‘Saiyaara' box office collection Day 3: Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer records historic Rs 83 crore debut weekend; among highest-earning Bollywood films of 2025
Featuring newcomers
Ahaan Panday
and
Aneet Padda
in lead roles, the film has defied expectations and emerged not only as a standout success in 2025, but has also set a new benchmark for collections by films starring debutante actors.
Box Office Performance
The film, which marks the big-screen debut of Ahaan alongside Aneet, beat all expectations and early box office predictions to score this impressive feat. According to reports on sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 21 crore on day 1 and saw good growth at the box office on day 2, earning an estimated Rs 25 crore.
The film then went on to score its highest collection at the ticket windows on Sunday, earning an estimated Rs 37 crore, according to early estimates.
Sunday's collection helped the film earn a total collection of Rs 83 crore India net.
Highest Earning Films Of 2025
According to box office reports, the film has surpassed all predictions to take its place among the highest-earning Bollywood films of 2025. 'Saiyaara' not only outperformed Suri's previous opening records like 'Ek Villain' which earned Rs 16 crore and 'Aashiqui 2', which earned Rs 6.1 crore, but also positioned itself among the top 5 highest opening weekends of 2025. It is now trailing behind only big-ticket films like,
Vicky Kaushal
's 'Chhaava' which earned Rs 121.43 crore, 'Housefull 5' which has an estimated net total of Rs 91.83 crore and 'Sikandar' which earned Rs 86.44 crore net.
Occupancy Rate
Saiyaara recorded an overall 71.18% Hindi occupancy on Sunday in Hindi-speaking regions. The film performed particularly well during its evening shots, with the highest footfalls recorded to be around 79.32% and 88.15%.
Trade analysts are crediting the film's success to a combination of fresh casting, music, and Suri's emotional storytelling, which seems to have struck a chord with younger audiences. This impressive Rs 80+ crore debut for Panday, comes at a time when several other star kids, the latest being
Shanaya Kapoor
, failed to rake in even Rs 2 crore at the box office in the first week of the release of her debut film 'Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan'.
Director Suri credits the film's authenticity and emotional truth. In interviews, he's spoken candidly about his desire to push past the rose-tinted portrayal of romance in Bollywood:
'In love, there will be pain… If love is not real, it's not felt. I believe in it more than I fantasise about it,' he told PTI.
Bollywood vs Hollywood
'Saiyaara' has also beaten the likes of Hollywood films like 'Superman' and 'Jurassic World Rebirth'. The new release has comfortably shot past the collections of James Gunn's Superman, and is just a few crore shy of beating the Scarlett Johansson starrer dino film, which has a two-week total collection of Rs 86.6 crore.
This film is expected to continue its upward trend at the box office and record a strong opening weekend. All eyes will now turn to Monday's numbers to see if the film can maintain its momentum and set a new box office record.

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 8: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's movie is now inches away from ₹200 crore milestone
Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 8: After an exceptional first week, Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, has continued its dream run with a rock-steady hold at the Indian box office for week 2 on Friday. With an opening week collection of ₹ 172.75 crore, the Mohit Suri directorial is the second-highest Week 1 grosser of the year, only behind Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava. 'No one – not even in their wildest dreams – could have imagined Saiyaara shaking the industry with its phenomenal numbers, day after day,' said film trade analyst Taran Adarsh for the 'epic blockbuster'. In mere eight days at the theatres, Saiyaara is now just inches away from achieving the ₹ 200 crore milestone, which several Bollywood biggies like Sitaare Zameen Par couldn't achieve in over a month on the big screen. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara witnessed a minimal (5.26%) drop from its Thursday earnings on Friday. However, showing a 'remarkable consistency,' the movie was able to mint ₹ 18 crore on Day 8 as it is headed towards its second weekend. The movie is expected to drop just 15–20%, which is still a remarkable hold. With this, Saiyaara has earned a total of ₹ 190.75 crore in 8 days. The movie is set to cross the ₹ 200 crore milestone on Saturday, Day 9. With little to no competition at the Hindi box office, Sacnilk estimated that Saiyaara's second weekend collection will be in the range of ₹ 70 crore net, which would be a record for a romantic drama and one of the biggest second weekends ever. If the momentum holds, there is a chance of Saiyaara touching the ₹ 250 crore mark by the end of its second weekend, a monumental benchmark for a movie led by fresh faces. This dream run is expected to continue for Saiyaara till at least August 1, before the release of Dhadak 2. On Day 7, Saiyaara collected ₹ 250.5 crore globally, of which it earned ₹ 43.5 overseas. Its gross collection in India stands at ₹ 207 crore. Saiyaara is a romance-drama about Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a budding musician, and Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda), a shy writer. Through their relationship, the film explores love, loss, and drama.

I long for meaningful roles: Mandira Bedi
Mandira Bedi recounts her cricket hosting days and how she is looking for more interesting roles Mandira Bedi , who broke ground as one of the first women to host cricket on Indian television, admits she still feels a sense of nostalgia when she reminisces about those days, but she has made peace with the shift in her career. 'When the telecast rights moved to another channel, I was not associated with it. I felt sad but then had to move on. Honestly, I believe that everything happens for a reason and then your path shifts to another space. Being 31 years in the business, I've done so many different things throughout my career. I look at the variability of it all and I'm nothing but grateful.' When asked if she would like to return to hosting cricket, she says, 'If it means keeping me away from my kids for 15–20 days at a stretch, then I can't do that. I would have to get my mom to fly down to Mumbai. I would have to make major adjustments. Right now, work is making me travel for a few days here and there. I work 12–14 days a month, and that keeps me in a good place because I'm a very hands-on mom.' Mandira who was last seen in the web show, The Railway Men (2023), says that acting is something that she is still passionate about. 'What I do miss is acting, it is still close to my heart,' she says, adding, 'Working on The Railway Men reminded me of how alive I feel in front of the camera. In recent times, I got offers to play a cricket presenter or news anchor, but that's not what I'm looking for. I'm an actor at heart, and I long for meaningful roles. '

ETimes rated the film with a solid 4 stars out of 5 and a an excerpt from our review reads, "Amidst all the noise and gags, though, Thalaivan Thalaivi finds moments of quiet, moving emotions. In one scene, Aagasam, tired of all the fights, breaks down in front of his father. In another, a mother posts a WhatsApp status of her child, hoping her estranged husband sees it. When someone sees the family fight for a whole day, they say, 'Inum ivanga mudikalaya,' and you feel that too. However, Thalaivan Thalaivi becomes one of the very few Tamil films that dig into the life after marriage, something after the beginning of the seemingly 'Happily ever after,' and Pandiraj has crafted a fun, frustrating family padam."
