Soccer Aid is back for another year with a host of famous faces teaming up with some of football's biggest names to play a huge charity match and raise money for UNICEF.
As ever, an England team will go head to head with a World XI in order to lift the trophy, which the Three Lions side claimed last year for the first time in eight years. Led by co-managers Wayne Rooney and Tyson Fury, they will look to retain their title at Old Trafford on Sunday night, with the likes of Gary Neville, Louis Tomlinson and Dame Denise Lewis among those taking part.

The World XI team is also stacked with a host of football icons, with Carlos Tevez, Edwin van der Sar and Leonardo Bonucci among the former professionals involved.

Representing Australia in the squad is Harry Kewell, with the former Wallabies winger making his Soccer Aid debut at this year's event.
The 46-year-old is somewhat of a Premier League icon, having spent 12 years playing in the top flight of English football for both Leeds United and Liverpool, before seeing out the rest of his career with stints in Turkey, Qatar and his homeland of Australia.
To date, he remains the only Australian man to have ever played in the Champions League final, while he won 58 caps for his country and represented them at two FIFA World Cups.

While his career has taken him all around the world - with his latest managerial stint seeing him take charge of Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos - Kewell will forever be linked to the UK having married one of the country's most popular soap stars while playing in the English top flight.
The 2005 Champions League winner - who has also managed the likes of Crawley Town, Notts County, Oldham Athletic and Barnet since retiring in 2014 - has been married to former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star Sheree Murphy for 23 years.
The couple got together while Kewell was at the top of his game at Leeds, having met in the city's Majestyk nightclub in 2000.

Kewell then married Murphy - who has also starred in Neighbours and Only Fools and Horses as well as being a recurring panelist on Loose Women - in a ceremony in Las Vegas in May 2002.
The famous pair have gone on to have four children together, with their son Taylor born in 2001 before they also welcomed daughters Ruby, Matilda and Dolly.
Murphy has spoken openly about her relationship with the former footballer, telling the Loose Women panel that she is not afraid to make her feelings known if female fans try and flirt with her husband.

"I'll say 'hello I'm the wife' if they go too far!," she said. "Harry just starts sweating, he gets quite nervous!"
She also famously embarrassed her husband during her time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2005 as she told campmates that Kewell "had a peachy bum", leaving viewers in stitches.
With the Wallabies star still playing for Liverpool at the time, the remark led to him - quite literally - being the butt of the joke, and Murphy - who finished runner-up on the show - was left groaning as she was put on the spot about the comment after leaving the famous jungle.

"Oh God, I can't even remember saying that," she told the Liverpool Echo. "But apparently on the telly they're still saying 'a brilliant goal by peachy bum!'
"Harry was like 'will people never stop?'. But, actually, he's been fine about it and I think he was so glad to have me home he didn't care.
"At least I was saying something nice," she added. "I wasn't saying it was fat or anything!"

Sam Thompson joins final minutes of Soccer Aid charity match as England player

The Made In Chelsea star had said he could not play for the England team after being injured while completing the Match Ball Mission running and cycling challenge, which raised more than £2 million for Unicef. But Thompson made it on for the last few minutes of the charity match, broadcast live on ITV, which also saw Hollywood's Julia Roberts chatting to Wayne Rooney and Dermot O'Leary apologising to viewers for a Tyson Fury 'f-bomb'. The match at Old Trafford, which sees an England team of former professionals and celebrities take on Soccer Aid World XI FC, raised more than £15 million for the aid organisation. The I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner injured his calf during his challenge where he transported the Soccer Aid match ball from last year's stadium, Chelsea's Stamford Bridge, to Old Trafford. On Friday, he announced that he would no longer be able to play and instead join the management team alongside Fury, however minutes before the final whistle, Thompson joined the Old Trafford pitch as a player. Before Sunday's match, O'Leary 'profusely' apologised to ITV viewers after the heavyweight champion swore live on air while giving the England team a pre-match talk in the locker rooms. He said: 'Let them know how good we are. We are England. We are f****** Spartans. We are Spartans.' Presenters Alex Scott and O'Leary apologised afterwards, with Scott saying: 'What can I say about Tyson Fury? We do apologise for the swearing, but it is Tyson Fury, we don't know what's going to happen.' O'Leary added: 'We do profusely apologise.' The game ended with a 5-4 win for the Soccer Aid World XI team, with the final goal being scored by rapper and TV chef Big Zuu. Among his teammates who joined him to celebrate was former Argentina and Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez, who scored four goals for the World XI. Prior to lifting the trophy in the air, singer Robbie Williams – who co-founded the charity game in 2006 – announced this year's had raised £15,280,163. Pretty Woman-star Roberts, who has described herself as a 'true fan' of Manchester United, was seen taking photographs at Old Trafford, smiling next to the former England striker Rooney, who, minutes into the game, scored the first goal for England. Among the England team line-up alongside Rooney were former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson and Olympic gold-medallist Sir Mo Farah. Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey also joined this year's England team along with comedian Paddy McGuinness, former Manchester United player Gary Neville and singer Tom Grennan. Last year, the match ended with a 6-3 win for England, with the Three Lions taking home the win for the first time in six years. Since the fundraising match was first founded nearly two decades ago, it has raised more than £106 million.

Alex Scott's WAG Jess Glynne can't keep her hands off her at Soccer Aid match as she cheekily grabs presenter's bum in loved-up display

Alex Scott and her WAG Jess Glynne couldn't keep their hands off each other at the Soccer Aid match on Sunday. The 40-year-old former footballer presented the charity event alongside Dermot O'Leary, with girlfriend Jess supporting her from the sidelines. Alex stole the show in a dark burgundy leather two-piece, which had subtle Soccer Aid branding for her big night. She added a pair of heels for extra glam, looking excited as she headed onto the pitch with a microphone in hand. Songstress Jess, 35, was clearly feeling her girlfriend in the latex outfit as she cheekily grabbed her bum. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Jess placed her hand over Alex's embroidered burgundy and gold maxi skirt, as the pair frolicked around on the pitch. Alex stood on her tiptoes as Jess pulled her in for a hug, with the two stars playfully laughing at each other. Jess cut a more casual figure in bleached ripped jeans, which she wore with a white top and plaid shirt. The singer wore her hood up and added a leather jacket and glasses more a more low-key look. Other stars in attendance were Coleen Rooney, Julia Roberts and Robbie Williams. WAG Coleen, 39, was spotted with one of her four sons, looking in good spirits as they headed to support husband and dad Wayne Rooney. Alex and Jess' appearance marks the latest loved-up display from the couple, who began dating around October 2023. They kept their relationship private for months however, with Alex later admitting that they chose to do so because they knew it was 'special'. Writing in The Times, the BBC pundit opened up on her relationship, saying her and Jess are becoming the 'same person'. Detailing her daily routine, she wrote: 'I wake up next to my partner, Jess, who has become the same person as me over the past year and a half. 'She can see what going to the gym does for me mentally, so she'll do the same'. As reported by The Sun, Alex is said to be 'considering other offers' after experiencing a 'lack of support' with Football Focus on the BBC. The controversy came surrounding plummeting viewing figures, which left Alex reportedly feeling like she had been 'thrown under a bus' by the broadcaster. A source said: 'Last year [Alex] was hugely hurt by unfair criticism about falling viewing figures - and felt she was thrown under a bus. 'The viewing figures were not as reported. She feels no-one backed her up and issued the correct viewing figures.' The presenter's contract with the BBC is reported to be up for renewal this summer.

Viktor Gyokeres receives £11m contract offer after Arsenal and Man Utd bids

Viktor Gyokeres has received a rival contract offer worth £11m-a-year after holding talks with Arsenal and Manchester United, according to reports. The 27-year-old has been in talks with Premier League giants Arsenal and Man United following another sensational season at Sporting Lisbon. Signed from Championship side Coventry City in 2023, Gyokeres scored 43 goals during his first season at Sporting under United manager Ruben Amorim. Gyokeres went to another level last season, scoring 54 goals in 52 appearances as Sporting clinched the Portuguese league title. Arsenal and Manchester United were thought to be in a direct battle to sign Gyokeres, who has a release clause of £84m but is available for closer to £70m. Mikel Arteta is desperate to sign a new striker after going yet another season without a trophy and would happily welcome Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko to the Emirates Stadium. Amorim had been hoping to book a reunion with his former Sporting star at Old Trafford despite United finishing just 15th in the Premier League and failing to qualify for the Champions League. But Portuguese outlet Report claimed over the weekend that Gyokeres had decided against joining Manchester United this summer and was instead pushing for a move to Arsenal. That appeared to leave Arsenal in pole position to win the transfer race but the situation was complicated further by reports that the Gunners are becoming 'fed up' with negotiations with both the player and his current club. According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are planning to take advantage of the uncertainty by hijacking the transfer and bringing Gyokeres to Turin. It is claimed that after talks with Gyokeres' representatives the Serie A giants indicated they are ready to draw up a contract worth £11m-a-year. Any Juve move for Gyokeres will, however, rely first on the club offloading current striker Dusan Vlahovic, who continues to be linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. Reports in Italy also say Juventus are planning to make an official offer for Gyokeres, believed to be worth more than £60m, 'in the next few days'. Arsenal and Manchester United could yet face further competition for Gyokeres from Saudi Arabia, who are keen to add another star name to their league. Gyokeres recently rejected an approach from Al Hilal but may make a U-turn if moves to Arsenal, United or Juventus fail to materialise. Spending another season at Sporting Lisbon appears to be off the table, with Gyokeres believed to be 'furious' at his club over their approach to his potential sale. Ex-England defender Rio Ferdinand believes Gyokeres should 'cause a nightmare' at Sporting to force a move this summer. 'I'll tell you one thing, I would be in his office [Sporting president Frederico Varandas] and he wouldn't be able to leave me,' Ferdinand told talkSPORT when asked about the latest rumours. 'I'd be in his bed, I'd be in his front room, his kitchen, he wouldn't be able to get me out of his sight. I'd be causing him a nightmare to get out if we'd had an agreement. 'I did that when I was at Leeds. I heard that Manchester United were interested in me and I knew had to let me go. 'I went to Peter Ridsdale and said, 'Listen, I know you need to sell me, let's not haggle over a couple of million here and there and let's get a deal done', and I was there for hours waiting and ended up getting it done.' Ferdinand has been impressed by Gyokeres' sensational record for Sporting Lisbon but still doubts he would transform Manchester United. More Trending 'Is he the right guy? Listen, he has some really good attributes. I've not seen enough of him to be totally convinced,' the six-time Premier League winner added. 'The games I have seen him in, in the Champions League against players that match him up physically, I'd love to see a bit more. 'But there's no denying that he knows where the goal is. He's playing in Portugal where he's been banging in and setting up goals left, right and centre the last couple of years. 'I just think for Manchester United, at this moment in time, I would go for experience more than anything.' For more stories like this, check our sport page.
