Man in serious condition in hospital following incident in Co Armagh
A man is in a serious condition in hospital following an incident close to the Irish border in Co Armagh.
Police have issued an appeal for information following a report that the man sustained serious head injuries in the vicinity of the Edenappa Road close to Jonesborough in the early hours of Saturday.
Three men were arrested and questioned about the incident.

A police spokesperson said: 'The man is currently in hospital in a serious condition as inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
'Three men aged 27, 34 and 42, were arrested in connection with the investigation but have all been released on bail to allow for further inquiries to be conducted.
'Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference CW 35 31/05/25.'

The message claims to be from Bank of Ireland, and the message will sound like a genuine Bank of Ireland text, with messages often saying "Do you recognise this transaction?'; or 'A transaction for [value] to [merchant] was declined and your card has been placed on hold' - followed by 'if this was not you / if you don't recognise this / etc. please call us back on [callback phone number]. The callback number will be answered by someone claiming to be from Bank of Ireland, and there has been suspicious transactions and the customer's account is compromised. Advertisement The person will then be asked if they have a Revlout or other secondary account. If they say yes, they will be told to move their money in their Bank of Ireland account into their own Revolut account/ or secondary account. The victim is then told they then need to move their money from their Revolut account to a new 'safe' account. Callback numbers are usually landline numbers including 01 / 1800 / regional codes.

Woman appears in court charged with murdering mum ‘found buried in garden' 15 years after she vanished
A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with murdering a mum "found buried in a garden" 15 years after she vanished. Izabela Zablocka disappeared on August 28, 2010, after speaking to her family in Poland. 3 Police launched a murder probe two weeks ago after new information came to light. Human remains, believed to belong to Izabela, were then found in the garden of a home in Normanton, Derbyshire. Anna Podedworna appeared at Derbyshire Magistrates' Court today charged with murder. The 39-year-old is also accused of preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice. Podedworna spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address during the hearing. She was remanded into custody to next appear at Derby Crown Court on Monday. Five people have been arrested as part of the murder investigation, including two women aged 39 and 43. All five have bailed pending further inquiries, Derbyshire Police confirmed. Izabela came to the UK from Poland in 2009 and worked at the former Cranberry Foods Turkey and Chicken Factory. Her family reported her missing to Polish police in August 2010 but the report never reached British cops. Her daughter Kasia, who was nine at the time of her mum's disappearance, contacted Derbyshire Police in May. She spoke out after the body was found, telling The Sun: "I definitely want to know the truth as soon as possible." Samanatha Shallow, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor in the East Midlands, said: 'Following a review of the evidence provided by Derbyshire Constabulary, we have authorised criminal charges in relation to the death of Izabela Zablocka 'Ms Zablocka went missing in August 2010, when she was aged 30. Her body was recovered in Derby on 1 June 2025. 'Anna Podedworna, 39, from Derby, has been charged with her murder. She has also been charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial and perverting the course of justice. 'Our thoughts remain with the family of Ms Zablocka at this time." Teenager dies in single-vehicle collision in Co Kildare
A teenager has died following a single-vehicle collision in Newbridge, Co Kildare, on Thursday night. The incident happened involving a pick-up truck, shortly after 8pm on the Barrettstown Road. Advertisement The passenger, an adult male in his late teens, was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Coroner has been informed, and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The male driver, aged in his teens, was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other injuries reported. The road remains closed at this time pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.45pm and 8.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
