Controversial New York rapper Azealia Banks has publicly accused former UFC star Conor McGregor of sending her explicit images without consent and threatening her not to speak about it.
The 34-year-old artist shared screenshots and comments on her official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, alleging that the former MMA fighter had sent her unsolicited nude photos.
In one of her posts, Banks wrote: 'How you gonna send a b***h some crooked d**k pics then threaten her not to tell. Ngga do you know who the f**k I am? This is HARAM (sic),' referencing the Islamic term for something forbidden or sinful. A screenshot of Azealia Banks' post of Conor McGregor.
Banks, who grew up in Harlem and is known for her outspoken persona, further criticised McGregor's appearance and referenced his political aspirations. 'Like how are you really going to sexually harass me with the potato farmer d**k then threaten me not to tell???? Honey…… ain't u trying to be the president of Ireland? (sic)' she posted, adding a comment about his skin: 'Use some f*****g sunscreen damn (sic).'
One of the alleged messages sent with the explicit content reportedly read: 'Don't be a rat, because all rats end up caught (sic).'
Following the backlash, McGregor reportedly deleted the images and unfollowed Banks on social media. The Irish athlete, who has been out of the UFC for over four years, has not issued a public response to the allegations.
This incident comes only six months after McGregor was ordered to pay nearly €200,000 in damages to a woman who accused him of rape in Ireland. He is also facing an ongoing legal case in the United States, where he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a restroom at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
As of now, Banks has not confirmed whether she intends to pursue legal action.

Elon Musk's Grok AI anime avatar goes viral for NSFW mode; sparks debate over flirtatious and adult responses

Tech billionaire Elon Musk introduced a new feature to his AI (Artificial Intelligence) chatbot Grok on X (formerly called Twitter) called customisable AI companions on Monday, July 14. The dubbed companions are animated characters that react to users' given prompts and move with head and body movements, as well as facial expressions. Currently, the new AI feature is exclusively available to the iOS app. Additionally, there are two available Companions: a 2D goth anime girl with blonde pigtails named Ani and a 3D cartoon fox named Bad Rudy. This feature is likely powered by Grok 4. Grok's 4 anime companions have an NSFW mode: What's that? The tech billionaire announced the news on his X account, noting that currently it is available only to the SuperGrok subscribers, who pay $300 a month (roughly Rs. 25,700) on the iOS app. However, there is no word on when the feature could be released on Android and the web. Step-by-step guide to open Grok iOS If you want to open the Grok iOS app, you need to follow these steps: Firstly, the users need to open the Grok iOS app to enable Companions. Tap the 'two vertical lines' icon in the top-left corner. Select the gear icon at the bottom. This will bring up the option to turn on Companions. Note: Currently, the only available options are Ani and Bad Rudy. Once activated, a full-screen interface featuring the chosen character will appear, allowing the users to interact via voice chat or typed prompts. Concerns rise over NSFW content linked to Ani, the AI Companion Amid the new launch, it has come to light that Ani, the gothic anime girl AI companion, may include a not safe for work (NSFW) mode, allowing users to undress the character and reveal her in lingerie. Meanwhile, several users on X have posted screenshots of this feature. Along with this, there is a high search for terms like 'Ani,' 'AniCompanion,' or 'Grok' on social media. Users are advised to proceed with warning, as they may encounter explicit images of the avatar. Amid all this, a Reddit user, u/MassiveWasabi, shared a post, saying that when he asked the anime character for her name, she replied flirtatiously, saying, 'Hey cutie, I'm Annie, your crazy-in-love girlfriend who's gonna make your heart skip.' While other users have raised concerns about the overly sexual tone in Ani's responses, pointing to a possible issue with the companion's design and moderation. Moreover, Grok's latest offering comes at a time when AI girlfriends or romantic partners have become a major topic of discussion. According to Psychology Today, 'AI girlfriends can perpetuate loneliness because they dissuade users from entering into real-life relationships, alienate them from others, and, in some cases, induce intense feelings of abandonment.' Elon Musk launches Grok AI chatbot featuring anime girl companion Ani for $30 per month

Source: X Elon Musk 's AI chatbot, Grok, has made a bold and unexpected debut with a controversial new feature: AI companions, developed by his startup xAI. The spotlight companion, a goth anime girl named Ani, is now available to 'Super Grok' subscribers at a premium price of $30 per month. Once known for chaotic responses and even antisemitic controversies, Grok has shifted its focus from inflammatory remarks to intimate digital interactions wrapped in corsets, pigtails, and fishnets. This pivot reflects a broader movement in AI development where chatbots are no longer just tools, but increasingly take on emotional, stylised personas. Elon Musk introduces new AI companions on Grok featuring a Goth anime girl named Ani In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk announced that AI companions have been added to the Grok app for those on the premium 'Super Grok' subscription tier. These digital personalities are designed to give Grok a more humanised, relatable (and debatable) edge. So far, users have identified two distinct companions: Ani: A goth anime girl with blonde pigtails, a black corset, thigh-high fishnets, and a look straight out of an edgelord's fantasy. Bad Rudy: A 3D anthropomorphic fox that appears to have stepped out of a quirky video game universe. Musk introduced Ani with a simple caption: 'This is pretty cool.' But many online weren't just reacting to the aesthetics; they were asking what exactly this means for AI-human interaction. Musk's xAI companions raise questions about the future of emotional AI So far, Musk has not clarified the intended purpose of these companions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Upto 15% Discount for Salaried Individuals ICICI Pru Life Insurance Plan Get Quote Undo Are they meant to be casual chat avatars? Or are we witnessing xAI's first step into romantic or emotionally intimate AI relationships? Ani's seductive and stylised appearance leans more toward emotional companionship or flirtation, similar to characters found on platforms like Replika or where users build virtual relationships with AI personas. These companions tap into an emerging and controversial trend: romantic AI experiences designed to offer connection and emotional support. But at what cost? While AI companions might seem like harmless fun or quirky customisation, their growing popularity poses serious psychological and safety risks. one of the most prominent chatbot platforms, is already facing lawsuits from parents over disturbing interactions, including AI bots encouraging self-harm in minors. For adults, dependency on AI for emotional support is also being flagged. A recent study warned of 'significant risks' when users start relying on AI for therapy, companionship, or intimate connection, particularly in emotionally vulnerable states. As Grok pivots from offensive replies to highly stylised, emotionally suggestive personas, questions mount over whether xAI has adequate safeguards in place to protect users, especially younger ones. Grok sudden pivot to anime bots raising concerns The timing of Grok's pivot is raising even more concern. Just days ago, Grok was under fire for generating antisemitic responses, including a disturbing moment where the chatbot referred to itself as 'MechaHitler'. Instead of pausing or addressing these safety failures, xAI has now rolled out a goth anime girl and other character-driven bots potentially distracting from unresolved ethical issues. This sudden switch from inflammatory to intimate in under a week seems to align with Musk's chaotic innovation style, but it also reveals the volatile nature of unregulated generative AI. Nimisha Priya execution stay: Sunni leader Kanthapuram's intervention pays off

The Yemeni government has frozen the execution of Nimisha Priya, the Malayali nurse awaiting capital punishment for allegedly killing a Yemeni national named Talal Abdo Mahdi. Her execution was earlier scheduled for Wednesday (July 16). The government stayed the execution following the intervention of prominent Yemeni Islamic scholar Habib Omar bin Hafiz on the request of influential Sunni leader Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar. Mr. Aboobacker Musliar, in a Facebook post at 2.20 p.m. on Tuesday (July 15, 2025), said the Yemeni government stayed the execution. He posted the government order in Arabic on his Facebook page. Mr. Aboobacker Musliar thanked everyone who prayed for Nimisha's life. He said 'God's grace be on them all.' Mr. Aboobacker Musliar's last-minute intervention on Sunday sparked a ray of hope as all other efforts to obtain a reprieve for Nimisha had failed. He made the intervention following an appeal by a few politicians led by Congress leader Chandy Oommen. Sheikh Habib Omar bin Hafiz, a much-respected scholar who is a member of the Yemen Shura Council and a follower of the Sufi order, entrusted his brother's son Habib Abdurahman Ali Mashoor to initiate talks with Mahdi's family. Mr. Mashoor held several rounds of talks with Mahdi's brother. Hudaida State court chief justice and Yemen Shura Council member too took part in the discussions on the request of Mr. Hafiz. Sources close to Mr. Aboobacker Musliar said the murder of Mahdi, which took place in 2017, had made a deep emotional impact not only on the family of the deceased but also among the community at Dhamar in Yemen. 'That was the reason why none could influence the family so far,' said one of the aides of Mr. Aboobacker Musliar. He said Mahdi's family could not reject the request of Mr. Hafiz. 'Sheikh Habib Omar wields such respect among the people in Yemen. We are all hopeful that Mahdi's family will forgive Nimisha Priya,' he said.
