Plumery integrates Salt Edge's open banking gateway

Yahoo12-06-2025
Dutch digital banking software company Plumery has partnered with Salt Edge, an open banking solutions provider, to enhance digital banking journeys.
The partnership focuses on integrating Salt Edge's open banking gateway into Plumery's platform, providing 'real-time' access to account aggregation and payment initiation capabilities across banks worldwide.
It is designed to be available out-of-the-box, reducing complexity and expediting compliance for financial institutions.
This collaboration aims to cut time-to-market for open banking-enabled features.
By combining Plumery's platform with Salt Edge's data connectivity and regulatory expertise, the partnership hopes to simplify access to end-users' financial data across all their accounts through a single API.
It also provides connectivity to over 2,400 banks across Europe, enabling payments and transfers within financial institutions' apps or platforms.
Plumery CEO and founder Ben Goldin said: 'At Plumery, we believe in empowering banks to move faster without compromising user experience or compliance.
'Our developer-friendly platform has always prioritised the customer experience by allowing banks to constantly enhance their services and respond to market demands at speed.'
Salt Edge business development manager Maria Rusu said: 'Plumery brings a fresh and highly flexible approach to building digital banking journeys. Its composable platform aligns perfectly with Salt Edge's mission to make open banking adoption simple and secure.
'This collaboration will enable financial institutions to accelerate their open banking and open finance initiatives, empowering them with real-time data access, secure account-to-account payments and compliant future-ready digital services.'
As per the announcement, the partnership is timely as banks face increasing regulatory complexity and rising customer expectations.
Europe will be the initial focus, where open banking regulation is maturing and demand for embedded finance and personalised digital services is growing, the companies said.
Future opportunities for Plumery and Salt Edge include launching next-gen personal finance tools powered by aggregated data and supporting emerging embedded finance use cases.

SyFu partners with Salt Edge for global card payment data integration

SyFu, a project in the DePIN (Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Network) × GameFi space, has partnered with open banking platform Salt Edge to enable card payment data integration across geographies. The collaboration will enable the direct integration of card payment data from over 5,000 banks in more than 50 countries directly into the SyFu app. The SyFu app, which operates within the Web3 space, offers an approach to everyday payment data by turning it into Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and tokens through interactive gaming finance mechanisms. The platform uses a combination of non-custodial wallets, decentralised identities, and Soulbound Tokens to assign on-chain value to users' real-world expenditures. With the support of Salt Edge's platform, which complies with the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) and connects globally, SyFu can now access and integrate payment data from credit and debit cards without requiring users to alter their existing payment methods. The move eliminates the need for manual input of payment history and users can continue to use their current cards while the SyFu app automatically updates their NFTs and token balances. The partnership also enhances SyFu's capabilities as a base layer for real-world applications of Web3 by providing real-time, verifiable economic data by using Salt Edge's authorised payment institution (AISP) licence. Looking ahead, SyFu aims to extend its operations into the EU and other markets, leveraging the partnership with Salt Edge to convert everyday spending into authenticated, on-chain contributions. SyFu founder Tomochika Kamiya said: 'Without changing their existing payment methods, users can enjoy an entirely new experience in which everyday spending is visualised as an economic contribution and transformed into digital assets. 'Through this collaboration, we aim to create a global cycle of value that seamlessly merges Web3 with the real economy.' Salt Edge open banking solutions expert Virgiliu Bodrug stated: 'We're thrilled to see creative, out-of-the-box use cases like SyFu, where payment data becomes the gateway to immersive Web3 experiences. This partnership is a perfect example of how fintech infrastructure can power entirely new digital economies.' Earlier this year, Moldova's digital wallet service Paynet teamed up with Salt Edge to comply with the country's PSD2 regulations. Dutch Energy Firm TenneT Attracts Investor Interest After Debt Guarantee

MUFG Securities executed over $500 million of trades in TenneT Holding BV 's bonds in July, marking a flurry of interest in the Dutch electricity firm after the government approved a debt guarantee. 'We see strong scope for TenneT bonds to outperform,' said Chris Orr, head of credit trading for MUFG's Europe, Middle East and Africa division. He added that there's potential for the debt to trade at a tighter spread premium compared with AAA-rated sovereign, supranational and agency debt lacking a state guarantee.
