It means the squad doesn't actually need Guehi right now - Liverpool would just like to have him early. A week ago, Palace knew they could hold firm on their fee and Liverpool may be forced to pay it in order to avoid heading into the upcoming season with only three centre-backs. We've seen that story before, after all, and it ends horrendously. But now Liverpool are likely fine with waiting on Guehi. They've got four centre-backs and now it's Palace who are the most eager to get a deal done. The Burkinabè winger has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with an option for an additional season. The transfer was sealed in the Premier League on Saturday, August 16, 2025, for a record-breaking fee in the history of the London club. Dango Ouattara becomes the most expensive signing in Brentford's history and also sets a new record for a Burkinabè player. The English club accelerated negotiations following Bryan Mbeumo's departure to Manchester United. The 23-year-old's profile won over the management, who decided to bet on his attacking versatility and his experience in English football. As a result, the Bees secured Dango Ouattara's transfer for a record fee of €50 million, marking their biggest investment to date. The Stallions international joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from Lorient and had been playing on England's south coast for two and a half seasons.
