Farmville man arrested on child exploitation charges
PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — The Pitt County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit started working on an Internet Crimes Against Children case on February 25. This led up to an April 17 arrest.
James August Samuelson, 44 years old and from Farmville, was arrested on April 17 after multiple search warrants were executed. Detectives from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation helped identify Samuelson as the alleged perpetrator. He was charged with 2nd and 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Samuelson was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center and given a $500,000 secured bond.

2 dead in Cobb County murder-suicide
Cobb County police investigated a murder-suicide that occurred on Saturday. Around 10:37 a.m., police received a call to respond to a home on Research Drive. When they arrived, officers found a woman and a man dead inside the home. Investigators did not say the cause of death or what the relationship was between the man and woman. 2 shooting incidents within minutes in Akron; 1 shot
[Watch in the player above: What happens when you call 911?] AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Shootings were reported in two locations just two miles apart in Akron and within minutes of each other early Thursday, June 5. The first happened just before 12:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Grant Street, according to a statement from police. A witness transported a 38-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the hospital. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and the city police Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene. Less than 15 minutes later, police received more reports of gunfire, this time near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Fuller Street, near Joy Park, according to the statement. That's about two miles east of the previous report. Officers found a 37-year-old woman who said a bullet struck the front door of her Fuller Avenue home. Another woman living along Minson Way also said a bullet ended up in her home. Witnesses told police they saw four or five people firing weapons. Officers found several shell casings in the area.
