Michael Sheen Sounds Unconvinced That the ‘Good Omens' Finale Special Will Be Released

Gizmodo16-06-2025
But sources say Prime Video is still planning on releasing the special in the wake of the allegations against Neil Gaiman.
It's been a roller-coaster of emotions for Good Omens fans since that heartbreaking season two finale. News that the Prime Video adaptation would get a third and final season came in December 2023; the following year, production was reportedly paused amid the allegations against showrunner and source material co-author Neil Gaiman. Then, fans learned Gaiman was reportedly pulling back from Good Omens season three—followed by the announcement in October 2024 that season three was going to be a 90-minute special instead of a full slate of episodes.
However, a recent interview with star Michael Sheen, who plays the angelic Aziraphale opposite David Tennant's demonic Crowley, has sown some doubt that the special may ever see the light of day. Speaking to the Times (via Collider), Sheen was asked about Good Omens in a way that framed its 'potential return,' a worrisome way of referring to what fans had assumed was a done deal.
'I really don't know what's going to happen with it,' Sheen said of the finale.
He also implied that production was completed on it, and made mention of the Gaiman situation that's unfortunately become part of the show's external narrative: '[Tennant and I] were both relieved we finished the story, but that's within this really difficult, complicated, disturbing context. I hope people get to see it, but that, to a large extent, is out of our hands.'
A source familiar with the matter told io9 that the series finale is still moving forward.
Though we're still waiting on an official announcement, we're crossing our fingers we'll get to see how Aziraphale and Crowley's 'ineffable' relationship plays out. We'll keep you updated if and when any additional Good Omens finale news becomes available.

How's the Chicken? You'd Better Not Ask

London's in the middle of a rotisserie chicken craze. Everyone here has a list of favorites, with arguments breaking out that are almost as heated as those over the fine points of burgers and pizza. My go-to's are Norbert's, across the Thames, in East Dulwich, where a whole bird comes with multiple sauces on the side, plus maddeningly addictive frites; and the bird at The Knave of Clubs, marinated in North African-style charmoula, rich in garlic, cumin and other spices. Unlike burgers and pizza, however, chicken — while relatively inexpensive as an ingredient — can fly both high and low in terms of cuisine. It can be served bone-in with morels and a buttery vin jaune sauce; or it can present itself as a little, breaded, irresistible, deep-fried nugget.

Ex-Liverpool star Andy Carroll dumps girlfriend Lou Teasdale after growing 'sick' of her 'demands & influencer lifestyle' two months on from being quizzed by police over holiday rows

Carroll splits with girlfriend Couple have had problems recently Striker back in England with Dagenham & Redbridge Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? The 36-year-old was quizzed twice by Greek police in June after bust-ups with Teasdale on holiday. The pair had been dating since Carroll split with former partner Billi Mucklow and had been tipped to get married. However, it now appears their romance is all over, with Carroll struggling to cope with Teasdale's influencer lifestyle. WHAT HAS BEEN SAID A source told The Sun: "Andy got sick of Lou's demands and her influencer lifestyle. She's always posting on social media and he hates that. He told her it was over this week. He's single now." One of Carroll's friends also told the tabloid: "Andy and Lou have been having massive rows for a while. It's been a tough time and now he's back in the UK, he just wants to focus on football and his kids. He hates the influencer lifestyle. He has no interest in posing for loved-up pics. He's most happy spending time with his children and kicking a ball around. Money and fame means nothing to him these days. It was clearly causing issues between them." THE GOSSIP Carroll is back in the UK after two years in France with Bordeaux. The striker has made the shock move to Dagenham & Redbridge, joking that his kids though he was "signing for Chelsea". Carroll was said to be eager to head back to England for family reasons and has also taken a shareholder role at the club following a recent takeover from a Qatari investment consortium. WHAT NEXT FOR CARROLL? Carroll endured a humiliating 5-1 defeat on his debut for Dagenham & Redbridge, and has since been laid low with a hamstring injury. He will play no part when the team returns to action on Saturday against Salisbury in the National League.
