Is ‘The Better Sister' returning for season 2? Everything we know so far

The Better Sister , a gripping thriller series starring Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks, premiered on Prime Video on May 29, 2025. Based on Alafair Burke's 2019 novel, the eight-episode limited series captivated audiences with its twisty murder mystery and complex family dynamics. Fans are now eager to know: will there be a Season 2 of The Better Sister ? Here's everything we know so far. Has The Better Sister Been Renewed for Season 2?
As of June 16, 2025, Prime Video has not officially confirmed a second season for The Better Sister . The show was marketed as a limited series, and the first season fully adapts the standalone novel by Alafair Burke, resolving the central mystery of Adam Macintosh's murder. However, limited series like The White Lotus , Beef , and Good Omens have been renewed for additional seasons due to strong viewership and fan demand, leaving room for speculation. What Could Season 2 Be About?
Since the first season adapts the entirety of Burke's novel, a second season would require an original storyline. Several plot threads from Season 1 could set the stage:
Jake Rodriguez's Death: The shocking death of Jake, a key character and Chloe's lover, introduces a new mystery. Unlike the book, where Jake survives, the series alters his fate, potentially linking his death to the Gentry Group, a shadowy organization Adam was investigating. Season 2 could explore whether the Gentry Group targets Chloe's family in retaliation for her role in exposing them to the FBI.
The Sisters' Cover-Up: Nicky's guilt in Adam's murder and Chloe's role in framing Bill Braddock could come under scrutiny. Detective Nancy Guidry (Kim Dickens) suspects Nicky's involvement after learning she knew details about the murder only the killer would know. A second season might focus on the sisters' efforts to evade justice while grappling with their moral choices.
Ethan's Future: Ethan, caught in the crossfire of his family's secrets, faces ongoing challenges. His attempt to protect Chloe by staging the crime scene and his struggles with addiction could be further explored, especially as he navigates his relationship with both sisters. Where to Watch The Better Sister
All eight episodes of The Better Sister Season 1 are available to stream on Prime Video. Interested viewers can catch up on the thrilling drama before any potential Season 2 updates.

Michael Sheen Sounds Unconvinced That the ‘Good Omens' Finale Special Will Be Released
But sources say Prime Video is still planning on releasing the special in the wake of the allegations against Neil Gaiman. It's been a roller-coaster of emotions for Good Omens fans since that heartbreaking season two finale. News that the Prime Video adaptation would get a third and final season came in December 2023; the following year, production was reportedly paused amid the allegations against showrunner and source material co-author Neil Gaiman. Then, fans learned Gaiman was reportedly pulling back from Good Omens season three—followed by the announcement in October 2024 that season three was going to be a 90-minute special instead of a full slate of episodes. However, a recent interview with star Michael Sheen, who plays the angelic Aziraphale opposite David Tennant's demonic Crowley, has sown some doubt that the special may ever see the light of day. Speaking to the Times (via Collider), Sheen was asked about Good Omens in a way that framed its 'potential return,' a worrisome way of referring to what fans had assumed was a done deal. 'I really don't know what's going to happen with it,' Sheen said of the finale. He also implied that production was completed on it, and made mention of the Gaiman situation that's unfortunately become part of the show's external narrative: '[Tennant and I] were both relieved we finished the story, but that's within this really difficult, complicated, disturbing context. I hope people get to see it, but that, to a large extent, is out of our hands.' A source familiar with the matter told io9 that the series finale is still moving forward. Though we're still waiting on an official announcement, we're crossing our fingers we'll get to see how Aziraphale and Crowley's 'ineffable' relationship plays out. We'll keep you updated if and when any additional Good Omens finale news becomes available.

Threads is testing spoiler text, Zuckerberg says
Threads, Meta's microblogging platform, is testing spoiler text, according to a post from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Spoiler text refers to words (or images) that are grayed out in a post and only become readable if you manually click to see them. As the name suggests, spoiler text is often used on platforms like Discord or Reddit to help people communicate about new movies, TV shows, or books without accidentally revealing plot points and twists for people who aren't caught up. This is a nice quality-of-life upgrade on the user side, but it also helps Meta by encouraging more conversations about pop culture without people worrying about spoiling others. 'Popular shows like 'The Last of Us' and 'The White Lotus' regularly trended on Threads during their seasons, a clear sign of the app's growing community of entertainment and pop culture enthusiasts,' Meta said in a press release. Spoiler text can also be useful in other circumstances, like blurring out text or images that aren't violative, but still might be off-putting to some users. (Looking at my friend who shares #BruiseWatch updates after their Frisbee games.) As a feature that's currently in testing, spoiler text/images have not rolled out to all users. For those who have it, text or images can be marked as spoilers by highlighting them before posting, then selecting 'mark spoiler' from the menu that appears.
