Katie Price ‘taking legal advice after ex Alex Reid's threatens to expose her
Katie Price has 'taken legal advice and is biding her time' after her ex-husband Alex Reid sensationally declared he was 'going to expose the truth' about her. Earlier this week former cage fighter Alex, 50, announced he was going up against the former glamour model, 47, who he was married to for a year before they split in 2011. In the dramatic video posted online, Alex explained: 'Over the years, you've seen countless stories by Katie Price directed at me, Peter Andre, Kieran Hayler, and others. 'I am spearheading a campaign to expose the truth. This isn't about gossip, it's about evidence. It isn't about rumour, it's about reality. 'After years of silence, the time has finally come to reveal all. This is bigger than one person. It's about honesty, accountability, and supporting those that have been silenced. The time for speculation is over. The truth will now be seen and heard.' He also shared a video of Katie counting wads of cash, which comes after she was declared bankrupt twice in the past six years. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A few days on, a source close to Katie has explained how she's reportedly responded to her ex's bold declaration against her. 'We're all really surprised by how calm she has been, as Alex's latest stunt would send most people into a very dark place,' they told The Sun. 'This isn't the first time Kate's ex-husbands and partners have ganged up on her, but the last time it happened, it drove her over the edge, and we were all seriously worried about her. This time around though, she is in a completely different place.' Specifically addressing Alex's actions, the friend said: 'Her feeling is, if Alex Reid wants to create a drama to get himself some attention, then good for him. She was blindsided by Alex dropping the clip, she had no idea it was coming, but she is refusing to stoop to his level by coming out all guns blazing as she has in the past. That's what the old Katie would have done, but this time around Katie is in no rush to publicly comment on this latest attempt to bring her down.' Instead, she is 'doing the sensible thing, she has taken legal advice and is biding her time'. The friend also said that Katie was 'aware' Alex had threatened to speak about her more soon, but that she was 'taking it in her stride' and would 'have her say at some point'. Katie and Alex had a whirlwind romance, marrying in Las Vegas in February 2010, just seven months after they began dating. But by January 2011 Katie announced they were divorcing and called their union a 'mistake'. She went on to say: 'Alex changed from the man I fell in love with, and some of his behaviour became difficult for me to understand and caused issues. Our difficulties were also not helped by Alex becoming more fascinated by life in the media eye.' 2009- Katie split from husband Peter Andre and moved on with Alex eight weeks later The same year Katie infamously dumped him during a live TV appearance, but soon after they got back together February 2010- The couple marry in Las Vegas January 2011- Katie announces their impending divorce 2019- Katie is sued by Alex. She's ordered by a court to pay him £25,000 after misusing private information about his sex life and also had to pay him £150,000 in legal costs after allegedly sharing sex tape footage of him with a TV studio audienc August 2025- Alex announces he is 'spearheading a campaign' against his ex In the years since the former couple have made pointed digs at each other publicly countless times. Alex has labelled Katie a 'spiteful bully' and accused her of bullying him 'for years'. He also sued her in 2019 and she was then ordered by a court to pay him £25,000 after misusing private information about his sex life. She also had to pay him £150,000 in legal costs after allegedly sharing sex tape footage of him with a TV studio audience. More Trending The video Alex shared of Katie counting money is believed to have been filmed in 2020. She was declared bankrupt in 2019 and again last year after an unpaid tax bill but has since been discharged from both. There's no suggestion Katie did not declare this money, but in the video, she brags about how much cash she's counting and explains she's 'sorting it out' – whilst also taking a brutal dig at ex-husband Peter Andre's children with his current wife Emily, calling them 'irrelevant'. Despite this, her friend claimed that Katie 'believes the men in her life blame her for everything'. View More » Metro has contacted representatives for Katie Price for comment. Got a story?
