Biebergate2025: Justin Bieber impersonator performs at Las Vegas club after nightclub mix-up

Express Tribune21 hours ago
Justin Bieber was announced on stage at a Las Vegas nightclub last weekend, but the performer was not the Grammy award-winning artist. Instead, the singer who joined DJ Gryffin at XS Nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas on August 16 was a Bieber impersonator.
The DJ posted a video on Instagram explaining how he had been told that Bieber was at the venue and wanted to perform.
'His 'team' said he wanted to perform 'Sorry,'' a caption in the video read. Gryffin added that the look-alike not only resembled Bieber but also 'sounded like Justin Bieber.' The DJ later captioned the clip 'biebergate2025.'
Wynn Las Vegas confirmed the mix-up in a statement. 'After an elaborate and multi-step ruse by him and his advance team, a Justin Bieber impersonator was granted access to the XS stage. As soon as the error was recognized, he was removed from the resort and denied future entry.'
Footage showed the impersonator, with short hair, sunglasses and tattoos, singing the hit single 'Sorry' while Gryffin told the crowd, 'Bieber in the house, y'all.' After the performance, Gryffin was told the person on stage was not Bieber. 'No way,' he said, before being assured, 'Swear on my life.'
The impersonator was later identified as French performer Dylan Desclos. His manager Julien Colas said in a statement that Desclos never claimed to be the real Bieber. Desclos allegedly ran up a $10,000 tab at the bar before being removed and permanently banned.

Charley Crockett slams Nashville system, supports Beyoncé's country crossover

Country singer-songwriter Charley Crockett has spoken out in defense of Beyoncé and her Grammy-winning country-inspired album Cowboy Carter, while criticizing leading figures in modern country music and the Nashville industry. In a candid Instagram post on August 19, Crockett pushed back against critics targeting Beyoncé's presence in the genre, writing: 'Hey country folks. @beyonce ain't the source of your discontent. It was 25 years of bro country… These 'country boys' been singing over trap beats for years.' His comments appeared aimed at Morgan Wallen, who recently admitted he doesn't listen to much country music, despite topping the Billboard 200 with his album I'm the Problem. Crockett also took issue with Gavin Adcock, who publicly dismissed Cowboy Carter as not fitting within country music. Crockett countered, saying: 'I don't need to put down a Black woman to advance my music. That's just embarrassing to the idea of America.' The Texas-born artist further criticized the Nashville establishment, claiming he had once been pressured to release pre-written, formulaic albums. He praised authenticity in music, highlighting Texas rapper BigXthaPlug, whose upcoming project features collaborations with Luke Combs, Ella Langley, and Darius Rucker. Responses to Crockett's post were divided. Fellow country artists Kaitlin Butts and Chris Housman expressed support, while Adcock fired back on X and Instagram, mocking Crockett's originality. Crockett recently released his album Dollar a Day on August 8, part of a trilogy, while Adcock released Own Worst Enemy a week later. The debate underscores broader tensions in country music over genre boundaries, authenticity, and inclusion.

Morgan Wallen confirms he will not submit ‘I'm the Problem' for Grammy consideration

Morgan Wallen will not be submitting his latest chart-topping album, I'm the Problem, for Grammy Award consideration, his team confirmed to Variety. The decision includes not only Wallen's own submissions but also bars songwriters who contributed to the project from entering their work. The news, first reported by Hits and Billboard, had previously been attributed to unnamed sources, but Wallen's team has now provided official confirmation. I'm the Problem has been a commercial powerhouse since its release, spending 11 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The 37-track album includes multiple hits, such as four No. 1 singles on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, three on the Hot Country Songs chart, and the Billboard Hot 100-topping duet 'What I Want' with Tate McRae. Despite Wallen's massive commercial success and streaming dominance, he remains a polarizing figure within the music industry, likely influencing his absence from major award recognition. While he occasionally receives nominations, major industry awards, including the Grammys and those within the country music establishment, have largely overlooked him. To date, Wallen has received only one Grammy nomination, for his contribution to Post Malone's F1 Trillion album. Though Grammy boycotts have been a common move for artists feeling underrepresented or unfairly judged—such as the Weeknd, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé—many of those artists have since reconciled with the Recording Academy. Wallen's case appears to be more complex, with much of the tension rooted in the Nashville industry rather than with the Grammy voting base itself. While Wallen has yet to publicly comment on the decision, the lack of Grammy submissions underscores his ongoing estrangement from industry institutions, even as he remains one of country music's most commercially successful stars.

Brandy and Monica launch Dunkin' Cereal ‘N Milk Latte ahead of reunion tour

Brandy and Monica are blending music and nostalgia with a new collaboration alongside Dunkin'. The R&B icons have partnered with the coffee chain to launch the Cereal 'N Milk Latte, set to debut nationwide on August 20. The drink combines espresso with cereal milk and a marshmallow flavor, aiming to evoke the nostalgic taste of the last sip from a cereal bowl. The release coincides with the kickoff of The Boy Is Mine reunion tour — the first-ever co-headlining tour for the two artists, marking 25 years since their Grammy-winning 1998 hit of the same name. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Brandy explained that the idea stemmed from a creative pitch by Dunkin', which played off the title of their iconic song with the tagline 'The Latte Is Mine.' Brandy recalled, 'They reached out to us and had this exciting idea to play off of our song. We just thought that was so cute — and we fell in love with the drink!' Monica highlighted the drink's nostalgic flavor, describing it as 'a creamy espresso latte blended with cereal and milk — something we all grew up eating anyway.' She added, 'It has a familiar, nostalgic taste to it.' The duo also stars in a promotional commercial by Betches Studios, in which they humorously compete over the new latte, echoing the rivalry theme of their hit song before Brandy jokingly demands peace and a latte. As for the tour, both artists are keeping much of it under wraps. 'We aren't sharing any details about it,' Monica said, emphasizing their intention to preserve surprise for fans. 'You don't get to be genuinely surprised like you used to back in the '90s.' Confirmed guest appearances on the tour include Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and American Idol winner Jamal Roberts. Brandy promised audiences 'one of the best shows ever — vocally, stage, everything.' The Cereal 'N Milk Latte will be available at participating Dunkin' locations, as well as through the app and online, beginning August 20.
