Jelly Roll drops nearly 200 pounds, sets sights on sky-high goal
Jelly Roll is breezing through his weight-loss goals and celebrating his latest milestone.
During the "Big Night Aht" live show Wednesday, he told host Pat McAfee and the gathered audience that he's lost nearly 200 pounds.
"I started at 540 pounds and I was 357 pounds this morning," the 40-year-old said, adding, "I'm gonna lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby!"
Earlier this year, Jelly Roll celebrated not only the lower number on the scale but an improvement in his overall fitness.
In February, he told E! News at a pre-Super Bowl party that he "hiked a mountain the other day. Camelback," referring to the Arizona mountains.
"There is no way that would have been possible beforehand, so it's great to see that progress, and we still are going," the singer, born Jason Bradley DeFord, said.
The "Son of a Sinner" singer has been on a weight-loss journey since December 2022 and has seen incredible success, but admitted it hasn't always been easy.
"It isn't always the case where I feel focused or positive," he admitted to E! News. "The things that motivate me and keep me going are the people I have met along the way... The people that come up to me and bravely share their sobriety date, or a story of something that they've dealt with, or someone they've lost."
He added, "Seeing the resilience of the human spirit, there is no greater motivation than to keep going."
In December 2024, he spoke on his wife Bunnie Xo's "Dumb Blonde" podcast about why he decided to be open with his fans about losing weight.
"I did this publicly for a reason," he said. "I want to be honest about my struggles with it with people. I wore it for so long."
Jelly Roll continued, "I think that people that become as big as I became, when they lose the weight, they're kind of ashamed. They're so ashamed that they go and hide and lose the weight, and then they come back out, and they don't really know how to interact with the world, looking different or feeling different, you know? And they kind of got to find their whole new way."
"I wanted to lose it in front of everybody. I wanted to talk about it… This is constantly what I'm putting in the air because I want to bring people along with me."
He later told Bunnie, "I wanna be on the cover of 'Men's Health' by March of 2026. That's my new goal. So I wanna have one of the biggest transformations."

St. Joseph Museums displays local artist's work for Juneteenth
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — A local artist's work is being featured in the St. Joseph Museums as part of the celebration leading up to Juneteenth. A gallery featuring the work of Afrocentric Artist T'Asia Coker can be found in the Black Archives section of the Museum. The 23-year-old law student at Missouri Western State University remembers when she started sketching at the age of 13. I was at my house, and I was so bored I was like, 'Okay, I'm just going to try to draw,' and then I really got in to sketching," Coker said. Then she found what she truly loved. "I liked sketching, but I just really love being able to express myself through color with different skin tones, complexions and backgrounds," Coker said. The inspiration came from the hair salon her mom has owned for nearly 12 years. "I just watched her do the hair of the people in my community and I get a lot of inspiration from them," she said. T'Asia's mother, Kristina Buchanan, owns Karamel Natural Hair Care at 1702 Olive St. in St. Joseph. T'Asia's first color art piece is still hanging inside the shop. "We just always thought that she was amazing," Buchanan said. "Her progression speaks more, I think, to her work ethic, her determination to keep perfecting her craft to always be the best that she can be, and I'm in awe of my daughter." What starts as a concept in T'Asia's head changes as she begins to work on a piece. She enjoys painting women in front of mystical backgrounds. "I'm a fantasy person to my core, so I like seeing art that depicts that," Coker said. The opportunity to showcase her art in the St. Joseph Museums came from a February event where her mother displayed her work. A Black Archives Committee member was in attendance and suggested her art be displayed in the museum. "My mom was buying picture frames and, you know, getting everything labeled," Coker said. "It came together really nice." Coker's work is on display now through Monday, June 30, to highlight Black artists and celebrate Juneteenth. "I've been watching her just do great things anyway, so every painting is my favorite," Buchanan said. "This is the beginning for her. A calendar featuring T'Asia's work will be on sale in September, and it will feature perforated pages so the art can be detached and kept. Copies of the calendar can be purchased at Karamel Natural Hair Care.

The 16-year-old influencer died by suicide on March 18, per documents obtained by Us Weekly. The documents revealed that there was a teddy bear, a paper note and a picture found at the scene at his home in Newport, N.C., where he was discovered by a family member. The documents stated that no drug paraphernalia was found at the scene of his death, but his family shared that over the last year, Joshua had 'exhibited behavioral changes.' E!
