later, Kohli wrote on social media: "At a loss for words. "Absolutely gutted," he added, alongside a statement from the RCB team saying they were "deeply anguished" at what had unfolded.
