Before this, Murugadoss wrote the story for Sivakarthikeyan's 2014 sports-comedy 'Maan Karate', but he didn't direct it. This new film marks the first time they are working together as actor and director.
Production and Technical Team
The movie is produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies and features a skilled technical team including cinematographer Sudeep Elamon, editor A Sreekar Prasad, and music composer Anirudh. While the storyline has not been revealed yet, the film will be released in Tamil as well as Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, with the Hindi version titled 'Dil Madharaasi'.

'ID: The Fake' OTT release: Find out where to watch Dhyan Sreenivasan's Malayalam thriller online

The film will begin streaming online, more than six months after its theatrical release on January 3, 2025. OTT release details The movie will be streaming on Saina Play. While the official streaming date is yet to be announced, the platform confirmed the update via its social media handles. The movie will be available in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The post was shared with a note that read, "Get ready for this!!!. ID: The Fake is streaming soon only on Saina Play. Releasing in Malayalam | Tamil | Telugu." The Cybercrime Plot The film written and directed by Arun Sivavilasam, is set around a murky, twisted realm of cybercrime, identity theft, and digital trauma. It tells the story of Vinod, a humble food delivery driver who is about to become a father. He delivers food for his neighbour's restaurant to help pay bills, but he is blindsided when he discovers an undressed photo of his wife making its way around the internet. Vinod is unable to deal with the feelings of betrayal and chaos. He starts to become aloof and distant from his wife, who is barely aware of the cause of the dramatic shift in his behaviour. What follows in the story is a desperate attempt by Vinod, played by Dhyan Sreenivasan, to identify the source of the image and the ugly truths behind it. The film has a good ensemble cast with Dhyan Sreenivasan at the front and centre, and Divya Pillai, Johny Antony, Kalabhavan Shajon, Indrans, and Jasnya Jayadeesh in supporting roles. The film has music composed by Nihal Sadiq.
