A surprising new project from Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid's wife, Lauren Kyle McDavid, has quietly become a local hit. While Connor's on the ice dominating games, Kyle has opened Trove Living, a furniture showroom and cozy gathering spot in downtown Edmonton.

Lauren Kyle McDavid opened her showroom, Trove Living, this spring in the historic Canada Permanent building in Edmonton. She designed the 9,000-square-foot space to house her interior design firm, Kyle & Co, and Bar Trove, a place for guests to sip and shop.
'I wanted people to experience what I create,'
she told the Edmonton Journal on June 24, 2025.
Renovation work brought her vision to life, blending historic charm with modern design.
She said the space fits her love of hosting. From client meetings to lunch with friends, the showroom doubles as a warm community hub. Kyle uses it to show off both furniture and her flair for cozy, inviting spaces.

Kyle didn't stop at furniture. Earlier this year, she launched Sports Club Atelier, a sportswear brand featuring elevated unisex apparel.
The brand has released two limited collections of Oilers gear. It plans to add more NHL teams this fall and will collaborate with Team Canada ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Lauren also sits on the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation board alongside Leon Draisaitl's wife, Celeste Desjardins. The group has donated over $2.5 million and supports youth and vulnerable families in Edmonton. Kyle credits her interior design and fashion efforts to her creative roots in her Toronto days at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Even while balancing her businesses, she makes time for Connor's hockey journey. She shared that Connor began gifting her business-coaching sessions early on to help her grow.
