Boxing legend Jeff Fenech's daughter announces she's pregnant with footy star Bradman Best's baby
Jeff Fenech's daughter Kayla has revealed she and NRL star Bradman Best are due to have a baby in January next year, telling her social media followers, 'We can't wait.'
The 29-year-old started dating the Newcastle Knights star early last year - initially angering her boxing legend dad - and the big news got a heartfelt reception from her family and NRL identities.
'Omg I'm so proud of you both, can't wait to meet my gorgeous little bubba,' Kayla's mother Suzee wrote.
'Super excited to be on this next chapter/journey with you both. Luv u both.'
Best's Knights teammate James Schiller commented, 'Prodigy in the making! Congrats fam,' and the couple also got messages from former NRL stars Cooper and Jack Johns, as well as NRLW premiership winner Millie Boyle.
Kayla - who was holding an ultrasound image of the baby and a tiny pair of Nike shoes in one of the photos in her post - previously revealed her dad's furious reaction when he first learned about her romance, saying he went 'apes**t'.
However, the four-weight world champion soon changed his mind.
'I'd always warned my girls about going out with league players,' he said.
'I've been knocking around with footballers all my life.
'They're young and they love going out and having a good time.
'So when she rang and told me, I went off the deep end. I gave her a roasting. She kept trying to say, "Dad, he's a lovely guy". Kayla was telling me every day how nice he was.
'Bradman knew I was angry, but he told Kayla, "I'll prove your dad wrong" - and he has.'
The country's greatest ever fighter and Best now get along well, with the pair even doing some boxing training together.
'Maybe he was trying to impress his future father-in-law,' Jeff said.
'He was very impressive when we trained.
'When we first met, you could tell he was a good young man. He's treating Kayla beautifully. Like a gentleman. They're very happy. And so is my wife Suzee and I.
'The only time I got dirty is when he scored two tries against my Parramatta side last weekend and beat us.'
Kayla, who met Best through social media, moved to Newcastle to be with him.
'He's a good person, very down to earth, and treats me really well,' she said.
'Just an all-round good person with a big heart.
'He's actually perfect.'
In February, Kayla revealed one of the secrets to making their relationship work: she won't let him do any work around the house.
'To be honest, Bradman always tries to help. I don't let him,' she said.
'I learnt from my mum [Jeff's wife Suzee] that it's kind of a woman's job to keep the house intact.
'But he always tries to help me do the dishes but I don't really let him lift a finger in the house because I don't feel like it's his job to do that.
'He is always so busy with footy and when he gets home, he is tired so I would never expect him to do anything.'

Western Force vs British & Irish Lions Betting Tips: Stuttering start down under
Western Force vs British & Irish Lions Prediction The British & Irish Lions get their tour of Australia underway on Saturday against Super Rugby side Western Force seeking to put last week's shock loss to Argentina behind them (11am BST, Sky Sports Main Event). The Pumas were 7/1 outsiders with betting sites to win last Friday's clash but stunned the Lions, coming out on top 28-24 to inflict the Lions' first defeat on Irish soil. It was also the first time the Lions had lost their opening tour game since 1971, and Andy Farrell's side will need to show more to avoid further embarrassment. The Lions, who arrived last Sunday ahead of their first tour of Australia since 2013, are building towards the start of the Test series against the Wallabies on July 19 and the Western Force is the first of five tour games to be played before the first Test. Seven of the Western Force squad have been named in the Wallabies squad for the forthcoming series, but the Lions have demanded that the Western Force players all feature for their club side. Six members of the Australia squad have been selected in the matchday 23 and this could be a tough first outing for the tourists. Western Force vs British & Irish Lions Betting Preview: Lions to find their feet Rugby betting sites cut the Lions' odds for victory from 1/20 to a best-price of 1/33 after Farrell unveiled a strong squad for the first game on Australian soil. Debutant Dan Sheehan will captain a team featuring eight Irishmen, while England's Henry Pollock starts at No.8. Farrell is still without scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park and Hugo Keenan, but several members of this starting XV are expected to feature against Australia on July 19. Tom Robertson, Darcy Swain, Nick Champion de Crespigny, Nic White, Dylan Pietsch and Ben Donaldson have all been named in the Western Force side before linking up with the Australia squad on Sunday, but there's no Kurtley Beale after he picked up a hamstring injury this week. Australia vs British & Irish Lions Test Odds Despite the quality of the Force team, bookies are expecting an easy win with the Lions favoured by 25 points on the handicap and priced at just 2/7 to win by 13 points or more. The last time the two sides met, the Force were routed 17-69 in Perth. With the quality in the Lions squad this one should be a routine victory, but after Farrell described the performance against Argentina as "disconnected", this could be another test, especially due to the short turnaround since arriving down under following a 20-hour journey. A CORONATION Street star has confirmed her soap exit as she jets off to Australia. The soap personality was working as a jobbing actress before she landed her role on the long-running ITV show. 5 5 5 Farrel Hegarty began playing Corrie's troublesome Lou Michaelis earlier this year. Taking to Instagram, the actress revealed she has joined partner in Australia. Farrel posted snaps from the journey on her story- as well as when she and her partner were reunited. The star had previously admitted that her contract on the show was only for a finite about of time. She also revealed having originally intended to move to Australia -before landing the role in Coronation Street. Lou arrived alongside husband Mick, as the pair moved into adjoining Mawdsley Street. Addressing her upcoming exit, Farrel previously told The Mirror: "Joe [Layton] and I came in together and will leave together. "How we do it, I can't say, but it's brilliant being part of the show. "Watching the other actors is like a masterclass in acting. When I do film my final scenes, I'll probably cry." Ahead of their debut, Lou and Mick had been billed as the soap's new "nightmare neighbours". Coronation Street signs TikTok & Casualty stars as 'nightmare neighbours' set to 'make life hell' for Cobbles residents Speaking at the time of her casting, Farrel said: 'I'm delighted and so grateful to be joining the cast of Coronation Street. "I have genuinely been blown away by how ridiculously warm and nice everyone is. 'Lou is definitely an exciting character to play because she's got good and bad parts to her, she's a life force and full of beans. "She's a very colourful person who likes to make waves and try to cause chaos. "But she also has that strong family loyalty, especially between Mick and Lou, they are thick as thieves and will stick up for each other, even when they probably shouldn't…' Since arriving, the Michaelis clan haven't been too popular in Weatherfield. Namely, due to Mick brutally killing popular cop Craig Tinker last month. History of the Coronation Street set By Jake Penkethman, TV Reporter 1960-1968 - Whilst the Coronation Street set remained on Quay Street for 53 years, it actually had three separate studio sites. The first was an entirely indoor wooden set which was used for the first eight years of filming. This encompassed a replica of the Street built entirely indoors. The set was known to be awkward for actors to use and the houses brought to three quarter scale. 1968-1982 - In 1968, the addition of an outdoor set was created to adjoin the existing indoor set which was still used for filming right up until 1982. The set was used only when required with many of the show's cast reportedly hating it and describing it as 'the coldest place on Earth'. 1982-2013 - A brand new set was officially constructed in 1982 and was almost built fully to scale but still only permitted for one car to drive down the cobbled street. The house were purpose-built using reclaimed Salford brick in order to give it the most authentic feel possible. During these years, some of the show's buildings were adapted to allow for both interior and exterior filming at the same time. These locations included Elliott's Butchers, Barlow's Buys, Prima Doner and Webster's Autos. The final scenes to be recorded on this site occurred in December 2013. By early 2014, it began operating as a tourist attraction for around two years before ultimately being demolished and re-purposed in 2017. 2014-present - In early 2014, the show's set moved to the TV hub of the North - MediaCityUK in nearby Salford Quays. It is now located a stone's throw from major TV studio Dock 10 as well as the BBC's base in the North - home to Blue Peter, Newsround, BBC Breakfast and BBC Sport. The new set was even bigger and built to 9/10 the scale of a real street and allowed for two card to be travelling down the road at opposite sides for the very first time. The site has even undergone major expansions during its 10 years. Just four years after opening in 2018, a brand new set extension was unveiled which introduced viewers to Victoria Gardens for the first time in its history. The Weatherfield North tram stop also became visible as did a series of shops which became used as part of product placement advertising deals. Brands to have been seen on the Street so far include a Co-Op, a Costa Coffee and a branch of Hay's Travel. Four years later in 2022, another brand new set was unveiled, this time being the heavily mentioned Weatherfield Precinct. It became the first time in 62 years that the area had ever been seen on screens. It fearued a variety of shop fronts, a playground and a number of small flats which have begun to house more and more residents on the street in recent months. Viewers also learned about the complicated past between the couple and police detective Kit Green. Lou and Kit had a secret fling years ago - resulting in the birth of her now-teenage son Brody. But just how will Mick and Lou's exit from the cobbles play out? Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX. 5 5
