Suge Knight Believes President Trump May Pardon Diddy If the Music Mogul Is Convicted
Suge Knight has an interesting theory when it comes to Diddy and President Donald Trump.
When talking on the phone from prison with Chris Cuomo on the journalist's News Nation show CUOMO in an interview that was posted Wednesday (May 14), Knight suggested Diddy has enough power and influence to warrant a possible pardon from the president if convicted on federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. 'I think he's got some favors with the government. I think they're gonna show him a little leeway,' he suggested. 'It might not seem like it when it's all said and done, but I don't think he has nothing to worry about, and I don't think he's worried because he's gonna be federal, and if he gets convicted, Trump's gonna pardon him.'

Earlier in the interview, he also floated the theory that Diddy and his team may try to tamper with jurors. 'I still feel that Puffy is going to be all right and have a fair shot at it,' the Death Row founder proclaimed. 'He's not a not a dummy. And I'm quite sure somebody going to talk to those jurors and convince one or two of them that's all you need, is one.'
Billboard has reached out to both Diddy's team and the White House press office for comment.
Suge called into the news outlet after being mentioned during Cassie Ventura's testimony at Diddy's trial on Tuesday (May 13.)
While on the stand, Ventura recalled a time when Diddy once left his home in L.A. abruptly to allegedly confront Knight, who was said to be at a nearby diner by one of the embattled mogul's bodyguards. 'I don't think Cassie is in a situation where she has to lie,' he said of his name being brought up during her testimony. 'I don't think she's in a situation where she's got to worry anymore. I think she's in a great place with another baby on the way.'

Campaign Finance Board's voter-guide fiasco errors are no laughing matter
A near-$7 million bungle by the city Campaign Finance Board is fresh sign that an outfit with huge power over city elections is in dire need of overhaul — if not elimination. The CFB's voter-outreach arm, NYC Votes, last month spent $6.85 million of taxpayer money mailing 3.5 million 'voter information' guides that were riddled with huge errors, from listing Mayor Eric Adams and four other non-candidates as on the ballot in the Democratic primary to falsely 'informing' the public about a Republican primary that doesn't exist. It also left out two entire City Council races. 'It's an interesting error from a system that demands absolute perfection from candidates, where a one letter typo can cost a campaign tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees or even removal from the ballot entirely,' fumed Corinne Fisher to PoliticoNY; she's one of the candidates the guide falsely lists as on the ballot. NYC Votes also managed to advertise the wrong date for the primary during at least four games at CitiField, Gothamist discovered. Maybe they think Mets fans shouldn't vote? Or maybe the CFB should adopt a slogan from Casey Stengel's verdict on the Amazins: 'Can't anybody here play this game?' The board says it'll mail out new guides with the correct info to all 3 million potential Democratic primary voters; we guess it won't worry about Republicans who rely on its bad info and head to the polls for a fictional race. All this would be easier to laugh at if the Campaign Finance Board didn't have such vast and unaccountable power over city campaigns. On Friday, it airily slammed the Andrew Cuomo campaign with a $675,000 penalty because it disapproves of the Cuomo website, following a $622,000 fine two weeks before over the same issue — namely, how an independent pro-Cuomo superPAC can use the site to figure out his chief issues. And of course the board has summarily refused to allow the mayor any matching funds at all, crippling his re-election campaign over federal charges that have now been permanently deep-sixed. Reminder: Back 2013, the CFB all but anointed Bill de Blasio the next mayor by denying funds to his most-similar competitor, John Liu. And in 2001, it imperiously declared that there would be no additional campaigning in the primary elections after they had to be rescheduled when the planes hit the towers on the original Primary Day — a completely arbitrary decision that was conceivably key to Mike Bloomberg's victory that November. If you're keeping score, that's two mayors out of the last three who arguably won thanks to this elected board whose decisions can at best be contested in court cases that won't be settled until long after any given Election Day — and it has already played a huge role in this year's contest, too. Yet it can't even produce a reliable voters' guide: Surely, the Charter Reform Commission should be at least looking at some proposal to oversee or eliminate the CFB and the entire corrupt 'public campaign finance' system? For the record: Primary Day is June 24, even for Mets fans.

Drop in fentanyl seizures at border suggests enforcement working
(NewsNation) — For years, a rise in border trafficking of illegal drugs, including fentanyl, led to one of the most dangerous epidemics in U.S. history, but new data suggests the worst may be behind. Last year, the U.S. Border Patrol seized more than 1,700 pounds of fentanyl per month compared to only 746 pounds a month so far this year. That's a drop of more than one half, if the pace holds. U.S. seizures have decreased by 30% at the border compared with the same period last year, the Washington Post reported. A source in Mexico tells NewsNation the drop in fentanyl seizures indicates the U.S. government has been successful in putting pressure on its neighbor to the south to crack down on fentanyl production. Mexican president asks China for help in fight against fentanyl The Trump administration has made fentanyl trafficking a national security issue and has threatened Mexico with tariffs. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum responded by deploying 10,000 troops to her country's northern border. The two countries are also cooperating in the field. U.S. authorities worked alongside Mexican federal agencies to dismantle three large-scale synthetic drug production labs in Sinaloa, Mexico, a stronghold for the Sinaloa Cartel. The cooperation adds new pressure on cartels to produce less of the synthetic opioid so that they can avoid the attention of the U.S. government. U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, recently praised Mexico for busting a fentanyl super lab that was producing 2 tons of the drug each week. The lab was dismantled, and authorities seized $80 million in product. Another factor in the drop in fentanyl seizures: The Sinaloa Cartel is involved in a civil war between two factions.
