Michael Sheen Sounds Unconvinced That the ‘Good Omens' Finale Special Will Be Released

Gizmodo6 hours ago

But sources say Prime Video is still planning on releasing the special in the wake of the allegations against Neil Gaiman.
It's been a roller-coaster of emotions for Good Omens fans since that heartbreaking season two finale. News that the Prime Video adaptation would get a third and final season came in December 2023; the following year, production was reportedly paused amid the allegations against showrunner and source material co-author Neil Gaiman. Then, fans learned Gaiman was reportedly pulling back from Good Omens season three—followed by the announcement in October 2024 that season three was going to be a 90-minute special instead of a full slate of episodes.
However, a recent interview with star Michael Sheen, who plays the angelic Aziraphale opposite David Tennant's demonic Crowley, has sown some doubt that the special may ever see the light of day. Speaking to the Times (via Collider), Sheen was asked about Good Omens in a way that framed its 'potential return,' a worrisome way of referring to what fans had assumed was a done deal.
'I really don't know what's going to happen with it,' Sheen said of the finale.
He also implied that production was completed on it, and made mention of the Gaiman situation that's unfortunately become part of the show's external narrative: '[Tennant and I] were both relieved we finished the story, but that's within this really difficult, complicated, disturbing context. I hope people get to see it, but that, to a large extent, is out of our hands.'
A source familiar with the matter told io9 that the series finale is still moving forward.
Though we're still waiting on an official announcement, we're crossing our fingers we'll get to see how Aziraphale and Crowley's 'ineffable' relationship plays out. We'll keep you updated if and when any additional Good Omens finale news becomes available.

Royal Ascot racegoers hoping to see King and Queen

Royal Ascot racegoers are expecting the King and Queen to join them for the opening day of the sporting event and major social occasion. Charles and Camilla, both fans of racing, are likely to arrive in the famous carriage procession along the course and past the stands that will welcome hundreds of thousands of punters during the five-day meet in Berkshire. The head of state and his wife will be hoping for a winner in the Ascot Stakes when their horse Reaching High, trained by Willie Mullins, takes on other thoroughbreds. Mullins, reflecting on the thoroughbred's narrow defeat at Leopardstown racecourse in Ireland, said: 'I've been very happy since his first run, he did everything nicely at Leopardstown and if he could run a similar type of race at Ascot I would be very pleased.' Queen Elizabeth II was a passionate owner and breeder of thoroughbreds and had more than 20 Royal Ascot winners during her 70-year reign. Charles and Camilla have taken on her stable of horses and enjoyed their first Royal Ascot winner in 2023 when their horse Desert Hero triumphed in the King George V Stakes.

'It is very different,' she smiled in response to host Emma Grede's observation that the public narrative surrounding her has drastically changed. When Grede asks Meghan if she could "rewrite" her public narrative, the 43-year-old said, "Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth." This admission is part of an upcoming episode that promises to explore Markle's journey throughout the years. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 The podcast appearance followed recent criticism from some about a video shared on Instagram June 4 where Markle and her husband danced—and twerked—while awaiting the arrival of their daughter Princess Lilibet in 2021. 'Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work - there was only one thing left to do! 😂,' she wrote in the caption. The couple also share a son, Prince Archie, 6. Fans were quick to criticize Markle's moves, many noting how the video was distasteful. Megyn Kelly even slammed the Duchess, calling the video 'bizarre' and 'uncomfortable,' among other things, and just an attempt to look good to the public. 'She wants us to love her, whatever it takes,' Kelly, 54, stated on her show, The Megyn Kelly Show.
