The Toronto Maple Leafs had a chance to reach the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in nearly a quarter-century, but instead collapsed in Sunday's Game 7 against the Florida Panthers.
The Leafs gave up three second-period goals to fall behind 3-0, cutting into the lead briefly in the third period after a goal by Max Domi before giving up another three to lose 6-1.

Leafs fans in attendance at Scotiabank Arena on Toronto did not take the blowout loss well, showering the team with boos and some throwing objects onto the ice. The behavior led to some criticism from fans and reporters.
"A fan threw a beer at the Leafs on the bench. Marner had to sidestep a thrown jersey before skating to the bench on his final shift as he was getting booed," noted Sportsnet reporter Luke Fox in a post on X. "This. Is. Ugly."
Others called out the fans for leaving en masse as the game turned into a blowout in the third period.
"So many empty seats," one person commented on X. "I get it, your team is losing and it sucks, but other fanbases stick with their teams to the end. Even worse, these cry-baby fans are booing every time Leafs touch the puck."

"Leafs fans are up there with worst fans in sports," wrote another. "Throwing jerseys on the ice and spreading so much negativity won't get this team anywhere. There's time to boo your team when they are performing but that group didn't deserve to get boo'd. Took a [expletive] good Florida team to 7"
The Leafs fans who stuck around to the end didn't give the team much mercy. Leafs players were met with loud boos when they gathered at center ice after the game to salute fans for their support.

USA's Blake Zielinski ‘Did a T.J. Oshie Move' In The Shootout

In the semifinals of the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, the USA's Blake Zielinski assisted on Noah Davidson's first-period power-play goal and then scored a PP marker of his own in the last minute of the second to give the USA a 3-1 lead. The Canadians came back to tie it in the third, but Zielinski was one of three Americans to score in the shootout. 'I just did a T.J. Oshie move,' he smiled. 'Came in wide, went to the backhand, back to the forehand, tucked it five-hole and ended up scoring there. It was a pretty great feeling.' Zielinski, who played last season for the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers and has already committed to Providence College starting in 2027-28, entered the game with a team-leading six points. Two more today gives him eight, which puts him second in tournament scoring behind Sweden's Marcus Nordmark. 'Just shooting the puck, playing hard, keeping it to our systems,' he explained. 'I've gotta give a lot of credit to the guys I'm playing with too,' he said about linemates Jack Hextall and Noah Davidson. 'I wouldn't be here without them and we've just gotta keep it going.' Sweden's Marcus Nordmark: 'I Love To Score And I Love To Compete' With two games played by each team at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, the tournament's leading scorer is Swedish right winger Marcus Nordmark with six points.

Blue Jays expected to sign top Korean prospect to 7-figure contract

Blue Jays expected to sign top Korean prospect to 7-figure contract originally appeared on The Sporting News The Toronto Blue Jays are on the verge of making a splash in the international market. It's the kind of forward-thinking move that can set the Blue Jays up for success many years down the road. According to Korean baseball insider Daniel Kim, the Blue Jays are "expected to sign" the top high school baseball prospect in Korea. His name: Seo-jun Moon. Moon is a senior at Jang-choong High School. He's listed at 6-foot-5 and is a right-handed pitcher. Moon's fastball is reported to be thrown in the mid-90s. Kim reports that the signing bonus for Moon is "expected to be more than ($1 million)." Here's a look at Moon on the mound: The Blue Jays have had a couple of notable Korean players in their history. The most prominent was lefty starter Hyun-jin Ryu. he pitched for the Blue Jays from 2020 to 2023 after signing for Toronto as a big-name free agent in 2020. Before that, the Blue Jays had relief pitcher Seung-hwan Oh on their roster, although he had previously made more of an impact with the St. Louis Cardinals. It's rare that Korean high schoolers sign at this stage rather than first playing in the KBO, so this is a special opportunity for the Blue Jays to get in on the ground floor of Moon's development. They'll have a chance to grow a pitching star in Toronto. MORE: The Blue Jays have the best method for determining their fantasy football draft order
