Equipment to students with special needs distributed
Vijayawada: NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha urged students with special needs to make effective use of government-provided facilities to overcome challenges and achieve high positions in life. On Monday, a programme for distribution of equipment to the students with special needs was organised under the aegis of the School Education Department and Samagra Shiksha.
Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and Collector Lakshmisha distributed the equipment to the students. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector announced that 273 pieces of equipment worth Rs 18.70 lakh were distributed to 173 beneficiaries with special needs under the School Education Department and Samagra Shiksha.
The distributed items included battery-operated motorised tricycles, Braille kits, elbow crutches, TLM kits, wheelchairs, walking sticks, and rollators. The collector emphasised that these aids would greatly benefit students with special needs and highlighted the state government's special initiatives to empower such students. He encouraged students to study diligently and seize career opportunities. He also noted that similar programmes would be organised in future.
MLA Umamaheshwara Rao stated that the state government is providing comprehensive support to differently-abled individuals and urged them to utilise government facilities and services. He assured that such assistance would continue in future, including the provision of new pensions with Sadaram certificates.
He said that differently-abled individuals are receiving a pension of Rs 6,000. The Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) are also contributing to the holistic development of differently-abled individuals, he added.
The MLA said that equipment to aid education is being provided, and the government is ready to supply as many such aids as needed. He further stated that equipment would be distributed immediately upon application.

This year, the UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 was held on May 25 (Sunday) in two shifts, with each shift spanning two hours. The exam consisted of: General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT). After passing the UPSC Civil Services Exam, candidates selected for IAS, IPS, and IFS will go to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). This course lasts for three weeks. Selected students for IPS will then undergo additional training at the Police Academy in Hyderabad. LBSNAA IAS training lasts two years. While IPS candidates start with a three-month foundation course at LBSNAA, then move on to 11 months of training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad. After this, they spend six months in practical training in their designated area, followed by a one-month training back at SVPNPA. Salary of IAS, IPS Officers Trainee IAS and IPS officers receive a stipend of around Rs 40,000 per month. While their actual salary is Rs 56,000 monthly, various deductions such as mess and hostel fees are applied. Both IAS and IPS officers start with the same salary. The maximum salary for an IAS officer can reach up to Rs 2,50,000 per month, whereas for IPS officers, it can go up to Rs 2,25,000. The highest salary is determined by their seniority and rank. Top students honoured with ‘Shining Stars' awards
Kothacheruvu: Under the leadership of District Collector TS Chetan, top-performing students from the 2024–25 academic year were felicitated with 'Shining Stars - 2025' awards at a grand function held at Sri Venkateswara Kalyana Mandapam, Kothacheruvu. The event, organised by the District Education Department and Samagra Shiksha, recognised students who secured top marks in the Class 10 public exams. As part of the award, each student received 20,000 in cash, a medal, and a memento. A total of 187 Class 10 students and 38 Intermediate students were honored at the event. Local MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy, former minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy, DEO Kishtappa, Intermediate Officer Devaraju, and other officials were present. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector urged students not to fall prey to the distractions of social media or the growing menace of drug abuse. He stressed that education should be complemented with physical and mental well-being to succeed in today's competitive world. MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy emphasized the importance of Class 10 and Intermediate education as the foundation for pursuing professional careers like medicine and engineering.

HSSC CET 2025 application window closes soon; registration link here
The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will soon close the registrations for the Common Eligibility Test under Advt. No. 01/2025. Candidates can submit their forms on the official website till June 12, 2025. The last date to pay the fee is June 14, 2025. The exam schedule will be released separately. The question paper shall be of the level of Senior Secondary Education (Class 12th) except for the subjects of Hindi and English, for which the level shall be of Matriculation. The exam will be held for 1 hour and 30 minutes, and will consist of 100 questions of 100 marks. The CET marks obtained by the applicants shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of declaration of the results. Eligibility Criteria Age Limit: 18 to 42 years as on June 12, 2025.
