2
Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) would soon pave the way for a recruitment drive aimed at filling approximately 30,000 posts of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) and Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), along with around 4,000 vacancies for principals in non-government aided secondary schools across the state.
The final approval for the e-requisition format, which will kickstart this recruitment process, was given during a high-level meeting held on Friday.
The meeting, chaired by Commission chairperson Prof. Kirti Pandey, included senior officials from the Commission as well as representatives from the Directorate of Higher Education and Directorate of Secondary Education.
The primary agenda was to discuss and finalise the format of the electronic requisition (e-requisition) that will be used to notify and process the vacancies online.
This format was provided by the Directorate of Higher Education and Secondary Education and will be integrated into a recruitment portal developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), following guidelines from the personnel department.
NIC is expected to complete the development of the portal within 10 to 15 days. Meanwhile, the concerned directorates will collect detailed vacancy information through an online system.

The Directorate of Secondary Education is scheduled to submit the requisition for the vacant posts to the Commission by August, marking the formal start of the recruitment process for these crucial teaching and leadership roles.
The meeting also highlighted vacancies in non-government aided colleges, where approximately 100 principal posts and 859 assistant professor posts remain unfilled.
The Directorate of Higher Education has already gathered vacancy data from these colleges.
Assistant director Prof BL Sharma informed that once portal is ready, e-requisition for these positions will be submitted to the Commission to begin recruitment. Additionally, the commission faces recruitment challenges in Basic Education and Atal Residential Schools. Officials from the Basic Education Department indicated that they are currently addressing reservation-related issues concerning vacant posts.
The e-requisition format for these posts will be prepared soon after the resolution of these matters.
Simultaneously, the Atal Residential School Committee and Directorate of Training and Employment are working on necessary amendments to departmental rules. Once these amendments are finalised, the departments will compile vacancy details and forward tequisitions to the Commission for recruitment action. This comprehensive recruitment initiative aims to strengthen the quality of education by filling long-standing vacancies in non-government aided secondary schools and colleges across Uttar Pradesh.
