Storm Center Update; Tracking more storms in KELOLAND
Good morning KELOLAND. Here are some of the weather stories we are following this morning. Storms tracked across eastern KELOLAND yesterday, producing damaging winds, hail, and locally heavy rain. You can see the damaging wind on the view video sent to us at uSHARE@keloland.com yesterday 5 miles west of Little Rock, Iowa.
Here's a look a snapshot of that downburst and what the wind numbers revealed on VIPIR.
We also had plenty of lightning near Sioux Falls last night.
Most of the storms have been non severe the past 12 hours. Take a look at the 24-hour rainfall totals below.
The rain continues to develop this morning. More thunderstorms are expected in the region, mainly focused north of Sioux Falls.
Our rain outlook today shows more potential north of the warm front across northeastern SD.
Take a look at the latest trends on Futurecast on the video below. You can see the rain moving into northeastern SD along and north of a warm front lifting to the north across our region. We also expect showers and thunderstorms to develop in central SD today near the main low pressure track. Some severe can't be ruled out in southcentral SD this afternoon. This system will exit the region into Minnesota tomorrow morning, with mainly dry conditions during the day tomorrow. A separate feature will bring a rain chance back to eastern KELOLAND late Friday night into Saturday morning. We don't expect rain all weekend, but watch for additional rounds of showers and storms Saturday night, with another round looking likely Sunday night into Monday.

Typical June weather for Father's Day weekend
HONOLULU (KHON2) – Rather typical June trade wind conditions are in place. Broad high pressure north of the state is driving moderate to locally breezy trade winds, and a mid-level ridge overhead is producing very stable conditions with an inversion based between 5,000 and 6,500 ft. As a result, modest showers of mostly a quarter of an inch or less have been focused along windward areas since less night, with the highest totals on the Big Island and Maui. Expect minimal windward rainfall today, and aside from scattered afternoon and evening showers along the Kona slopes of the Big Island, leeward areas will be dry. Hottest weather so far this year moves in this weekend
Hotter weather continues to move into New Mexico this weekend. Albuquerque and other places in the state will likely see their first 100° day of the year. Temperatures continue to heat up across New Mexico Friday afternoon. Several places in southern parts of the climbed into the triple-digits with the 90s up to Santa Fe and southern Colorado once again. A few storms popped up in eastern New Mexico this afternoon, but these storms are much more isolated than what we've seen the last few days. Those storms have moved out of the state tonight as temperatures stay warm overnight. A near-record strong area of high pressure will build over the state this weekend. This will bring not only the hottest weather so far this year, but also near-record and a few record high temperatures Sunday. Triple-digit high temperatures will be possible as far north as Albuquerque and Farmington. Drier air will continue to move into the state as well. A few spotty showers will still be possible in the afternoons around the Sacramento Mountains and near the Texas state line in eastern New Mexico. The near-record and record breaking heat will continue into next Monday. High temperatures will be a couple degrees cooler Tuesday and Wednesday. But this will be short lived before they climb again Wednesday and Thursday. Dry air will continue with very little to no chances for rain into the end of next week. Showers continue throughout the weekend, when will they move out?
A stationary front will continue to bring chances of rain to the Miami Valley through the overnight hours. Lows tonight will be in the mid 60s. Tomorrow highs will be in the lower 80s with on and off shower and thunderstorm chances through the entire day, but it won't be a washout, with coverage being scattered. Another round of on and off rain on Sunday. Highs in the lower 80s to wrap up the weekend. Rain moves out Sunday night, beginning the work week with some sunshine, temperatures in the 80s and dry weather. Another low pressure forms and moves in on Tuesday bringing another round of showers and storms Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s for the rest of the week.
