Shoresy Season 5: Release date buzz, cast updates, and what to expect next
Hockey nuts, grab your sticks! Shoresy , the rough-around-the-edges Letterkenny spinoff, has fans itching for Season 5. With its killer one-liners, tight-knit crew, and pure love for the game, this show's become a must-watch. After Season 4's big moments, here's the latest on Shoresy Season 5—when it might drop, who's back, and what's coming down the pike. When Will Shoresy Season 5 Hit the Ice?
No official date is out yet, but the rumour mill's churning. Shoresy 's been steady, dropping a new season yearly since 2022. Season 4 landed on Crave in Canada on January 24, 2025, and Hulu in the U.S. on February 26, 2025. Word is, filming for Season 5 starts in spring 2025. If the crew keeps the pace, expect a Crave premiere around January or February 2026, with Hulu likely a month later, maybe February or March 2026.
But, stuff happens. The 2023 writers' strike messed with other shows, and some fans on X are wondering if production hiccups could push things back. Still, early 2026 looks solid, so pencil it in and keep an eye out for Crave or Hulu dropping the official word. Who's Back for Season 5? Cast Updates
The Bulldogs are nothing without their core crew, and Season 5's shaping up to bring back the heavy hitters. Jared Keeso, the guy behind it all, is back as Shoresy, spitting chirps and heart in equal measure. Others suiting up include: Taysa Teles as Nat, the tough-as-nails team boss who's always butting heads with Shoresy's chaos.
Blair Lamora and Keilani Rose as Ziigwan and Miigwan, Nat's quick-witted sidekicks keeping the team in check.
Jonathan-Ismaël Diaby as Dolo, the ex-pro with a hip-hop vibe.
Terry Ryan as Ted 'Hitch' Hitchcock, bringing real-deal hockey grit.
The rest of the Bulldogs should be back, though no full roster's been confirmed. Fans on Reddit are begging for Fish to return after his Season 4 spotlight. There's also chatter about Letterkenny crossovers—maybe Laurence Leboeuf or Scott Thompson popping in. The show loves tossing in real hockey players, so expect some fresh faces, maybe even a big-name cameo. Crazy fan ideas like Sidney Crosby showing up are probably just dreams, but Shoresy always surprises. What to Expect from Season 5's Plot
Season 4 shook things up big time. The Bulldogs snagged the cup, got into some wild summer antics in Sudbury, and Shoresy dropped a shocker by hanging up his skates due to injuries. So, what's next? Season 5 might dive into Shoresy's life off the ice, showing how the team holds it together without the rink. Will new rivalries spark? Could the Bulldogs find a new groove?
Expect the usual mix of filthy humor, ride-or-die team vibes, and those sneaky, heartfelt moments that hit hard. Fans on Reddit are tossing out ideas like Shoresy coaching the team, maybe even going full Don Cherry. Others think the show might lean into Letterkenny -style off-ice shenanigans or even a podcast storyline for the crew. Whatever's coming, it'll be packed with chirps, character growth, and that raw, Canadian hockey soul that hooks everyone.

Predator: Badlands has a new trailer – and it's got an Alien connection that has me hyped
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Predator: Badlands now has a full length trailer It reveals that Elle Fanning's protagonist character is a Weyland-Yutani synth This is exciting news for those wanting more Alien vs Predator in their life Predator: Badlands just dropped a new trailer that has delighted fans, including myself, as it incorporates elements of both the Alien and Predator franchises. Since the original Alien vs Predator movie was released in 2004, we've seen a lot of spinoffs that solely focus on one of the two creatures but now it seems the two universes are properly merging once again. Xenomorphs are set to reappear in Hulu's upcoming Alien: Earth. Meanwhile, Predator was last seen in Predator: Killer of Killers (check our ranking of every chapter in the animated anthology movie) and before that Prey, which senior entertainment reporter Tom Power called "the best Predator movie since the 1987 original" in his Prey review. Prey's director Dan Trachtenberg is also directing Predator: Badlands, so many are expecting it to be another very strong entry into the series. Take a look at the trailer for one of this year's new movies below. What is Predator: Badlands about? The official plot reads: "In the future on a remote planet, a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary." So, this confirms that a Predator and a Weyland-Yutani synth are indeed teaming up in Predator: Badlands, and it's very exciting to see these two worlds colliding again. Predator: Badlands does have some serious sci-fi vibes in its first trailer, which I'm a huge fan of, and I'm sure there'll be plenty of action and thrills to enjoy whether or not you're team Alien or Predator. Confirmed cast so far include Elle Fanning as Thia and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek (the Predator), and they are definitely shaping up to be one very cool duo. Final trailer for Alien: Earth drops another xenomorph tease, but I'm far more interested in the horror show's other unsettling creatures
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The final trailer for FX's Alien: Earth has been released It'll premiere on Hulu and Disney+ in mid-August The sci-fi horror franchise's iconic Xenomorph won't be the show's most interesting monster There's less than a month to go (at the time of publication) until Alien: Earth crash-lands on our screens. So, what better way is there to celebrate than the release of one final, terror-fuelled trailer? With the sci-fi horror show set to launch on Hulu (US) and Disney+ (internationally) in mid-August, FX Networks has decided to release one more teaser to further whet our appetite for its release. And, if you thought the Alien franchise's iconic xenomorph would be the most frightening monster that'll show up, you'd better think again. Sure, the fan-favorite biological weapon will appear in the Alien franchise's first-ever TV show. That much has been made clear ever since Alien: Earth's underwhelming first teaser dropped in September 2024. It's the show's other skin-crawling creatures, though, that have piqued my interest since FX birthed another teaser for Alien: Earth in late April. Indeed, we caught glimpses of the other extraterrestrial beings that'll show up in the series in Alien: Earth's first proper trailer in June. Now, we have confirmation of not only how many we'll actually see, but the threat they'll pose to the human and android characters who populate the show. "This ship collected specimens – five new lifeforms – from distant planets," Babou Ceesay's Morrow can he heard saying in the latest round of footage. "[They're] monsters." You can say that again. From the carnivorous venus flytrap-like creature – D. Plumricarl – seen dangling from a ceiling (see the image above) to the eye-based lifeform – T. Ocellus – that's bonded to an unsuspecting sheep (see the image below), Sydney Chandler's Wendy, Morrow, and company won't want to mess around with these life-threatening species from other worlds. For those of you who missed it first time around, here's the story brief for Alien: Earth, courtesy of FX: "In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. "In this Corporate Era, cyborgs – humans with both biological and artificial parts – and synthetics – humanoid robots with artificial intelligence – exist alongside humans. But, the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids, humanoid robots infused with human consciousness." "The first hybrid prototype named 'Wendy' (Chandler) marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani's spaceship collides into Prodigy City, 'Wendy' and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined." Joining Chandler and Ceesay on the show's cast roster are Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Kit Young, David Rysdahl, Lily Newmark, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver, among others. You can read more about the show's extensive cast, plot details, and its future in our ultimate guide to Alien: Earth. As we revealed in mid-May, Alien: Earth will be released on August 12. Well, in the US, plus other North American countries, and South America. In Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, it'll arrive on August 13. From 'The Pickup' to 'My Oxford Year,' 10 movies you need to stream right now
The best place to see movies with comedy legends? Your local streaming service. A couple of weeks after Adam Sandler tore up the links with his Netflix "Happy Gilmore" sequel, Eddie Murphy's latest arrives on Amazon – and teams him with another "SNL" alum, Pete Davidson – with "The Pickup." But whether you're into the funny films or scarier stuff, services like HBO Max, Peacock, Hulu and more are delivering films to your favorite devices. Check out a California retro fest with Pedro Pascal and Tom Hanks, a freaky Stephen King tale with double the Theo James, and a new take on a sci-fi classic with Ice Cube. Here are 10 new and notable movies you can stream right now: 'Borderline' In this dark comedy set in the 1990s, a pop star (Samara Weaving) has recently returned home to her mansion when an escaped mental patient (Ray Nicholson) – and superfan – invades her home, hoping to wed his beloved. Charmingly unhinged, Nicholson is likable enough to root a little for the antagonist. Where to watch: Peacock 'Clown in a Cornfield' This clever and comedic slasher reinvention centers on a teen girl (Katie Douglas) who moves to a small Missouri farm town. The place has a dark past, partly because of the local corn syrup factory burning down but also because of a violent clown named Frendo who stalks youngsters. Perfect for horror fiends who want more plot with their gore. Where to watch: Shudder 'Final Destination Bloodlines' The 2000s horror franchise is back after a long hiatus – and maybe better than ever? Kaitlyn Santa Juana plays a college student who learns that her grandmother cheated Death decades ago, and now that jerk is coming to take out her whole family via various creatively gnarly, Rube Goldberg-esque kills. Where to watch: HBO Max 'Freaky Tales' Pedro Pascal is in approximately 57 movies this year, but none are quite like this bizarrely watchable, throwback action B-movie. The "Fantastic Four" star plays an enforcer on a mission of revenge amid intertwining stories set in 1980s Oakland with Nazi-stabbing youngsters, rap battles, a ninja hoopster and a crusty Tom Hanks. Where to watch: HBO Max 'Locked' Usually, Bill Skarsgård is the guy creeping people out. (Pennywise or Nosferatu, anyone?) But he's the one on the receiving end with this thriller. Skarsgård plays a young petty thief who jacks a car. But this souped-up vehicle is actually a trap, and its enigmatic owner (Anthony Hopkins) aims to teach him a lesson. Where to watch: Hulu 'The Monkey' Based on a Stephen King short story, Osgood Perkins' gory and gloriously absurd horror comedy unleashes Theo James as estranged twins trying to rid themselves of a cursed monkey toy that's a harbinger of death. It's an extremely demented, intriguingly insightful tale with themes of mortality and buckets of blood. Where to watch: Hulu 'My Oxford Year' Anna (Sofia Carson) is a New Yorker who fulfills her life's dream of going to Oxford University to study poetry. Things get complicated in the romantic drama, based on the Julia Whelan novel, when she falls hard for her TA, Jamie (Corey Mylchreest), who blows open her world but also comes complete with his own concerns. Where to watch: Netflix 'The Pickup' The constant buddy-comedy banter between Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson does wonders to keep this heist flick watchable. Armored truck driver Russell (Murphy) is nearing retirement and on a cash pickup job with young slacker Travis (Davidson) when the latter gets snookered by a criminal (Keke Palmer) into a high-stakes robbery situation. Where to watch: Prime Video 'War of the Worlds' Those who binge bad movies for fun, rejoice! Ice Cube plays a domestic terror analyst dealing with an alien invasion in this "screenlife" thriller – told through apps, texts, email and video chats – that remakes H.G. Wells' classic sci-fi tale. It basks in cheesy, product-placement ridiculousness, like the fate of the world hinging on an online Amazon purchase. Where to watch: Prime Video 'Wicked' If you didn't see the hit musical and "Wizard of Oz" prequel in theaters, on demand or on Peacock, maybe it's time to check it out on Amazon. Or simply to revisit the fantasy featuring Oscar nominees Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as pals Elphaba and Glinda before the highly anticipated sequel "Wicked: For Good" arrives in November. Where to watch: Prime Video
