Vikrama Simhapuri University student participates in Global Youth Summit in Karnataka
The summit was organised by the State NSS Cell of Karnataka under the sponsorship of the State government. Around 700 young leaders from various parts of the world participated in the event. The discussions were held on various topics such as youth leadership, social responsibility, and global citizenship.
VSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Allam Srinivasa Rao on Monday expressed happiness over the participation of an NSS volunteer from the university in an international event. On the occasion, Registrar, Principal of the University College, NSS Programme Coordinator, NSS Programme Officers, along with faculty members and students from various departments conveyed their wishes to Yugandhar Reddy.

CSE, AI seats grabbed like hot cakes by engineering students in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Computer Science and IT-related courses have once again emerged as the top choice for engineering students in the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test-2025 (TG EAPCET), according to the final phase seat allotment results released on Sunday. These courses — including specialisations like Artificial Intelligence, IoT and Cybersecurity with Blockchain Technology and others — recorded a 91% seat allotment, with 59,819 seats filled. Out of 91,649 total engineering seats across 180 colleges (156 private, 21 university, and two private universities), 80,011 seats were allotted, leaving 11,638 vacant. Fifty-one colleges — five universities and 46 private — achieved 100% admissions. A total of 6,085 candidates secured seats under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota. Of the 97,369 candidates who attended certificate verification, 40,837 exercised web options. While Computer Science and IT branches saw strong demand, 3,636 seats in Electrical and Electronics Engineering remained vacant. Mechanical and Civil Engineering branches struggled, with only 68.22% of 7,675 seats allotted. Candidates allotted seats must self-report online and pay the tuition fee at by August 12, 2025. Failure to pay, self-report, or report in person will result in cancellation of the allotment. Those reporting in person can participate in the centralised internal sliding on August 18 and 19 to change branches within their college, with fee reimbursement applicable for eligible candidates

Vaccines, misuse of antibiotics dominate interaction of students with scientists
1 2 3 Bhubaneswar: Curious students from city schools, who visited the Indian Council of Medical Research-Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR-RMRC) here on Friday, asked a volley of questions to scientists about viruses, bacteria, vaccines and infections. A student from a city-based private school asked a senior scientist of ICMR about the process of making vaccines for human beings. The scientist explained the lengthy process and told the student about ICMR's contribution in preparing Covaxin . Another student asked the ICMR researchers about the misuse of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance. Others inquired about malaria and dengue during the tour of laboratories at ICMR-RMRC. Scientists were amazed by the number of questions from school students. Around 400 students took part in the ICMR-SHINE Initiative-2025 hosted by ICMR-RMRC on Friday. It was part of the national programme 'SHINE' (Science and Health Innovation for the Nextgen Explorers) to ignite scientific curiosity and inspire school students to explore careers in science and health research. SRM-AP, Hynfra PSA explore strategic collaboration
Amaravati: Following the success of the Green Hydrogen Summit-2025, SRM University-AP, Amaravati, hosted a high-level strategic interaction with global leaders in clean energy to explore avenues for collaboration in building a resilient green hydrogen ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. The meeting witnessed the presence of JK Srivastava, founder and chairman of JK Srivastava Hynfra PSA Ltd, Tomoho Umeda, chairman of the Hydrogen Technology Committee at KIG, Poland and CEO of Hynfra PSA, Katarzyna Czumuda, director at Hynfra PSA, Poland and Prof D Narayana Rao, Executive Director (Research) among other University leadership, faculty and researchers. Srivastava appreciated the fast-track policy environment in Andhra Pradesh and expressed confidence in initiating joint pilot projects within a realistic time-frame. Tomoho Umeda emphasised the need for a financially sustainable model to support hydrogen innovation, highlighting India's unique advantage in renewable energy potential, green ammonia production and market readiness.
