41 Affordable Alternatives To Name-Brand Items
E.l.f's Glow Reviver Lip Balm, which many people are comparing to the oh-so-popular Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm. You'll get that same iconic soft silicone applicator, and it'll leave your lips feeling hydrated and glossy.
A double-pouch wristlet wallet that looks like it could be sold at Lululemon because of how similar it is to their version (which is $48). Save your hard-earned money and get this affordable alternative instead to conveniently hold your cash, car keys, and whatever else you need to bring on the go.
A Simple Modern tumbler so you can enjoy some cold, crisp water without worrying about leaks, thanks to its airtight cap that seals when you're not using the straw. Plus, you can just order this online, and you won't have to fight everyone and their mom when Stanley tumblers get released at Target.
Slip-on Cushionaire cork sandals for those of you who have been putting off buying Birkenstocks and 👏🏼 will continue to do so 👏🏼 because these are sooo similar. You get the same cushiony feel and great support.
A Briotech spray that's got the same main ingredient as the popular Tower 28 SOS Daily Rescue Spray — hypochlorous acid. It'll help soothe redness and inflammation and can even be beneficial for healing piercings.
A pair of squoval polarized sunglasses, because you know that it doesn't take a pair of designer shades to make it look like you're cooler than everyone else. You're cooler because you just saved yourself from spending a Benjamin Franklin plus some on Ray-Ban sunnies.
A classy shoulder bag that could make you think, "Wait, am I being punk'd?" since this is a super affordable version of the almost $400 Coach Swing Bag. Plus, it even comes with the iconic Coach Cherry Charm that is $95 alone!
A pair of statement teardrop earrings, a fashion-forward twist on the classic hoop. Contrary to how chunky they look, reviewers say they are lightweight and a comfortable staple to their earring collection. Bottega Veneta, who??
A tote bag perfect for the office because it can hold your laptop, snacks, and water bottle, all while looking exactly like the Longchamp Le Pliage tote. She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment because she's only $27!
A sunrise alarm clock because you're very funny if you think I'm spending $150+ on the Hatch to be woken up. 30 minutes before your set wake-up time, this gradually changes from a red all the way to a bright white to naturally wake you up. Now I'm not a morning person, but this seems like a pretty peaceful way to be woken up.
The Gym People's pullover fleece sweatshirt you'll never want to take off because of how soft the fabric is. You can throw it on over your cute pilates set or pair it with some jeans on your rest days. Plus, it even has thumb holes, just like the Lululemon version!
A chic laptop tote bag so you can be in the business of slaying *and* saving money because this one is BÉISically like the Béis tote but for $90 cheaper. Reviewers love how much you can fit into this bag, and even better, it has SO MANY POCKETS!
A pair of high-waisted yoga pants because we all probably wish we could have a field day at Lulu, but our wallets aren't on board with that idea. These have a seamless waistband and even have pockets on the side!
Or a pair of popular cross-waist leggings with just a little more *flare* than your regular old straight-banded yoga pants. These are the perfect blend of comfort and cute for any outing and look just like the Aerie ones for way less.
A super plush blanket that many have compared to the likes of Barefoot Dreams since it's got that cozy softness, just minus the hefty price tag. You will love cuddling up to this on the couch or keeping it at the foot of your bed!
A cubic zirconia cuff because, tbh, having a Cartier bracelet that is over $17,000 on your wrist is just a little out of your budget.... who am I kidding... it's about $16,986 out of your budget. But $13? That's more like it.
A belt bag that's basically a Lululemon look-a-like, but for way cheaper. This has tons of storage and can be worn crossbody or fanny pack style. It's easy to grab when you're heading out for a quick errand and great to pack for a weekend trip where you won't want to be lugging around a heavy purse.
A bodycon jumpsuit if you love keeping up with the trends, but your wallet... not so much. This looks *and* feels just like the Aritzia "Butter" jumpsuit but for a fraction of the price!
A faux-leather bag featuring magnetic closures that make it extra wide to fit all of the day's necessities and more. Reviewers rave about how this looks just like the Polène Cyme bag. It's big enough to fit a water bottle and an iPad and even comes with a small zipper pouch for your smaller items that always get lost at the bottom of your purse.
A scoop-neck top for less than half the price of the Skims version, while still feeling buttery soft. Miss Kimberly.... not even your 15% off the first order coupon will get me to choose your top over this one. Sorry, not sorry.
A pair of slip-on loafer mules that are soooo close to the Gucci ones but thankfully far from that hefty price tag. These are easy to slide into and add a touch of sophistication to your look.
A Smeg-like, but not Smeg-priced electric kettle featuring a thermometer to get the water to the exact right temperature for your extra hot pour-over coffee or your soothing cup of tea. It also has an automatic shutoff!
A midi corset dress — a gift sent down from the cottagecore gods because you ALMOST bought the House of CB "Carmen" dress that's a whopping $225, but thankfully you saw this post before you checked out. It's even got the back cinch and the front tie just like the original.
A pair of Steve Madden H strap sandals perfect for a trip to Europe or if you just want to switch out the plain thong flip flops for a more sophisticated look. You'll be sure to shock everyone when you tell them they aren't Hermès. (Gasp!)
A pair of super relaxed straight-leg workout pants that look quuiitteeee similar to the Lululemon Dance Studio Pants that everyone and their mom L.O.V.E. These have a drawstring waistband, extra inner pockets, and are sooo breathable!
A set of internet-famous Mellanni sheets reviewers compare to the expensive brands like Brooklinen and Pottery Barn. These are super soft and made from moisture-wicking microfiber fabric for all you hot sleepers. Just take a look at the 250,000 5-star reviews if you need more convincing.
E.l.f.'s Hydrating Core Lip Shine because, believe it or not, you don't need to spend more than an Erewhon smoothie for that viral lip color everyone and their mom is talking about. This "Ecstatic" shade looks just like Clinique's Almost Lipstick in "Black Honey" just at a more affordable price!
A pair of wide-leg jeans reviewers love because of the button detailing and the unique front pockets. These look pretty similar to ones you'd find on the racks at Anthropologie, but MINUS the triple-digit price tag!
E.l.f. Power Grip Primer, which could be #TWINNING with the Milk Makeup Hyrdro Grip Primer (but it's the cooler, cheaper sibling 😉). This is infused with hyaluronic acid, so not only does it moisturize your skin, but it also acts as a perfect base for your makeup and keeps it in place all day and night.
Long-lasting Peripera Ink Velvet Lip Tint that reviewers compare to the likes of Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution and YSL's Velvet Cream. It'll give you a beautiful pop of color and have your lips feeling hydrated thanks to the blend of vitamin E oil and green tea oil.
A pack of two Venus Visage teeth whitening pens so you can show off those bright pearly whites when you tell your friends you saved a bunch of money not getting professional teeth whitening or using those wasteful Crest Whitestrips. Plus, this doesn't give you that slimy, weird aftertaste like most whitening strips.
A faux pearl choker that'll get people to ask you, "Is that Vivienne Westwood?" pretty much every time you accessorize with this beauty of a necklace. It's so chic and so much cheaper than the original.
Nyx Fat Oil Lip Drip made with hydrating raspberry seed oil and vegan squalene to moisturize your lips and add a sheer shine. You can try all you want to justify that $40 Dior Lip Oil, but you *and* your wallet will be much better off getting this one for less than $10.
A rainbow-inspired eyeshadow palette so versatile that you might not even need to think about getting another (more expensive) one from Sephora or Ulta since this has matte, shimmer, AND metallic shades. You'll never know when you need a bright green shadow, but at least, you know this has it.
Maybelline's Cheek Heat gel-cream blush that's a great swap for Glossier Cloud Paint in case the $22 a tube is making you want to ration product for the next three years. This water-based formula is super buildable, so it'll be great for natural and glam looks.
L'Oreal's illuminating Lumi Glotion you can use as a luminous base under your other makeup products, or use on those no-makeup days where you just want a natural glow. This has glycerin and shea butter for extra moisture, and reviewers even say this is better than the Saie Glowy Super Gel and the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi drops!
A TruSkin Vitamin C Serum that will help reduce wrinkles, even out dark spots, and brighten up your skin. The hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, witch hazel, and jojoba oil work wonders to help your skin look better AND brighter each day. Reviewers say this works just as well as the SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, which is $182!
A satin pillowcase to give you a splendid sleep experience that's better for your hair and skin — satin creates less friction and doesn't absorb moisture. These are so silky smooth that you'll want to enjoy this luxury — quietly, in bed, and asleep. Slip and Blissy who??
A faux-leather shoulder bag because the TikTok girlies have all agreed the Coach Brooklyn Bag is a must-have in your bag collection, but with that nearly $300 price tag... YIKES and no thanks. This, on the other hand, is much more reasonable and it looks quiiiiiite similar.
A set of chic cylindrical wineglasses — great if you want a change from the traditional wineglass but are on a strict budget. Cheers to saving money by not getting the more expensive Crate & Barrel version!
A personalized hairbrush if you deeply care about everything in your life being just as aesthetic as you are. You can customize it with your name or initials, and it looks just like the custom ones you can get from Emi Jay that are.... wait for it... $134. 😳
You after you figured out that you DON'T need to spend all your money on the name brand stuff:

9 Best Gym Bags for Workouts On the Go
Carving out time to work out just might be one of the greatest challenges of traveling. But when it comes to logistics, having the right gym bag just might be the jumpstart needed for a dose of motivation. Whether you prefer a tote, a duffel, or a crossbody bag to hold your workout essentials, there's a wide range of lightweight, packable options to choose from. Some of our top picks are convertible and even double as carry-ons, personal items, or weekender bags, making them ideal for travelers. The best gym bags have thoughtful features, like a water bottle pocket, a separate compartment for post-workout clothes and shoes, and zippered pockets to keep small items easy to reach on the go. Many also have luggage sleeves so you can easily sit them up on top of your suitcase, while several have straps or compartments to tote around yoga mats or pickleball paddles. To find our favorites, we prioritized durability, giving preference to those made of recycled materials, as well as comfort, whether it's padded straps or reinforced handles. 28 Comfy Shoes Ready For All Of Your Travels
A handmade pair of closed-toe huarache platform sandals if you need some extra height (those flowy pants you just bought are a little on the long side), but also refuse to commit to walking around in heels all day. These beauts are the perfect compromise! A pair of Birkenstocks, aka the go-to summer vacation sandal. Reviewers rave about their signature cork footbed and for good reason — it molds to the foot for unrivaled comfort and support. A pair of Dr. Scholl's kicks so you can ditch the laces while still enjoying the benefits of supportive and comfy sneakers. Did I mention these have memory foam cushioning? Because they do, and you will love it. A classic pair of ballet flats since these darling little shoes fold up nice and compact for easy packing — and good thing, too, because you've only got about an inch of space left in your suitcase! Or, these memory foam-cushioned knit flats that are just as convenient (and comfy!) but offer a more elevated look with their textured design. Promising reviews: "These shoes are so comfortable. I used them on a trip where I did a lot of walking, and there was no need to break them in, and I had no blisters. I have not had to clean them yet, so don't know how they will wash up." —Charlotte"I wore these, new, on a recent trip and couldn't have been more pleased with the fit and comfort. Added bonus, you can toss them in the wash and they come out great!" —Amazon CustomerGet them from Amazon for $29.80+ (available in sizes 5–11, wide sizes, and in five colors). They look so darn cute, are unbelievably comfy, and best of all, can handle miles and miles of walking (even if I decide to stroll through the waves a bit). I've brought these on hiking/camping trips, but also on city vacations, too. I love knowing I can tackle any sort of terrain I might stumble upon in my adventures, even though they don't really look like your typical "hiking sandals."Promising review: "I bought these sandals about a month before I went on vacation. I walked around in them all day in very hot temperatures (38–40 degrees Celsius) with my feet sweating and swelling, and did not get any blisters or hot spots. I thought for sure they would start to smell, but they didn't! I read reviews of others not liking the ankle strap not being adjustable, but I did not have any issues. I definitely would not go hiking in these sandals, but they are great for everyday casual wear and are super cute. I love the wide-toe box for my problem feet. I will definitely be buying more pairs in different colors. These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever bought! I did have some rubbing on my big toe from the toe box material, but I got used to it quickly with no issues." —Ldc8Get them from Keen for $120 (available in sizes 5–12 and six colors — not all styles available in all sizes). A lightweight mesh sneaker if you (or your S.O.) want to look ~sharp~ without having to sweat away in stiff, uncomfy dress shoes. In the words of one reviewer, they're "absurdly comfortably" while offering a business-casual kinda vibe. My boyfriend has these in black, and the first thing he commented on was how light and breathable they are. He's definitely a comfort first, style second kind of person, but he doesn't have to compromise anymore, thanks to these. They're pretty much his new go-to shoe when we're heading downtown or out on a date (and he always looks so good in them). Promising review: "I love them, I originally bought a pair for a vacation where I needed something business casual and comfortable for walking… I wore them on my first day back to the office (left my $750 pair of Ferragamo's at the office). I intended to throw on the expensive pair… I got more compliments on these than I have for a high-end shoe + they're way more comfortable!" —Bobby DGet them from Amazon for $36.54+ (available in men's sizes 6.5–14 and 14 colors) A beautiful pair of Greek gladiator-inspired sandals so you can feel like a real Mediterranean local as you navigate the streets and local seaside markets. They proved to be some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. We toured English stately homes and gardens and walked everywhere we went, and these shoes gave me great support and comfort. Promising review: "These shoes are amazing. I have plantar fasciitis, and by the end of the day, my feet are in a lot of pain. I can now stand and walk with no pain wearing these shoes. They appear to be cheap, but whatever material these are made of is more comfortable than Crocs! I bought the grey and loved them, so I bought another pair in brown. I'm going to take them with me on vacation because I know I can walk long distances with them. My feet do not sweat in them either!" —GGet them from Amazon for $23.98+ (available in sizes 5.5–17W, 4–16M, and 29 colors). Walked a lot and they were surprisingly very comfortable, too." —Its meGet them from Amazon for $33.99+ (available in sizes 5.5–11, in four colors in the high-top style, and in five other styles). Braided Plaka sandals that combine functionality with a breezy boho aesthetic, aka the perfect combo for oceanside strolls. The straps fit snugly around the foot without rubbing or pinching while the rubber soles are durable enough for sand, beach rocks, and other rough terrain. The famous Allbirds runner — uber soft and supportive everyday sneakers made from lightweight and breathable eucalyptus fibers, which means they're 100% up to the task of keeping you cool and comfy as you explore the world. Promising review: "Love these shoes!! So comfortable and look great. Wore them as all-day shoes at Disneyland, no blisters or other issues. I am already looking at other pairs to buy. Also great for traveling, extremely lightweight." —Michaela them from Allbirds for $98 (available in sizes 5–11W, 8–14M, and 21 colors). Elastic-strap sandals since the twisted strap is not only super cute but also super stretchy, which means the sandal conforms perfectly to your foot for a secure, comfy fit. A pair of Cole Haan leather sneakers because they're a sleek, lightweight shoe that can be dressed up or down. Pretty much a no-brainer for vacation. Promising review: "This is the third pair I have bought for my husband (navy, tan, and black). We travel a lot and he always takes a pair for daily wear and loads of walking. He says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever had, and frankly, they are so great looking, you can wear them anywhere. In Europe, many men wear shoes of this style with their suits, and they look so sharp. These are so versatile, go with anything, and have a super-high comfort level. Catch them when they are on special!" —vieuxcarreGet them from Amazon for $65.19+ (available in men's sizes 7–13, two widths, and in 11 styles). A super cute strappy sandal for something that's stylish *and* supportive — both non negotiable for your big summer trip. These have a thick, cushioned footbed that's similar to Birks, only much cheaper. A pair of platform, lace-up Oxfords so you can trick all the locals into thinking you're actually overseas for an important academic conference... are you a Rhodes scholar or genius mathematician? They'll never know! A pair of combat boots if your personal style is best described as pop-punk. These are just the edgy-chic traveling companion you've been waiting for. Promising review: "I am in love with these boots! First, they are great-looking. I've worn them 10 times in the past two and a half weeks and received compliments five times. They look amazing with leggings, maxi dresses, and short skirts. The ankle doesn't gap and is adjustable with laces, but they actually open by way of a zipper on the inside ankle. So, once you get them fitted to your arch and ankle, putting them on and taking them off is easy. I know as I had to remove them for TSA at two airports. I've worn them in rain, slushy snow, sub-freezing temps, and 70-degree weather. So far, with a wipe of a cloth, they still look brand new. No scuffs and no cracks. Yesterday, I took them off after 31 hours of travel, involving a number of airports and lots of walking, and they still felt good." —AliceGet them from Amazon for $39.99+ (available in sizes 5.5–10 and in four colors). Or Dr. Marten gladiator sandals so you can rock those spunky pop-punk vibes without your feet overheating. These are definitely the summertime equivalent of your fave combat boots, offering a similar aesthetic in a more breathable and lighter open-foot design. A classic pair of slip-on sneaks made from a breathable and stretchy canvas material, which means your feet will sweat less and probably won't rub too much either... the two things that tend to cause blisters.

The Best Sweatpants for Comfort and Style
When I hop into sweatpants, I want to feel like I'm on cloud nine, and both of these sweatpants from Canada-based Roots deliver exactly that sensation (mind you, the pants are made in Cambodia). The reason for that is the brushed fleece on the inside, which is super soft against the skin. The Roots Athletics Sweatpant (64 percent organic cotton, 36 percent recycled polyester fleece) is the more traditional design, with a classic fit that extends down close to my ankles on my 6'4" frame. But I like the Cloud Straight Leg even more. No skin-tight pants here! These are airy, whimsical, and tremendously soft. Made from 80 percent organic cotton and 20 percent recycled polyester fleece, the pants are smooth but plush. They do get a bit warm for the shoulder seasons and summer, but out of the many sweatpants I've tested, I'm happiest with these. — Julian Chokkattu Available Sizes XS to XXL Available Colors Athletics Sweatpant: 2. Cloud Straight Leg: 80% organic cotton, 20% recycled polyester fleece Photograph: Louryn Strampe Photograph: Louryn Strampe If millennials are known for skinny jeans, Gen Z is known for the exact opposite of that. Think big, interesting silhouettes, varying waist heights, and different colors and washes. These trendy Lululemon cargos were a bit out of my early-thirties comfort zone. But they're awesome. They've got a mid-rise fit that shows off just the right amount of tummy if you pair them with a crop top, and they're roomy throughout the hips and thighs. The two-way stretch fabric is water-repellent and slightly ribbed, with a lightweight feel that's perfect for summer (or sweating in a dance studio, presumably.) There are pockets galore, including hand pockets with a hidden card sleeve, back pockets, and cargo pockets. All of these pockets are useful, and my phone has yet to fall out of any of them. The waist has a drawstring, and the hems are cinchable to let you adjust how tight they are—a feature I appreciate as a shortie, since I can cinch them up if I don't want them to drag on the ground. These pants run just a little big, and my only complaint is that the hand pockets tend to stick out a bit. (My younger sisters assure me that they look all right, but it still bugs me just a little.) Ultimately, though, I feel super cool when I wear these pants, both temperature- and style-wise. — Louryn Strampe Available Sizes XXXS to XL Available Colors 7 Fabric Details Waistband: 88% nylon, 12% Lycra elastane.
