'Saiyaara', the Mohit Suri-directed romantic drama, has delivered a historic opening weekend at the Indian box office, collecting over Rs 80 crore (India net) over its first three days.
Featuring newcomers
Ahaan Panday
and
Aneet Padda
in lead roles, the film has defied expectations and emerged not only as a standout success in 2025, but has also set a new benchmark for collections by films starring debutante actors.
Box Office Performance
The film, which marks the big-screen debut of Ahaan alongside Aneet, beat all expectations and early box office predictions to score this impressive feat. According to reports on sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 21 crore on day 1 and saw good growth at the box office on day 2, earning an estimated Rs 25 crore.
The film then went on to score its highest collection at the ticket windows on Sunday, earning an estimated Rs 37 crore, according to early estimates.
Sunday's collection helped the film earn a total collection of Rs 83 crore India net.
Highest Earning Films Of 2025
According to box office reports, the film has surpassed all predictions to take its place among the highest-earning Bollywood films of 2025. 'Saiyaara' not only outperformed Suri's previous opening records like 'Ek Villain' which earned Rs 16 crore and 'Aashiqui 2', which earned Rs 6.1 crore, but also positioned itself among the top 5 highest opening weekends of 2025. It is now trailing behind only big-ticket films like,
Vicky Kaushal
's 'Chhaava' which earned Rs 121.43 crore, 'Housefull 5' which has an estimated net total of Rs 91.83 crore and 'Sikandar' which earned Rs 86.44 crore net.
Occupancy Rate
Saiyaara recorded an overall 71.18% Hindi occupancy on Sunday in Hindi-speaking regions. The film performed particularly well during its evening shots, with the highest footfalls recorded to be around 79.32% and 88.15%.
Trade analysts are crediting the film's success to a combination of fresh casting, music, and Suri's emotional storytelling, which seems to have struck a chord with younger audiences. This impressive Rs 80+ crore debut for Panday, comes at a time when several other star kids, the latest being
Shanaya Kapoor
, failed to rake in even Rs 2 crore at the box office in the first week of the release of her debut film 'Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan'.
Director Suri credits the film's authenticity and emotional truth. In interviews, he's spoken candidly about his desire to push past the rose-tinted portrayal of romance in Bollywood:
'In love, there will be pain… If love is not real, it's not felt. I believe in it more than I fantasise about it,' he told PTI.
Bollywood vs Hollywood
'Saiyaara' has also beaten the likes of Hollywood films like 'Superman' and 'Jurassic World Rebirth'. The new release has comfortably shot past the collections of James Gunn's Superman, and is just a few crore shy of beating the Scarlett Johansson starrer dino film, which has a two-week total collection of Rs 86.6 crore.
This film is expected to continue its upward trend at the box office and record a strong opening weekend. All eyes will now turn to Monday's numbers to see if the film can maintain its momentum and set a new box office record.

Saiyaara Actor Aneet Padda Oozes Glam In Strappy Top, Glossy Lips

Last Updated: Aneet Padda, star of Saiyaara, is gaining attention for her chemistry with Ahaan Panday. She posted a cute selfie wearing a yellow strappy top. Saiyaara star Aneet Padda is everyone's latest crush in town. The actor's girl-next-door looks and her steamy chemistry with Krish Kapoor, aka Ahaan Panday, have been making headlines ever since the film's release. On Monday, Aneet posted an adorable selfie wearing a strappy top, oozing glam goals. Aneet Padda was seen wearing a yellow strappy top, which she amplified with blushed cheeks and glossy lips. With hair falling on her shoulder, the actor stared right onto the camera frame. Take a look at her photo here: While Saiyaara marks Ahaan Panday's first-ever tryst with acting, Aneet Padda already had a foot in the door with ad films and projects like Big Girls Don't Cry and Revathy's Salaam Venky, where she acted alongside Kajol and Aamir Khan. Recently, in a viral snippet from her chat with Mid-Day, Aneet spoke about bizarre experiments she tried at school – including one when she shaved both her eyebrows and plucked her eyelashes. She said, 'I don't know if it's a school memory exactly, but I remember this one time we had our annual theatre going on. And for some weird reason, when I came back home and had to remove all of my makeup, I decided to also shave both of my eyebrows and pluck like eight of my eyelashes. Then my mother comes home and she's like, 'Beta, what am I going to do with you? You have to go to school tomorrow.' And I'm like, 'I don't know, maybe it's trendy.' And ten years later, people are actually shaving their eyebrows now, so maybe I was onto something back then." Meanwhile, Saiyaara broke records by earning Rs 21.25 crore on Day 1. The film has outperformed the first day collections of Murder 2 (Rs 6.95 crore), Aashiqui 2 (Rs 6.10 crore), and Half Girlfriend (Rs 10.30 crore). The film has also surpassed the the collections of Ek Villain (2014), which collected Rs 16 crore on its opening day, by becoming Mohit Suri's biggest opener ever. From 2225 screens in week one, Saiyaara is now running in packed 3650 screens. The film has crossed Rs 300 crore on the global box office. Saiyaara is backed by YRF and directed by Mohit Suri. The film released on July 18, sans much promotions. First Published: July 28, 2025, 20:06 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. ‘Saiyaara' crosses Rs 350 crore at the worldwide box office, the Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda movie is the highest Hindi grosser in UK in 2024-2025

'Saiyaara' which released in cinemas worldwide on July 18 has left everyone surprised with its phenomenal box office run, not just in India but globally. The film directed by Mohit Suri , stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda . While this is Ahaan's debut movie, Aneet was seen in many commercials and Kajol starrer 'Salaam Venky' earlier, but 'Saiyaara' is clearly her breakthrough. The film has crossed Rs 250 crore at the domestic box office on Monday, which is day 11. This is huge for a film with newcomers. It has surpassed the numbers of many big movies like Salman Khan's 'Sikandar' in no time. It has also surpassed the collection of 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. And now, it is turning out to be a marvel even overseas. It pulled off a phenomenal second weekend with collections soaring to $3.85 million—nearly double its opening weekend take. With a 10-day overseas total of $8.9 million, the film is all set to become the highest overseas grosser of 2025, and it's achieved this milestone in under two weeks, according to trade website Box Office India. In Australia, the film had a modest start, opening with just A$25,000 on day one. But it quickly picked up steam and has now crossed the A$900,000 mark. Hitting the A$1 million milestone is now just a matter of time. Meanwhile, in the UK, Saiyaara has broken past the £1 million mark—a significant feat, especially for a film without a major star cast. It now joins the exclusive club of Hindi films like Pushpa 2, Fighter, and Stree 2 that have managed this benchmark across 2024 and 2025. In fact, it's poised to be the biggest Hindi hit in the UK for this period. The Gulf region continues to be Saiyaara's strongest market, where it's raked in nearly $3 million so far. It's closing in on Eid release Sikandar's $3.4 million record and is well on track to surpass $4 million there. Globally, the film has already crossed ₹375 crore in just 10 days, and with this momentum. It collected Rs 299 crore gross in India (More than Rs 250crore net) and overseas the collection is now 76.50 crore ($8.9 million). Thus, the total worldwide gross now stands at more than Rs 375 crore.
