"At least till 2029, there is no scope for us to come there (Opposition). Uddhav Ji can think about the scope of coming to this side (ruling party) and that can be thought about in a different way, but there is absolutely no scope left for us to come there (Opposition)," Fadnavis said.
Meanwhile, while addressing the Question Hour session in the
Maharashtra Legislative Council
, Devendra Fadnavis informed that 41,193 missing children have been traced so far through '
Operation Muskaan
', while 4,960 women and 1,364 children have been traced under 'Operation Khoj' this year alone.
The Chief Minister said that taking the missing cases seriously, '
Missing Cell
' has been established in all police stations and its responsibility has been handed over to senior women officers.

He also clarified that data is being shared between the state and the Centre through the Missing Portal so that the record of every missing person is uploaded and updated on time.
However, Leader of Opposition
Ambadas Danve
, while appreciating these efforts, raised the point that only finding people is not enough but concrete policies should also be made on social aspects like child marriage, human trafficking.
The Chief Minister assured that the government will analyse these cases from a sociological perspective and take effective steps in the future.
On July 11, Uddhav Thackeray took a swipe against the ruling Mahayuti government, saying that the bill should be renamed as "
BJP security bill
".
He further accused the ruling Mahayuti government of "misusing majority" while alerting that the government could "pick up" commoners and imprison them.
"They can pick up anyone, including ordinary people, and imprison them. This bill is similar to previous acts like MESA and TADA. This bill should be called the 'BJP security bill' instead of the public security bill, as they believe speaking out against the BJP is tantamount to criticising the country. Currently, we don't support this bill," Thackeray, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, told reporters here.

50 calls from Fadnavis, no reply: Eknath Shinde rips into Uddhav for ditching BJP

"Maharashtra has never seen a chameleon changing colours so fast. He went with those whom he once considered lowly," Shinde said in an apparent reference to Thackeray joining hands with the Congress after severing the alliance with the was because of his (Shinde's) request that Fadnavis had agreed to cede the post of Mumbai's mayor to the Shiv Sena in 2017 after the Sena won 84 seats and the BJP 82 in the civic polls, Shinde said."But he (Thackeray) betrayed Fadnavis in 2019 (by walking out of the alliance)," Shinde also claimed that while he and rebel Sena MLAs supporting him were camping in Guwahati in 2022 after rebelling against Thackeray, the latter approached him for reconciliation, and at the same time told the BJP leadership in Delhi not to support the rebel said the Thackeray government had announced starting a music school in the name of Lata Mageshkar after the singing legend's when the Mangeshkar family awarded the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thackeray got so upset that he decided against starting the music school, Shinde he became chief minister in 2022, he started the music school, Shinde Shinde's reminder of Thackeray 'betraying' Fadnavis and the BJP in 2019 came a day after the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief met the Maharashtra Chief Minister.A day earlier, Fadnavis, in a tongue-in-cheek remark in the House, had asked Thackeray to come over to the ruling side.- EndsMust Watch

'Yeh Andar Ki Baat Hai': Uddhav Thackeray's Reply To Fadnavis' 'Join Us' Offer

Last Updated: Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) split from the BJP after the 2019 assembly elections due to disagreements over power-sharing Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray on Friday responded with sarcasm and a sharp metaphor when asked about Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' recent invitation to 'come to the ruling side." Speaking to reporters at the state assembly, Thackeray referred to a comment he had just made to the print media, saying, 'Before speaking to you, I was speaking to the print media. I spoke about the chaddi baniyan gang. Chaddi baniyans also have an advertisement – yeh andar ki baat hai (this is an inside matter)." Mumbai, Maharashtra: On CM Devendra Fadnavis's 'come to rulling side' statement, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray says, 'This is an internal matter" — IANS (@ians_india) July 18, 2025 The ' chaddi baniyan gang" reference came from Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar, who earlier this week had accused the BJP-led Mahayuti government of turning Maharashtra into a '20 per cent commission state." He also claimed that while 'koyta gangs" (knife-wielding groups) were causing fear in Pune, the ruling alliance had its own version of 'chaddi baniyan gangs" who used violence when things didn't go their way. In a light-hearted tone, Fadnavis told Thackeray, 'Uddhav ji, there is no scope (for a change in government) till 2029. We do not have the scope to come to the other (opposition's) side. You have the scope to come here, and it can be thought about. We can think about it differently." Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) split from the BJP after the 2019 assembly elections due to disagreements over power-sharing, particularly the Chief Minister's post. The break led to a major political shift in the state. Interestingly, just a day after Fadnavis' comments, Uddhav Thackeray met the Chief Minister in the legislative council chairperson's chamber. The half-hour meeting was also attended by Uddhav's son, Worli MLA Aaditya Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray changed colours like chameleon: Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ekanth Shinde

Mumbai: Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde on Friday hit out at Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray , accusing him of betraying BJP 's Devendra Fadnavis in 2019 by playing "opportunist politics" akin to a chameleon that changes its colours. "Now, you offer a bouquet to Fadnavis, and also criticise PM Modi and Amit Shah, which shows a 'chemical locha' in your mind," Shinde said. Replying to the opposition's last week motion in the legislative council, Shinde said, without naming Thackeray, that Fadnavis made "40-50 calls" after the alliance of the undivided Shiv Sena and BJP retained its majority in the 2019 assembly elections. But there was no response to the BJP leader's calls, he said. Shinde said it was on his request that Fadnavis had agreed to cede Mumbai mayor post to Shiv Sena in 2017, after Sena won 84 seats and BJP 82 in civic polls. "But he [Thackeray] betrayed Fadnavis in 2019 [by walking out of the alliance]." A day earlier, Fadnavis, in a tongue-in-cheek remark in the House, had asked Thackeray to come over to the ruling side. "We did not commit the sin of shutting down Marathi schools and starting international schools," he said, referring to BMC, then controlled by the undivided Shiv Sena, closing some Marathi schools for want of students and starting an IB school. The issue of 'imposition' of Hindi should have ended after the govt withdrew the GRs making Hindi "mandatory" from Class 1, he said. The Mashelkar committee, which recommended a three-language formula with mandatory Hindi and English, had been formed by the Thackeray-led MVA govt, and it had accepted the report on Jan 27, 2022, Shinde said.
