Here are my initial 2025 positional rankings for PPR leagues.
While these rankings are intended for full PPR leagues, a switch to half PPR or standard scoring would not result in many major changes. These rankings are also intended to be used primarily for managed re-draft leagues. If you're playing best ball, they can still serve as a good reference, but keep in mind that players with extremely high single week upside, as well as rookies, would move up significantly in those formats.
Remember, it's only May, so these rankings are still extremely fluid. I'll continue to adjust as news comes out, so definitely keep checking back in for the latest updates. And as we get closer to fantasy draft season, I will expand these positional rankings as well as my overall big board. In the meantime, let me know who you think I'm either too low or too high on for this upcoming season!

NY Giants Star Issued Jaxson Dart an NFL Reality Check

Since Jaxson Dart hasn't suited up for his first NFL game yet, the rookie can't claim his first "welcome to the league" moment. However, with a handful of minicamp practices in the bag, the rookie quarterback can say he's quickly getting a reality check, and it's all thanks to the two-time Pro Bowler, Brian Burns. "I don't think I've had, like, my full experience of kind of seeing that, but I've had a little experience with Brian Burns chasing me," Dart said, according to GiantsWire, discussing the speed of the game at the NFL level. "He had a read option play and just, you know, his ability to come back and chase me down was kind of crazy." Burns is a good test for a young guy like Dart. After collecting three seasons of NCAA experience at Florida State, the linebacker entered the NFL as the 16th overall pick in the 2019 Draft. He spent all but one of his first six seasons playing for the Carolina Panthers. In Carolina, Burns played 80 games with 67 of those matchups as a starter. He registered nearly 250 tackles and produced 46 sacks over that time. During the 2021 and 2022 NFL seasons, Burns was voted into the league's Pro Bowl game. During the 2023 season, which served as his final in Carolina, Burns picked up 50 tackles and eight sacks. Carolina wanted Burns on the franchise tag. They ended up trading him to the Giants eight days after tagging him. New York rewarded Burns with a five-year deal. After getting paid the big bucks, the veteran appeared in 17 games in 2024. He racked up another 8.5 sacks and 71 tackles. The Giants hope that Burns can continue to keep up his high level of play on game days and in practice, where he's challenging a youngster like Dart. Following a four-season run in the NCAA, which included one season with USC and the rest at Ole Miss, Dart enters the New York market with expectations of eventually taking over as the franchise quarterback of the Giants. Since Dart trails two seasoned veterans on the depth chart, offseason practices and the preseason will be critical to his development this year. Although the Giants are still building to reach contender status in the NFC, they have plenty of solid veterans around to help Dart in his early development. Burns' NFL reality check will be one valuable lesson as New York prepares for the final phase of minicamp and training camp soon.

Jalen Ramsey skipping start of Dolphins minicamp with trade talks simmering
Jalen Ramsey will not be at the Dolphins' minicamp when it opens this week as the two sides continue to search for a trade for the cornerback. The player and team mutually agreed to part ways back in April, but so far, a trade hasn't materialized and it has led to Ramsey opting not to attend mandatory minicamp this week, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday. A former All-Pro defender and seven-time Pro Bowler, Ramsey has spent his last two seasons with the Dolphins and appeared in all 17 games last season in South Florida. It would appear that both sides are ready to move on from each other as the organization begins to prepare for the 2025 season. Advertisement Asked about it last week, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters he wasn't paying much mind to it. 'I don't really check in on a day-to-day [basis]. Zero has changed from my end. I let [general manager] Chris [Grier] work, and I'm diligently coaching,' he said. Advertisement In order to swing any sort of deal, a team would have to be willing to take on the massive contract that includes a $16.6 million cap hit for the upcoming season. Ramsey did see a dip in his play last season when he missed the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2016. He had 60 tackles, a sack, two interceptions and 11 passes defended. Advertisement Ramsey had been taken fifth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Jaguars and played there until he was traded to the Rams in the middle of the 2019 season. He played in Los Angeles until he was traded to Miami in the 2023 offseason.

Nick Chubb expected to sign with Texans in free agency after Browns exit
Nick Chubb is likely headed to a new destination. The free agent running back appears poised to continue his NFL career in Houston, according to NFL Network, who said he's expected to join the Texans on Monday pending a successful physical. Getty Images He quickly became one of the league's best running backs, posting four consecutive 1,000‑yard rushing seasons from 2019-22 with a 5.2 yard-per-carry average. For his efforts, Chubb was named to the Pro Bowl each of those four seasons and was a second-team All-Pro in 2022. Advertisement However, Chubb has suited up for just 10 games over the past two seasons, first tearing his MCL and ACL in Week 2 of 2023 and later breaking his foot in December 2024. Cleveland made it pretty clear they were moving on from Chubb after selecting running backs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson in the 2025 NFL Draft in the second and fourth rounds respectively to go with returnee Jerome Ford. Getty Images Houston's running back room, currently headlined by Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce, Woody Marks and Dare Ogunbowale, would get a bit more crowded if the former Pro Bowler lands there. Advertisement Mixon finished his first year with Houston, recording 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns last season on the ground. Mixon also caught 36 passes for 309 yards and scored one touchdown through the air. Marks and Ogunbowale are expected to deepen the rotation, and Pierce, once a fantasy darling, was firmly relegated to a secondary role with Mixon's signing last season. The addition of Chubb could offer Houston a formidable 1‑2 punch in the backfield.
