PSG Get Good News as Man Utd Make Transfer Decision on Aston Villa Veteran

PSG's goalkeeping situation is becoming uncertain, with Lucas Chevalier emerging as a possible long-term solution. Although Gianluigi Donnarumma is under contract through 2026, extension talks have hit a standstill with no deal in sight.
Meanwhile, Manchester United might be looking to shake up their goalkeeper lineup, with Donnarumma reportedly on their radar.
L'Équipe reports that Donnarumma started considering a move away from PSG before last season ended, even though he publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to the club.
Since June, Manchester United and Manchester City have shown interest in the Italian keeper. PSG hopes to finalize a deal for Chevalier before making any decisions about Donnarumma's future.

Moreover, the Red Devils' interest in the Italian could pick up as they appear to be out on another goalkeeping target. The Athletic's Laurie Whitwell reports that Manchester United have ruled out a move to sign 32-year-old Emi Martinez from Aston Villa because the cost is too high.
On Monday, RMC Sport's Fabrice Hawkins reported that Donnarumma is still with PSG, but his agents are actively looking for potential new clubs.
The Italian goalkeeper reportedly has several options, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Galatasaray, and some teams from Saudi Arabia. Despite the interest, Donnarumma remains dedicated to PSG and would only consider leaving if he's convinced by the right project.
Inside PSG, there's a chance Donnarumma and Chevalier could compete for the starting spot, with Luis Enrique expected to make the final call, according to Hawkins.

Bryan Mbeumo reveals the Manchester United player he is most looking forward to playing with

Manchester United's new signing Bryan Mbeumo has revealed the player he is looking forward to playing alongside with the most at Old Trafford. Cameroon winger Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals and provided seven assists for Brentford in the Premier League last season, signed a five-year contract last week to become United's third summer signing. He will now link up with a host of international stars as they hope to improve on last season's league position. When asked on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast who he was most looking forward to playing alongside, Mbeumo said: 'Of course, Bruno (Fernandes). Of course, yeah. 'Everyone sees in the past years. He can shoot, he can cross, he can do crazy ball. Yeah, for a striker, you just enjoy that.' Mbeumo is hoping to nurture a chemistry on and off the training pitch with United's Portuguese talisman before the club launch the 2025-26 campaign at home against Arsenal on August 17. 'I think it's a little bit of everything. You earn experience from everyone. So it's always good to speak to someone like this,' Mbeumo said. 'But at the end, I think on the pitch, when you're smart like he is, I think you don't even need to think a lot. You just need to make the run and he's going to play you in the right space every time. 'But of course, you can have a little discussion to make him know how I prefer the balls and how I'm feeling the best to have the ball. 'But at a certain point, there is only one way, even if it's not the one you like, you have to do the run and he's going to put the ball in a good position.' Mbeumo's arrival at Old Trafford follows the signings of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and Paraguay left-back Diego Leon, from Cerro Porteno. United have recently been linked with Ollie Watkins – RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko is also a reported target – and Mbeumo described his former Brentford team-mate as the 'complete striker'. Mbeumo said of Watkins: 'I think he's really complete. He's like a complete striker. He can do a lot of things. 'He can drop with the set or going in behind. And I think this is really good for me or for a winger because you can use his space to fit in there. And he can combine as well. So, I think it's really good.'

Mbeumo looks forward to Fernandes link-up at Man Utd

Bryan Mbeumo says he is excited about linking up with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes as he prepares for life at Old Trafford following his move from Brentford. After weeks of drawn-out talks, the 25-year-old finally joined United last week for £65 million ($87 million) plus a potential £6 million in add-ons. The Cameroon winger, who scored 20 goals and provided seven assists for Brentford in the Premier League last season, has signed a five-year deal with United, becoming their third signing of the summer transfer window. Mbeumo told the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast that Fernandes was the player he was most looking forward to playing with. "Everyone sees in the past years, he can shoot, he can cross, he can do crazy ball," he said. "Yeah, for a striker, you just enjoy that." Mbeumo is hoping to benefit from the experience of the Portuguese midfielder, who said last month he had rejected a huge offer from Saudi Arabia to stay at United despite their struggles last season. "On the pitch, when you're smart like he is, I think you don't even need to think a lot," he said. "You just need to make the run and he's going to play you in the right space every time. "But of course, you can have a little discussion to make him know how I prefer the balls and how I'm feeling the best to have the ball. "But at a certain point, there is only one way, even if it's not the one you like, you have to do the run and he's going to put the ball in a good position." Mbeumo said of Watkins: "He's like a complete striker. He can do a lot of things." United are currently on a summer tour of the United States, preparing for their Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17. jw/mw
