Ryan Williams, Jeremiah Smith earn EA Sports College Football 26 cover honors
EA Sports revealed its cover for College Football 26. There are are pair of wideouts with the gift of grab who have earned the honors. Ryan Williams of Alabama and Jeremiah Smith are rising sophomores and the accomplishments they already have gained them notice.
It is ironic players who defenses have found impossible to cover wind up on the cover, right?
Smith had 76 catches for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns as a freshman for the national champion Buckeyes.

Williams gained immediately attention for his accomplishments with Alabama as a 17-year-old.
He made 48 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns, capturing the spotlight immediately in the tough SEC.
The College Football 26 trailer will be released by EA Sports on Thursday.

USC not ranked in top 20 of ESPN's preseason FPI The start of the 2025 college football season continues to draw closer. This week, we got another sign that kickoff is just around the corner with the release of ESPN's annual preseason Football Power Index (FPI) rankings. Coming off of a 7-6 season last year, USC did not make the top 20 of the rankings. Perhaps more interesting, however, was the conference makeup of the list. Of ESPN's top 20 teams, 11 are from the SEC, compared to just four from the Big Ten. Given ESPN's well-established relationship with the SEC, many fan bases may very well accuse the FPI rankings of being biased towards the conference. This group includes USC fans, who certainly feel as though there are not 11 SEC teams better than the Trojans. ESPN's FPI did have USC as a top-20 team on offense, with the Trojans tied with Tennessee at No. 12. It seems as though the computers have more faith in Lincoln Riley's offense than they do in D'Anton Lynn's defense. Regardless, it is clear that ESPN's FPI is not particularly high on USC heading into this fall. It will be up to the Trojans to try and use this as motivation and prove their doubters wrong on the field.

19th Birmingham Bowl scheduled for December 29
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The 19th Birmingham Bowl is set for Monday, Dec. 29 at Protective Stadium. The game will feature teams from the SEC, AAC, or ACC. Music City Bowl date, time set for 2025-26 college football season
The 27th Music City Bowl is set for Dec. 30 at 4:30 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN, the network announced June 5 with the release of its 2025-26 college football bowl schedule. Since 1998 Nashville has hosted the Music City Bowl, with Nissan Stadium holding every game since the bowl's first edition was played at Vanderbilt Stadium. Advertisement The Music City Bowl enters its final year holding conference agreements with the SEC and Big Ten, the former of which has been aligned since the bowl's origin. Last season's Music City Bowl saw No. 23 Missouri take down Iowa, 27-24, after scoring three times in the final 17 minutes of play.
