If You're In Your 'Responsibly Irresponsible' Era, These 34 Under-$10 Treats Are The Perfect Solution

Buzz Feed22-05-2025

E.l.f.'s Hydrating Core Lip Shine in the "Ecstatic" shade, which reviewers say captures the same magic as "Black Honey," the $25 ~universal shade~ from Clinique that's blowing up on TikTok at a fraction of the price. It doesn't shift colors as magically as the other version, but it's a perfect, non-sticky "go-to" lip to keep in all your favorite bags and haunts.
And Glossmetics' Lychee Overnight Lip Mask, which is a cult-fave in the making — you can wear this non-stick, ultra glossy lip shine during the day or overnight as a lip treatment to help hydrate, soften, and condition your lips. Not to mention you will taste *delectable* all day and night (just ask the many lychee martinis I have downed on this here earth!).
A set of crease-preventing spiral hair ties that not only give your pony that delightful ~oomph~ to elevate it, but stay locked in place. They're also waterproof, which makes them great for exercise (as much as we all love a soggy hair tie on our wrist post-workout 🫠).
Pocket World, a stress relief coloring book for adults full of whimsical miniature Polly Pocket-esque worlds to color, with no two alike. I'm talking fairy gardens, tiny hygge-style living rooms, quirky restaurants, and more.
A Baccarat Rouge 540-inspired moisturizing body wash infused with white jasmine, red currant, and sweet amber that reviewers swear by for a cheap alternative to keep that delectably luxe scent on them all day long. Nothing wrong with smelling a lil' ~~expensive~~!
A NeeDoh "Dream Drop," the latest drop from the *elite* Needoh sensory fidget toy line for anyone who wants to add more calm and focus to their day. This goo-filled, delightfully colorful fidget has a satisfying squish with a "slow rise" before going back to its original shape. Reviewers also love that it doesn't have the kind of stickiness that picks up debris and makes it hard to clean.
The Ordinary's Multi-Depth Hydration Serum to achieve that "glassy," plumped effect *without* breaking the whole bank. This delightfully affordable, super effective serum helps hydrate and protect your skin barrier so you wake up with firm, refreshed skin.
A mini Bob Ross paint-by-numbers kit for anyone on their "happy accidents" beat — this itty bitty set comes with everything you need to create three tiny masterpieces of your very own.
E.l.f's Lash XTNDR Tubing Mascara, a GODSEND for anyone with thin or fragile lashes. This uses lightweight ~tubing~ technology to wrap around lashes and give them a natural-looking, smudge-proof extension so good it almost looks fake. The real boon, though, is how easily the "tubes" slide off in clean, easy swipes at the end of the day when you're washing your face — absolutely no smudging, over-scrubbing, or special eye makeup removal products required.
An oh-so-sweet 1000-piece macaron puzzle for anyone with a sweet tooth *and* a sweet brain. This one might be a toughie with all the similar colors in the pattern, but the satisfaction you'll get when you finish it is simply delicious.
A copy of Burn After Writing, a guided journal that tens of thousands of reviewers swear by — through a series of questions and thought experiments, it encourages people to take time away from their screens to explore their feelings, both new and old, so they can embrace meaningful ones and try to let others go.
A TikTok-beloved "Soft" perfume rollerball that honestly has no right smelling so delectable and layering so well considering it's only five cash dollars. Reviewers are obsessed with the scent's warm sweetness with a hint of citrusy zest, comparing it to waffle cones, lemon pound cake, and warm vanilla scones ... and this $65 bottle of Pink Sugar 👀.
Skala's Mais Cacho Hair 2-in-1 Conditioning Treatment, the holy grail of curly hair products — you can either use it as a conditioning treatment, or wear it all day in your curls both to style and condition for all-day hair repair. Reviewers swear by it for healthier, bouncier, more well-defined curls, and love how gently it helps detangle, too.
Catrice "Instant Awake" Under Eye Brightener, which became the internet's holy grail for concealing and brightening dark circles under your eyes so fast that everyone's old concealers are doing double takes. This lightweight color-adapting formula is designed for truly ~invisible~ coverage that makes a drastic difference.
A sardine-themed digital download because now that we are in an era of "sardines as decor," we need to embrace it with every brine-y, aesthetic mermaid bone in our BODIES, one piece at a time.
A plated, jewel-embedded ring you can buy yourself as a little treat if the $1,250 Cartier Love Ring is decidedly out of your budget. Dare I say this version is ... prettier than the designer one?
Eos' Shea Butter Vanilla Cashmere body lotion, which TikTok is going *feral* over both because of the lightweight, long-lasting moisture, and the soothing, delicious smell that reviewers compare to more expensive brands like Philosophy and Bath & Body Works.
A bottle of Elizavecca hair treatment, an Olaplex-like repairing mask infused with collagen ingredients and protein extracts that will help restore hair health and reduce shedding when dryness is coming for your 'do. All you gotta do is apply it on wet hair after a shampoo, wait five minutes, and rinse it out.
A set of wineglass charcuterie toppers to make you the ultimate host of wine and cheese nights ... *or* just an elite experience curating your own snack-and-vino vibe at home. (Friday night cheese is the most sacred cheese of all.)
A pomade hair wax stick designed to work for all hair types for some residue-free *instant* hold for slick-back ponytails or setting flyaways, cowlicks, and baby hairs into place, if that's the ~look~ you're going for that day. Reviewers note how easy it is to glide over hair and brush back without leaving hair looking greasy or shiny.
A pair of gorgeous kitchen shears that are as functional as they are stunning — reviewers love these all-purpose, super sharp blades for cutting everything from meat and fruit to opening packages and wrangling with complicated wrapping.
A Chupa Chups Sour Lollipops variety pack to add a little bit of 🥴 and 😳 and 😋 into your life. These come in lemon, strawberry, and apple, and make a perfect Emergency Lil' Treat for your purse.
Moodmatcher ~~green~~ color-changing lipstick, which not only adapts to the pH of your skin to create a personalized, perfect shade for your skin tone, but lasts for HOURS. Reviewers marvel at its all-day staying power, even after meals and breaking a sweat. Look at that lil' green lipstick go!!
A set of pastel glitter highlighters I saw on Instagram and NEARLY BLACKED OUT from the cuteness. If you like highlighting your planner pages, favorite passages from books, or lines from your journal, please do yourself a favor and purchase these subtle but oh-so-sparkly colors to jazz them up ✨.
OPI RapiDry Quick Dry Nail Polish you can get in a bunch of neutrals to keep on ~hand~ when you need a quick refresh, but can't commit to a whole manicure bit. These easy-to-apply, semi-sheer shades are chip-resistant, smudge-proof, and dry in a jaw-dropping 60 seconds!
Essence's "What the Fake!" Plumping Lip Filler to give your lips a lil' extra ~vavoom~ — this tingly formula not only volumizes your lips, but it's made with hyaluronic acid and vitamin E to leave them extra moisturized and hydrated.
A wildly popular Gumby chew toy so beloved by pets and their owners alike that it's amassed over 42,000 5-star ratings. Reviewers love this lil' guy in particular because he is durable compared to other chew toys, comes in a shape great for playing and teething, and of course, because he is made in the likeness of our beloved Gumby.
L'Oréal Paris BB Cream, a FAST-acting, anti-redness moisturizer with results that feel like legitimate magic — especially considering its competitor, the Dr Jart+ Cicapair Color Correcting Cream, is over twice as expensive. Reviewers especially love this as a base for their makeup, because it leaves skin super soft and primed.
Etude's delightfully multipurpose Dear Darling Water Tint, which a lot of reviewers compare to Benefit's Lip Tint. This smudgeproof formula is designed primarily to be a natural-looking, weightless lip stain, but reviewers use it as a blush as well!
Kitsch's Zig Zag Headbands, an iconic callback to the '90s style with a chic modern update. This is designed to work for all hair types, letting you add some volume and cheeky playfulness to the rest of your look. Reviewers especially love that these don't give them headaches like other headbands!
A set of reviewer-beloved chocolate bar molds for anyone with Willy Wonka tendencies who is ready to take matters into their own hands, darn it. These are great for mix-ins like nuts and cereal, but also have enough depth for you to add fillings like peanut butter and the viral pistachio Dubai chocolate bars.
A darling set of bow-shaped straw toppers so you can make your hydration goals as cute and coquette as possible.
A set of dainty but durable ladybug bag clips to add a touch of whimsy to your chip bags and cereal boxes.
A set of rainbow aesthetic coloring pencils for some extra adventurous artists who aren't afraid to shake things up — each pencil has a whole bunch of different shades woven into it, so you never know just *quite* what it will look like as you draw. It's worth the risk, though — the beautiful results speak for themselves!

An Elephant Wanders Into a Grocery Store and Steals Crackers, a Sandwich and the Internet's Heart

In Thailand, a wild elephant lumbered into a grocery store and helped himself to all the goods as if he was taking over the place. Now, the male elephant known as Plai Biang Lek is taking over the internet, too. Plai Biang Lek entered a store in Pak Chong, Thailand, after finding his way there from Khao Yai National Park, according to NBC News. Video of the incident circulating on social media shows the giant animal, plastered in mud, the inside of the small store as he towers over a wall of shelves packed with snacks and groceries. The store's owner, Kamploy Kakaew, and national park workers can be heard trying to wrangle the elephant out of the store as he munches away, seemingly unfazed. Speaking to NBC News, Kakaew recalled how the behemoth managed to feast on several items from her morning haul, including dried bananas, nine bags of sweet rice crackers and a sandwich. 'This sandwich, the whole pack was gone,' she said. Plai Biang Lek was eventually escorted from the shop's premises without anyone being harmed. Still, he didn't leave the store empty-trunked. The video shows him making his departure with a parting snack tucked against his chest. The chaos and crumbs left behind might have been local to Thailand, but the laughs and comments are now global. On Instagram and TikTok, users have reacted to the video with amusement and affection, with TikTok calling Plai Biang 'impossible to ignore.' 'That elephant was being very mindful, very demure,' one user commented on Associated Press' Instagram page. 'Previous human looking for favorite snacks in the afterlife for sure,' replied another. ''Hello boss?'' one replied, leaning into the absurdity. 'So, it's just that I don't know where to start.'' 'Insurance company: a WHAT entered the store?' someone quipped. 'They'd love Costco,' chimed in another. 'This sounds like a math problem,' one user mused. 'If one elephant eats 3 apples, how much will it cost to replace the ceiling?' 'Me in the kitchen at 2 am,' came another joke. Khao Yai National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located some 114 miles away from the city of Bangkok, according to the park's website. It is a home to a diverse range of wildlife, including reptiles, birds and mammals like Plai Biang Lek. In Thailand, elephants are cultural figures of royalty and strength. While deeply respected, their numbers have dropped significantly due to poaching, habitat encroachment and the increase of human-elephant conflicts, according to the World Wildlife Fund. In 2020, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP), started a plan to ease these conflicts by increasing food and water resources for animals within their protected habitats.
