WWE veteran Natalya is receiving widespread praise for her response to a fan on social media. The fan accused WWE of demoting the long-tenured superstar.
Natalya has been a cornerstone of WWE's women's division for years. Now in her 25th year as a professional wrestler, she has expanded her presence beyond the main roster.
Natalya's Recent Appearances Outside Of The Main Roster
In addition to her work on Raw and SmackDown, Natalya has recently competed for other promotions. She has made appearances for the NWA and GCW.
This trend continued with a recent appearance on the WWE EVOLVE brand. She saved the inaugural EVOLVE Women's Champion, Kali Armstrong, from an attack by Nikkita Lyons and Zayda Steel.
This angle has led to a tag team match being scheduled for the next EVOLVE episode. The match will feature Natalya and Armstrong against Lyons and Steel.
Natalya Responds To Fan's "Demotion" Claim
Following the announcement of her EVOLVE appearance, a fan on social media suggested it was a demotion. The former Divas Champion quickly and firmly dismissed this idea.
She explained that she was the one who requested the opportunity to compete on the show. Her goal is to face a wide variety of opponents.
"I very specifically asked to compete on this show for many reasons. I want to wrestle against women from every corner of our industry. When you've been hungry, you can never be full. #EVOLVE," Natalya wrote.

A Veteran's Desire To Compete
Natalya's response highlights her passion for competition. She is actively seeking out new challenges and opponents.
This desire to constantly test her skills shows her dedication to the sport. It refutes any notion that working on different brands is a step down.
Her last match on main roster programming was during the May 26 Main Event tapings. She was defeated in a singles match by Roxanne Perez.
This came one week after Perez won a Money in the Bank qualifying match. That match also involved Natalya and Becky Lynch. WWE has a real chance to do something of note with Nataya should they give her the chance to go out and shine the way many fans think she can.

Netflix: Earnings preview & possible UFC deal

Netflix (NFLX) will release its second quarter results after Thursday's closing bell. Additionally, the streaming giant may double down on wrestling amid its ongoing push into live sports. Yahoo Finance Senior Reporter Allie Canal explores murmurs that Netflix could announce a deal to license UFC, building upon its success with WWE. To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Asking for a Trend here. A new earnings season is underway, and we're getting a big report from Netflix on Thursday. For more, we're bringing in here Yahoo Finance senior reporter, Allie Canal. Allie. Hey, Josh. Well, expectations are high, of course, especially for Netflix. I'm taking a look at shares behind me. Year to date, we are up a whopping 40%. We are trading at evaluation double the benchmark S&P 500. So that's the big focus here heading into this earnings report. There are some analysts on Wall Street who say maybe all that optimism has been priced into this stock. JP Morgan, for example, has a neutral rating on shares. They have a price target of 1200 bucks, so they see a bit of deceleration. But others say this valuation is justified, that if you look at all the tech opportunities out there, Netflix is one of those high-growth stocks that over the next two to three years are going to continue to outperform. Now, as a reminder, the company no longer reports subscriber figures. So the focus here is going to be on the advertising business as well as a strong content slate. We have the return of those big tentpole shows like Stranger Things, Wednesday. We recently saw the return of Squid Game at the end of last month. So that's been an exciting moment for this company as it gears up for the back half of the year. There's also talk that Netflix could be bidding on UFC media rights. They've had a lot of success with WWE. So that's been a rumor that's been circulating around Hollywood. So we'll see if we have any more clarity on that on the earnings call. But all things considered, this is a strong company, lots of momentum, and really the start of big tech earnings season. We've seen a strong start to earnings season right now with the banks. We'll see if Netflix can deliver tomorrow. And Allie, here's another question I have for you. The UFC, which analysts are writing about, you know, when they're previews their research notes. They're saying maybe there could be some smoke here. Yeah, and Dana White, he sits on the board of the UFC, and he said that this is a company that's looking to maybe go more global. So the immediate streamers that come to mind is Netflix, Amazon. Both of those companies have dabbled in sports in the past, but I think the fact that Netflix has gone so far into WWE and has seen a lot of that success bodes well for the possibility that they could bid on UFC. Now, UFC currently airs on ESPN, so this would be a switch up, uh, taking it away from Disney. So sports in general seems to be the general direction that Netflix is heading in. They want these live event moments, these big tentpole moments. They're also experimenting with other types of live content, a potential partnership with Spotify for concert series. We saw them air a few NFL games as well. So this wouldn't be a deviation from their strategy, and certainly, when there's smoke, sometimes there's fire. So again, Josh, I think we're going to hear this on the call, and we'll see what those executives have to say. Yeah, Dana White saying more than likely we're going to end up with a platform that is way more global than we are now. We shall see. Allie, thank you. Steelers' Cam Heyward reveals how he'd stop a T.J. Watt trade

Fear not Steelers fans, T.J. Watt isn't going anywhere — at least not if Cam Heyward has anything to say about it. On Wednesday's edition of The Rich Eisen Show, Heyward shared his honest feelings on the Watt extension negotiations with special guest WWE superstar Seth Rollins and co-host Chris Brockman — including how he'd jokingly put a stop to any trade talk: "Man, that's my brother,' Heyward said. 'I want [Watt] to get paid what he deserves. That dude is one of the most fierce and best players in our league. And he's respected throughout the league. I've had the best time being able to play with him, and I hope this year is not the last time we play together, because that dude, that's my running mate, and we create a lot of havoc together. And I just want to see that guy continue to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, and be a one-helmet guy.' 'I'm going up to Omar and I'm telling him, 'That's not happening,'' Heyward continued, referencing the Watt trade rumors. 'If there's even a trade that gets up there, I don't think it helps our team to trade a guy like that.' It's unlikely the Steelers deal Watt — but if they ever considered it, they'd surely have Heyward to answer to. With Steelers training camp action set to kick off on July 24, fans will soon learn if Watt plans to hold out amid contract negotiations that have begun to turn ugly. CM Punk Details How Vince McMahon Ruined Past WWE Return

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. CM Punk has revealed new details about a secret meeting he had with Vince McMahon and Triple H to discuss a potential WWE return, years before he actually came back at Survivor Series 2023. In a new interview, Punk detailed a "handshake agreement" that was made, and how it all fell apart. Speaking with Robbie Fox on the My Mom's Basement podcast, the former WWE Champion shared the story of the clandestine meeting. He said it took place in 2018 or 2019, long before his eventual return to the company. CM Punk's Secret WWE Meeting Punk explained that after his agents had been in contact with WWE, Vince McMahon began calling him personally to "eliminate the middleman." This led to a face-to-face meeting in Atlantic City with both Vince McMahon and Triple H. "We had a meeting and we had a handshake agreement and then he ghosted me," Punk revealed (H/T to Fightful). "So, that's why it didn't happen. Unbelievable." He added that this story corrects the internet perception that he tried to return to WWE and was rejected, which then led him to take the analyst job on FOX's WWE Backstage show. He clarified that the failed return plan is what led to the FOX opportunity, not the other way around. WWE/Getty Images The Infamous 2014 WWE Exit The fact that a meeting even took place was significant given the circumstances of Punk's departure from WWE in 2014. He famously walked out of the company following the Royal Rumble that year, citing creative burnout and serious health concerns that he felt were being ignored. His grievances were aired in a legendary podcast interview that created a deep and bitter rift between him and the company, which included lawsuits and public animosity that lasted for years. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation The fallout from his exit made a potential return seem impossible for nearly a decade, which is why this secret meeting was such a monumental step. Mending Fences With Triple H The meeting was also a pivotal moment in Punk's historically contentious relationship with Triple H. During his first run, Punk was very public about his belief that Triple H never saw him as a top star and actively worked against his creative direction. Punk revealed that this secret meeting was the first time he and Triple H began to repair their broken relationship. "That would have been probably the first time that me and Triple H probably started chipping it away at any problems or drama that we had in the past," he said. "That was the first instance." While that return plan ultimately fell through after McMahon "ghosted" him, the initial conversation was a crucial first step. It laid the groundwork for the working relationship with Triple H that would eventually facilitate his shocking and successful return at Survivor Series 2023.
